A splendid movie
21 May 2009
Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant are marvelous together in this movie. I could not take my eyes off from watching them perform. Cary is great with comedy. Ingrid, I was amazed how she performed in this role. She was absolutely fantastic. Her famous line, "How dare he make love to me and not be a married man," is hilarious. Cecil Parker and Phyllis Calvert who played Anna's brother-in-law and sister are very entertaining. David Kossoff and Meg Jenkins who played the housekeepers are excellent in their parts. Everyone seemed to fit in so well which made the movie what it is, splendid in every way. I cannot say enough about this movie. All I can say, is don't miss it. You will enjoy every minute of it.

Ingrid is Beautiful, as Usual
15 January 2007
If I didn't adore Ingrid so much I wouldn't bother giving my opinion of this dreary film. First of all, Charles Boyer was absolutely terrible in this. Ingrid's beauty and superb acting carried the story. Because of her I kept watching it, hoping something good would come out of it. I won't say what the ending was, but it was stupid. Louis Calhern's acting (he played with Ingrid in Notorious, you remember), also was of the best. And Charles Laughton who had a small role. Boyer was great with Ingrid in Gaslight, but certainly not in this role. I can honestly say that no matter what Ingrid Bergman stars in, she always makes the film better than what it is.

A Love Story set in the West
8 July 2006
The Angel and the Badman is one of my favorite John Wayne movies. It has romance as well as action in it and John Wayne handles both very well. As a macho-type guy, John Wayne plays Quirt Evans perfectly. He falls in love with a woman, Gail Russell, and just watching him play that part, one can truly enjoy Wayne's character, since he plays in very few love stories. However, this one is done very well and John and Gail together are perfectly matched. I have seen many John Wayne movies. Some of them I enjoyed very much and others I did not. But this movie, in my opinion, is one of John Wayne's best. He proves that he can handle a romantic role and any woman watching this film, I can honestly say, would love to be in John Wayne's arms. He's quite a kisser! Don't miss this film.

A Delightful Movie
6 April 2006
Penelope Ann Miller is excellent in the part of a small town country doctor. I just loved the storyline and also the guy who fell in love with her. They were so well matched. I particularly liked this movie because it did not contain violence. It was about love between two people and also the funny parts of their relationship. The movie held my interest to the very end. I don't want to say much more because I may give the story away, especially the ending, which I found very touching and heart warming. I cannot say enough about Penelope Ann Miller whom I consider a superb actress. She was absolutely delightful to watch in this movie which I thought was made just for her.

The electricity in this film between Bergman and Cooper is evident in every scene!
16 October 2004
I would rate this film high on my list of Ingrid Bergman films. Ingrid's beauty aside, her talent is evident in scene after scene. She was sad, mean, witty,

snobbish, flirtatious, delightfully funny, loving, tender, sorrowful, distressed, happy, etc. You name it, she was all those things and more. -And so

convincing. Ingrid plays a notorious woman (Clio) who comes back to New

Orleans and falls for a Texas gambler, Gary Cooper (Clint). I especially loved the scene where they are sitting at the dining table saying nothing, just staring at each other. She, in an elegant white gown and he in a handsome white cowboy

outfit, sitting there looking at her adoringly. What chemistry! What love!
