The Vampire Diaries (2009)
A great show
This show is the best show I have ever seen. I am not being sarcastic here.
Extremely well written story, the audience will be holding their breaths to find out whether Elena will end up with Stefan, or if it will be with Damon.
This show is very open minded, unlike other crappy TV-shows that would depict vampires as evil. Vampires are people too, folks! That is something which the residents of Mystic Fall makes very clear. The tolerance from Elena and her gang of friends warms my heart. Most people would think "these vampires have killed dozens of people, maybe we shouldn't befriend them".
One thing I like is the main character, Elena, who is very kind and brave. The best part of her is that she is very forgiving. In season five, Damon does something evil to Elena's friend, but Elena forgives him, because she is a good person.
The story is very fast paced, it doesn't drag on like other shows (Lost is a good example) does. New things happen all the time. Another bonus is the fact that you never really have to worry about characters, as when they die, they are often brought back to life somehow. Klaus being a good example. Imagine my relief when I thought my favorite character was gone forever, but then they resurrected him! So basically, what I'm trying to say, this show is the opposite of a waste of time. You will come out educated about vampires, you will learn from the kindness of these individuals, and you will become a better person after watching this show.
Rampage (2009)
Enjoyable but stupid
The movie starts out with some guy who seems to have anger problems. The world is against him, he thinks. His parents don't understand him. It doesn't really give a good reason why he is so angry, which could be improved on. But it seems like he is a somewhat decent guy, meaning well. Especially when compared to his douchebag friend.
Then the rampage starts. It's disturbing, not really motivated. He's just venting his anger, I guess. His hatred for himself, for being such a useless loser, then finding something to put that blame on. Telling himself that these people he is killing is the bad ones, so now he is doing something actually useful.
So you try to enjoy his killing spree, because heck otherwise you can't enjoy the movie. I try to picture he is me, and I got some anger to take out. By killing everyone. It kinda works. Mindless, but enjoyable.
Now the ending is what really left a bad taste for me. Him getting away with it is fine with me, but that last message he sends, about him cleansing the world from overpopulation is such a retarded justification. Besides, weren't that his friend's words? I don't like how they put his friend's words in his mouth, without any real reason. You get the idea Bill is a reasonable guy, then they just drop this crap on you.
Tangled Ever After (2012)
severely disappointed
I watched the original movie a while ago, and found it quite good. But this sequel wasn't as good. That's really all I wanted to say, it's my first review here on IMDb, so I just wanted to write something short. But apparently you need to write ten lines, and I'm not sure I have reached that yet, so I will continue talking about this short movie. I'm not entirely sure why I didn't like it. The animation was good, probably on par with the first Tangled movie. Perhaps it was the story that sucked. I guess I shouldn't have too high expectations on a six minute short film, but still. Was there any moral to the story? None that I can think of really. Character development? Not exactly. But those things aren't always required I guess. What bothered me was the.. rather lame humour. Perhaps better suited for kids. I don't know.
