Fast X (2023)

Pure entertainment if you don't take it seriously
21 May 2023
Reviews of the Fast franchise are always funny because people take the movies far too seriously. They're all utterly ridiculous in every way, which is what makes them so enjoyable. Is any part of this movie believable? Absolutely not. Was it entertaining? Absolutely. I laughed harder in this movie (and in previous installments) than I have in some of the better comedies that have been released; how could you not? It's RIDICULOUS in every way and is what makes this movie and the franchise so fun. Jason Momoa was great in his role and was a nice antagonist to the ever-so-seriously Vin Diesel. I go into each movie expecting it to be more unbelievable and over the top than the previous one and have yet to be let down. If you enjoy completely unbelievable and over the top action and storylines, drama, comedy, and just want to be entertained for the sake of entertainment, this movie is for you. If you're going to seriously analyze the ridiculousness of everything based on believability and acting chops, skip it.

So ridiculous
2 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Hallmark's had some pretty bad plots and this is another one to add to the list. The entire movie portrays the mom and the "bad" person and yes, she's a bit much, but what do they expect? The mother and daughter are supposed to be fairly close and then the daughter changes plans to hang with her mother because she's newly engaged -to a guy the mom knew nothing about? The daughter, friends, and new family that's forced on her keep making it seem like she's the one in the wrong in all of this. She's not. Trying to sabotage the wedding seems like a lot, but it's understandable. Her daughter is marrying a guy she's known for a few months and who wasn't good enough to be introduced beforehand. Hallmark finally got some good actors and squandered them with this terrible plot.

Brutally Painful to Watch
23 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All 8 episodes were painful to watch, but it's like they saved the worst for last. It's like they felt obligated to cover any remaining social issues in this episode. Thw worst part about this episode though was the Robin/Harper custody debacle. Was Harper NOT supposed to fight to keep his daughter from moving to another country?! Did I miss something? Everyone jumping on Harper's back about it had me ready to throw my remote at the tv. Yes, it's a nasty divorce and yes, the mother was fighting for her daughter, but come on. Should the father not do the same? This episode, along with the previous seven, was flat out terrible.

Cute, enjoyable movie
14 September 2022
This movie started off a little annoying with the meddlesome parents to me, but improved pretty quickly. The leads and all of the other characters had really good chemistry and were believable in their roles. I also really liked that the plot didn't require one of the leads to give up their dreams for the other. Overall, it's a cute movie with a good story that provides more than few genuine laughs and was worth the watch. Netflix has released some pretty terrible original movies for a while now, but this is one of the better ones. It's become my latest go-to to put on when I need something light to watch.

Bridgerton: The Viscount Who Loved Me (2022)
Season 2, Episode 8

More enjoyable than the Season 1
1 April 2022
I enjoyed season 2 more than season 1 and have seen most episodes multiple times. I also haven't read the books, so it helps that I'm not making that comparison. I'm a big fan of Pride & Prejudice and season 2 reminded me a lot of that. Kate and Anthony had better chemistry even though they weren't together than the Duke and Daphne did their entire season. I also really liked the bits of humor throughout the season. I haven't cared for the Featherington storyline in either season though and I wish we saw them less. I also wish we'd gotten more time this season with Kate and Anthony together as a couple, but I guess they'll pop up next season. Like most, I was a big fan of the Duke in season 1, but I didn't miss him this season. That said, his lack of presence was obvious though because Daphne was very much in the season and at big events, it was odd that he wasn't there. All in all, season 2 was a good one and is worth the watch.

Long and boring
17 August 2021
This movie felt so much longer than the 2+ hours that it was. It was unnecessarily long and the plot was mediocre at best. A too long movie couple with far too much dialogue from The Rock, made this a pain to watch.

KIDS loved this KIDS movie
18 July 2021
I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this. As an adult, is it the best kids movie I've seen? No. Was LeBron's acting terrible (as expected)? Yes. Did my 4 and 6 year old nieces like this? They LOVED it. It's a movie for kids that every kid I know who's watched it has actually enjoyed. If you're an adult and are looking for a great movie to watch, this isn't for you. That being said, for adults who do tune in, Don Cheadle makes the movie. He's hilarious.

Skip to the last 35-40 minutes
6 June 2021
This movie felt so much longer than what it actually was. The last 35-40 minutes is worth watching, but the rest can be skipped and you wouldn't miss a thing.

Loud music makes movie even worse than it is
10 May 2021
I generally like Hallmark movies for the cheesiness that I've come to expect, but this movie just isn't good. The acting is worse than usual and the plot is cheesier than most, but the worst part is that the music is so ridiculous loud! For some unknown reason, the music in Hallmark movies is always unnecessarily loud, but this one takes the cake. It's like they increased the volume of the music to take away from how terrible everything else is about the movie. I ended up turning it off halfway through.

A boring action movie
2 May 2021
I didn't read the novel, so I had no expectations going in to this -I just figured it'd be a pretty decent action movie. Wrong. The movie definitely had a lot of action and yet somehow, it was incredibly boring. There were a few decent scenes, but overall, it was pretty anticlimactic.

