Welcome to the Oscar Isaac show
12 September 2021
This was hands down one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. It was intense, violent (two things that I normally don't like about movies) it was beautifully shot, surprisingly romantic, thought provoking and emotional.

The torture scenes are tough to look at yet interestingly shot.

Hands down this was Oscar Isaac's greatest performance. Some of his best moments came when he didn't even have to speak a word. His body language and eyes told and showed you exactly what was going on.

Tye Sheridan was wonderful. The chemistry between Oscar and Tye's characters was like a beautiful father son relationship.

Only real criticism in this movie, Tiffany Haddish was SEVERLY miscast in this movie. I wish a more seasoned actress has taken this role. But I guess if an more seasoned actress had the role instead of Tiffany then Oscar would have had to share the spotlight. In this movie there is one spotlight, and its Oscar Isaac's.

I can't wait to see it again.

I have fallen madly in love with this beautiful heartwarming funny and somewhat tragic story. You will too. No wonder it won an Oscar.

This is one of my all time favorite mini series. Beautifully written and acted. Such a powerful and tragic story. This is one of those that when you see it you can't help but be changed. I learned a lot by watching this series. Have tissue close by.

Soooooo good.

This is one of my favorite movies. It's good because it's a movie that you can easily picture a prequel and a sequel. Oscar was incredible, one of his best performances. I had never seen a movie with Jessica Chastain untill this movie and she was fantastic. Great story, great acting.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm almost angry about how bad it was. Oscar Isaac was severely under used (yet he was terrific because he's Oscar Freaking Isaac). I thought there were way too many loose ends that were never tied up and fully told. What was the point to Jean Smarts character? I thought that it was odd that half the movie was in English and half was in Spanish. I had high hopes that this would be the movie where Oscar finally gets an academy award nomination......not so sure now. So let me get this straight, Dylan Dempsey (Olivia Cooke who sang the worst and most insulting version of "to make you feel my love" that I have ever heard, Bob Dylan and Garth Brooks are owed a massive apology) ended up married to the guy who caused her mom's death and her dad to end up in the nut house and eventually kill himself? I could go on and on. That's the last time I get duped by such great trailers.

Riveting
16 September 2018
Oscar Isaac in this movie is endearing, sweet, strong. He plays the hero and leader perfectly, like he always does. Sir Ben Kingsley is just phenomenal. He humanizes a monster....not an easy task. Nick Kroll is funny, yet deeply moving in what seems like simple moments in the movie that no one will notice. I could go on and on. The only criticism I have is it does not tie up some of the loose ends. I felt like the relationship between Hanna and Peter was not developed at all. What was the point? All in all, go see this movie.
