Ted Lasso: Carol of the Bells (2021)
Season 2, Episode 4
10/10
What an unexpectedly brilliant and touching episode
16 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Christmas in August, what genius. The episode was touching, amazingly funny (the Nerf war in the house was hysterical), and showcased some terrific writing, acting, and really great pacing throughout. For me this episode shows not just how good Ted Lasso is as a comedy but truly showcases the heart of the writing that makes up the core of what makes Ted Lasso brilliant.

A brilliant end to Season 2 and WHAT a payoff
26 April 2021
No spoilers review!

Season 2 had some uncertain moments but is, overall, still superbly watchable. With the final Episode, the payoff is amazing. The tension built HARD from the middle of the season and just kept piling it on over the final four episodes. The finale absolutely stuck the landing and left me gasping for Season 3. The acting has been first rate from the whole cast, the writing and dialog is excellent and the production quality is superb. Bravo Apple for taking the chance on what could have been really cheesy and has ended up being one of my favorite series and a must watch.

Westworld: Parce Domine (2020)

What a start - hoping this is the new normal for the series
16 March 2020
Picking up soon after Season 2 left off, this series of Westworld turns the show on its head and drops us into the "real world" outside the park. Wow, do they pack a lot in to the hour!

No spoilers, but suffice to say you need to pay attention to what is happening on screen and really listen to the dialog. So much happens and yet you get a great introduction to the world and the Delores character is treated brilliantly.

This one episode will need to be rewatched to pick up on all the small details.

Lost in Space (2018–2021)
7/10
Not as awful as some have made out. Certainly not the best either
19 April 2018
This updated Lost In Space is a relatively competent series that, frankly, deserves a second series. It may not be awesome, but it is pretty watchable and moves along relatively well all things considered.

One of the things I like is the way it shows humans being clever and solving problems using intellect and resourcefulness rather than pseudo-science mumbo-jumbo.

It is, however, a little uneven both from a pacing perspective and character perspective. While some characters are REALLY well written (The Robinson Kids, Dr. Smith) some are really barely fleshed out and hit every trope in history.

The dialog, similarly, is a little hit and miss. When it hits it is absolutely spot on and this more often than not happens when Maureen, Penny, Judy or Smith are on screen.

It's worth your time.