Not really an action movie, but it's fine
9 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed it for the dumb, incredibly slow paced, non-action having movie that it was. It helps that I watch all of these DC movies with my teenage nephews since I think we always enjoy them because we laugh and loud sigh at the same times.

I wasn't expecting this to be a primarily a romantic drama with Diana pining for Trevor throughout much of it. And the most action was at the beginning of the movie -of her as a kid. Started out dope. And then, where was the action?! The other one had a lot of storytelling and her getting used to the world, but there was plenty of action to break it up. This was just straight up story -and a slow one at that. Then there's FINALLY a fight scene and Diana didn't even have her dang powers. What in the world? And the climax of the fight scene with cheetah was all of 5 minutes. 25 mins worth of action in a 2.5 hour movie. And 15 of those minutes were of a kid.

But overall, it was fine. I'm sure I'll rewatch it a few times. The writers definitely failed the cast though. I actually liked Kristen Wiig in her role. I just felt like the writers didn't do her role any justice. It was more on them, not her. This movie still wasn't as bad as Batman vs Superman or Justice League though.

Easily one of Hallmark's best
18 November 2020
This is hands-down my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie and one of their best in general. The star studded Broadway cast really shows in their acting and the chemistry they have. It was refreshing to see a "prince" themed Hallmark movie where the Queen was a very pleasant character and wasn't out to get the leading woman because she was a commoner. I also really enjoyed seeing the characters crack jokes on one another. From start to finish, this was just flat out enjoyable. It premiered a couple of weeks ago and I've already seen this more times than I can count.

It had potential
7 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I like Damon Wayans, Jr and Rachel Leigh Cook and I like ALL of the cheesy rom-coms and romantic dramas, but this was just ... dumb. It's beyond simple, but has way too many "that doesn't make sense even for a basic romantic flick" that had me shaking my head pretty often. The nail in the coffin for me was the drama that resulted from Susan avoiding Nick and just calling off whatever was just getting started between the two of them. All she had to say was "Hey, we need to quit whatever this is until the case is over." It was that simple. These movies always have some ridiculous drama that could've been prevented by a conversation, but this one is so utterly ridiculous -especially when it comes to winning a lot of money.

Really cute movie
16 August 2020
This is one the of best Hallmark movies I've seen in a while, and I've seen most of them. The two leads have so much chemistry and so does the entire cast in general. I also really enjoyed finally seeing a Hallmark movie with a diverse cast who didn't seem like they were randomly forced into a scene.

Google Lin Manuel's inspiration for this
4 July 2020
This was well worth all the hype it's received over the years. There are so many reviews commenting on prominent characters being used twice who are missing the fact that acts I and II feature a bunch of different, new characters. It's common in musicals for actors/actresses to be used in multiple roles -otherwise the cast for each show would be massive. For the people commenting about hip hop and such diversity being incorrect for the timeframe, it's also helpful to Google why Lin Manuel Miranda set this to the tune of hip hop with a diverse cast -it's done with intent.

Enjoyable from beginning to end
24 June 2020
I don't know how I just recently came to realize this move existed, but I'm glad that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Like another user pointed out, there's no action and no main climax; it's just wonderful acting and storytelling throughout. It was nice that the optimism of the characters offset what was otherwise a pretty sad movie. It was definitely worth the watch.

This movie would've been so much better without the Melissa character. Angry teenager or not, she was beyond ridiculous.

I've seen this many times since it's release ages ago and I always crack up throughout it. Yes, some parts and scenes are a little cheesy, but other scenes are so hilarious that I can't stop laughing. Overall, it's a pretty funny, enjoyable movie.

Sure, there are some scenes that made me roll my eyes. Overall, it's an enjoyable action movie. It can stand to be 15-20 minutes shorter, but it's worth the watch if you like action.

A show to look forward to
20 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy this show and have looked forward to each episode since watching the premiere. I'm not the biggest fan of Vanessa's, but her character definitely makes sense. To me, Daniel is the worst character on the show though -and I like Victor Rasuk. For a family that gets along so well (for the most part) and seems to talk to each other about almost everything, he's TERRIBLE at communicating with everyone: he should've had a sit down with Vanessa very early on after she proposed; as far as we know, he hasn't spoken to his siblings about how they're dealing with issues his newfound fame has caused; he's afraid to speak to his dad about his career; he can't seem to actually defend himself or Noa (who's done nothing wrong). Every time he's on screen and there's some sort of issue, I just assume he's just going to stand there and look stupid. Outside of Daniel's inability to communicate at all, this show is great and is a fun watch. And oh, poor Natalie. I feel for her.

Murphy's Law
20 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Gosh, this was painful to watch. Everything that can go wrong, does. The teenage daughter is beyond ridiculous -even for a teenager. Noreen considering herself "mom" of a teenage boy after breaking up their family? My eyes can only roll so hard. And what type of law does the main character practice? Literally everything? Really? My goodness.

Good action movie
16 May 2020
I don't get all the negative reviews for this. It's an action movie. There's a lot of shooting, fighting, and dead bodies and the plot makes sense. I really enjoyed it for what it was: an action movie.
