The Sandman (2022)
Well done bringing this fantastic world to life.
Sandman and its universe is A+ story telling and this live action adaption of it is just as compelling. The mythology is brilliantly done.
And to all those who are complaining about it calling it WOKE. Which they consider woke because it has gay and black people in it. I hate to break it to you but even in the original comics Lucifer and Constantine are both bi, so i guess the original work was WOKE. (Which is why my only complaint. Making Constantine a woman takes away from the character being one of the first openly bisexual major comic book characters)
The Gray Man (2022)
Its a action movie and it perfectly delivered
This is one of the best action movies i've seen in a long time. The plot/story was great and interesting without being convoluted like most CIA cloak and dagger type films. The cast was AWESOME!!! I've never really been a fan Ryan Gosling (except obviously a big fan of him in Breaker High) in fact i've been completely indifferent. UNTIL this movie, his portrayal of such a cool badass and also extremely likeable without any of those traits taking away from any other. Also Evans was phenomenal, i was addicted to his banter which he had with...everyone. Julia Butters did a great job. As the smart ass young kid, a role that usually ends up hammed up, insufferable and irritating she played it perfectly making the character likeable and appreciated. Especially the relationship between her and Six. The subtle while not subtle final "Just another Thursday" moment was the perfect definition of them, and one of my favourite in recent memory.
Its an action movie and it delivered perfectly on that promise.
Resident Evil (2022)
Finally something different from Resident Evil
I think its hilarious someone actually said that Resident Evil "sets the bar high". Maybe if the bar was subterraneous. This series was a nice change from Alice has no clue then has powers then has no powers then has more powers and back and forth all while gratuitously peppering monster and scene from the video games. While we hear computer British child, real child, computer child, real child. I mean there was no effort to those movies.
This was an actual story with new ideas and characters you could get invested in. Ella Balinska (Jade) i've loved this actor since she was amazing in Charlies Angels and she did it again. At some points i did have to wonder if this (in particularly Evelyn) was just a dramatization of the Sackler family, Umbrella repping Purdue and Joy just OxyContin. I don't know if the zombies killed as many people as the opioid crisis. And of course the Sackler family are FAR more evil.
All in all this was a good series is totally worth watching.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Getting better every season
There are no words. This is one of the G. O. A. Ts.
Aiden Gallagher's acting talents takes top rank on this show followed by everyone else as a very close second.
Wolverine and the X-Men (2008)
The best X-men animated series
But let me get this straight...who is it they're looking for?
Is it JEAN!
I swear if i hear one more person scream "JEAN" IM gonna snap. Otherwise great show.
Dear White People (2017)
Dear (us) White People watch this!!!
The poor reviews shockingly complain about this show because they BELIEVE for once their needs, egos, feelings are not being catered to. If theres a lot of white guilt bubbling up when watching this show...GOOD that guilt has been earned by privilege that you feel entitles you to be angry with this show. White people especially white men (like myself) can only benefit from being given just the smallest glimpse of a tiny fraction of the non stop struggle.
Personally i find what this shows basis is and does EXTREMELY well is just tells the story of these characters and their relationships and the well written and performed dynamics between these people. Ie i love the Jo and Gabe relationship. Its subtle and theres not a lot of it but every time theres interaction i live for it. You feel that connection based on their love for Sam growing to affection towards each other. Its just one example that makes it one of my favourite shows of all time. I am gonna miss it BAD.
The Ms. Pat Show (2021)
What else would you expect from Ms. Pat?
This show is amazing as per usual Ms. Pat kills it. It hits on all levels always had me laughing but there were a few times it definitely had me tearing up. And it covers topics from everybodys different angles. This show is relatable and real and everybody will be honestly better off having watched it. Binged the entire thing in one shot and i still haven't had enough...I need Ms Pat in my life.
Solos (2021)
Fantastic and impressive
This was a well done, amazing and thought provoking show. Almost every ep. Had me in tears and the final one had me sobbing.
Never been a huge Antony Mackie fan, but he was phenomenal.
The negative reviews are mostly just people crying about the Trump comment (a man who never passed an opportunity to trash someone so get over it) and crying about it being woke. Like there is something wrong with being aware that we can do better. So unless you're stupid and completely unable to have the slightest introspection you will love this show.
Haute tension (2003)
Perfectly Named
I have never been so tense in my entire life. The movie had me anxious for the whole film. Great movie, delivered what was promised.
Head Count (2018)
Reveal killed the vibe
This was a honestly tense thrilling well acted and written movie. Until they showed the creature in its true form. It killed everything they built.
My suggestion re-edit and remove that cheese
Otherwise great film do yourself a favour and watch it
Sense8 (2015)
One of the greatest series of all TIME!!!!
This is hands down one of the greatest series ever. It was brilliant, Original idea with a truly beautiful overall message and concept. The cast was amazing and the cinematography was some of the best i've ever seen. My favourite scenes were any of the ones when the cluster was celebrating. There isnt enough good things to say about this show. IF YOU HAVEN'T YOU MUST WATCH!!!!
The negative ratings given are just wrong and complain about:
1. Redneck bigots that dont like the "political agenda" this show is pushing. Sorry guys its not an agenda contrary to your close minded narrow belief there are lots of different people who live their lives lots of different ways and its ok to show that and it doesnt make shoving down your throat. Now please light yourselves on fire.
2. Brain dead morons who couldn't wrap their heads around the incredibly creative way the cluster gifts were shown. These same morons called it "boring" no idiot thats called rich storytelling. Its not all simple/basic plots spelled out simply for you in one or two scenes followed Michael Baying the rest with explosions and shiny things to keep you interested. Some of us like to become emotionally invested in the characters and story. If you morons could help the people from group 1 and then light yourselves on fire too. That would do this planet a great service.
So do yourself a favour and watch this show. If you dont it is only your loss.
Captive State (2019)
For those who enjoy a story that is intelligent
Anybody who watches this and doesn't like it, is not intelligent enough to get it. The story well written, interesting and exciting without having to have car chases and explosions every turn. The acting was amazing and the characters weren't overly developed at the expense of the plot.
WELL DONE ALL AROUND.
