Baby Reindeer (2024)
Overrated
I think Netflix creates a great marketing campaign around their shows, and even though i was aware that the hype around Baby Reindeer may have been manufactured, i decided to give a shot, mostly cause my wife was very interested in watching it.
The show is alright, not the best and not the worst ive seen. The disappointment lies in the fact that it does not live up to the expectations, and ends on a whimper. At no point, was I invested in the character, and kept expecting a major twist that never really happens.
The story seems to have many discontinuities and adds to the struggle in keeping up.
Animaniacs (1993)
Manufactured to appeal, didn't work
I totally forgot about this cartoon until i came across an article about 90s cartoons which mentioned Animaniacs. I was in elementary at the time and recall the series being pushed onto a prime time slot for cartoons after school, which resulted in me doing my homework in that time slot. I believe they switched over to weekends at some point but it was a cartoon that didn't appeal to me since it appeared too fabricated, with the 3 characters being "wacky" and causing mayhem for no reason.
I'm surprised by the rating though, since no one in my school really liked the cartoon. I guess different things appeal to different people.
Animal (2023)
Probably the worst movie I've ever seen
You seriously need to question the sanity of the director, producers and even the actors of this film. I'm a bit traumatized by the movie, and Ive seen my fair share of gore. This movie was beyond bad. And the storyline defies logic which makes it even worse. Too many instances where basic questions and clarity in communication would've reduced the screen time from three hours to two hours max. The worst part is the director is planning on a sequel soon.
If you value your hard earned money and your mental health, I would advise you to abstain from watching this 3 and a half hour torture of a film.
Khufiya (2023)
The same Desi Government Agency with Tabu script
Superwoman Tabu works for an Indian Government agency, calls the shots, has personal issues, gives a few stoic scenes, agency triumphs. The end. Thank you for watching.
Its the same formula on repeat and its gotten stale. Since these streaming platforms have pivoted their business model to produce rather than pay royalty, they've come up with 6-7 scripts that they recycle on a regular basis. Their aim is to keep the viewers occupied, and prevent them from canceling subscriptions. I guess its working for them so no need to fix something thats not broken.
The TLDR: If you have nothing better to do, go take a walk.
Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives (2020)
Sushant ko toh maar Diya, ab hamein maar do
Wtf was this? I swear that I'll never watch another Karan Johar/Dharma Production movie or show ever again. If you value your life and want to save precious hours of it, please avoid at all costs
