Worst Film Ever
6 February 2024
This is, by far, the dumbest, dullest, all over the place, disjointed excuse for a movie I have ever watched in my lifetime. I got so bored with time and dimension jumps I had to fight the desire to fall asleep. The stupid names, such as Amazo, is indicative of how feeble and unimaginative DC has been for decades and continues to be. DC has always stolen ideas from Marvel, then changed the name be it a hero, villain, or setting. Even after stealing the idea, DC manages to make it not work as well as Marvel. Who would name a character "Amazo?" How utterly ridiculous, just as the writing and plot of this waste of my life. There are a number of unanswered questions, which will have nothing to do with Part 2 of this nonsensical crap.

Do not waste your retinas on this absolute garbage. I rented this trash and wish that I could obtain a triple refund to pay for the time I wasted. If you read my other reviews you will find that I do not hand out one-star ratings lightly.

Another Feminist Fail
27 August 2023
Feminism has destroyed many great franchises. This movie is no exception. The female lead is horrific. She is extremely bland with zero acting skills. Will Smith would have delivered her lines with far more energy, gravitas, and sincerity. She just spoke her lines with the same monotone voice throughout the film. It was like watching a child's play at an elementary school. The pawn was the best character in the movie.

They achieved the only thing they cared about, a female boss, a female lead, and a female villain. Making a good movie was not a consideration.

I need 34 additional characters to submit this review. Mission accomplished.

One of the best documentaries I've seen
19 March 2023
People who track this incident over the years may not be as impressed as I am with this documentary. I truly enjoyed the balanced approach and how logic was used to rule out wild speculation. I agree with the "speculative" conclusion eluded to toward the end of the documentary. Based on the information presented, I have a logical explanation regarding what some may view as remaining unanswered questions. Imagine you decide to force people to freeze to death and notice someone managed to build a fire. You would likely think plan "A" isn't working out as intended. Therefore, you go to there location and finish any survivors off. Again, this is my own speculation.

Expedition Phony Suspense
29 May 2022
What a dumb show. They inject ridiculously loud dramatic booms that rattle my subwoofer as though this is a Friday 13th horror film. These dumb musical effects added for shock value makes this show come across as phony, which it is. I don't see how this show ran more than one season.

If there are a tribe of Bigfoot there, they are probably laughing amongst themselves as they watch these loud people with camera equipment stalk about in the woods while whispering so loud they can be heard a mile away by any creature with heightened sight, smell, and hearing.

The Bigfoot might be saying "Watch this" to their children. Then toss a rock and laugh at the humans' reaction. LOL.

Pretty stupid movie
15 March 2022
"Hey homicidal maniacs. Let's go to my place and order pizza. Whaddaya say?"

It has some action eye candy. But the overall film falls flat in a multitude of ways. The CGI of Spider-Man, the Lizard, and others is horrendous. It is reminiscent of the cartoon characters in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But at least in the Roger Rabbit movie, you were expecting to see cartoon characters.

I guess Hollywierd has run out of tricks. So they reverted to the equivalent of pulling rabbits out of hats and sawing pretty ladies in half in a box. There is nothing new or perplexing here. Just a bunch of nonsensical, illogical writing and obviously bad decisions that defy common sense.

I dozed off a couple of times. If you do not watch this movie you will not miss anything. If you decide to watch it, enjoy the cartoony CGI fest and boring humor.

Refreshing Change
4 March 2022
Overall the movie is predictable and pretty ordinary. But it was also refreshing to see Donnie Yen in this role. I am certain as he ages he can't go around beating up the world.

I liked the family elements in this film, which are universal. I think they did a decent job of exploring various difficulties that many families struggle with.

I found this change of pace to be refreshing versus a never ending conveyor belt of Asian martial arts films.

A favorite of mine is "Eat Drink Man Woman"

Anyway, if all you want is martial arts, you won't find much of it here, some, but not much. If you want to see how we all are the same no matter what language we speak and we face the same challenges, you might enjoy this film.

Black Mirror: Hated in the Nation (2016)
Season 3, Episode 6

Among my favorites
18 February 2022
I enjoyed this Black Mirror episode.

I did, however, grow tired of the ridiculously frequent use of the "f" word. They seem to throw it in at random just in case someone missed it the last three times they said it. I wonder why swearing is viewed as "Mature language." It was almost non stop at times.

Although there is room for improvement, overall, I enjoyed this episode. If you have the time and are in the mood for a longer episode, I recommend this one as worth a watch.

I learned another way I don't want to die. Lol.

The jokes were ridiculous
6 February 2022
Why is Michael White so fat now? It was like watching the Pillsbury Doughboy tossing sloppy roundhouse kicks. They had to make the feminists happy and make the piggy lady put yo be the hardest opponent. What a joke. The jokes at the beginning of the movie turned me off. I've always liked the lead's fighting style. I also liked Michael White's fighting style until he decided to get puggie and slow..

I'd say the movie is worth a watch if you just want to see as one action mixed in with slapstick comedy.

Very good direction, writing, and acting.
6 February 2022
I'm impressed by this series. It seems slow at times but not boringly slow. The flashbacks were integrated exceedingly well, which is surprising considering how often they occur. This impressed me the most. It's hard to have numerous jumps in time and still maintain continuity. But they pulled it off well.

The acting is addictive coupled with strong writing that fits the times and the scenes. I'm not sure what specifically could have improved this series. But I feel there could have been something done a bit better. I'm just not sure what that is.

This series sets a good example of how to make an interesting show. It has many elements and touches on many aspects of life in small town America. It has an authentic feel. Of course your heart goes out to the children.

What was that?
8 January 2022
The end fight was interesting. There was too much so-called comedy. It was like watching a Seinfeld episode but not as funny. The comedy seemed like the main theme and extremely out of place. The plot was beyond stupid. I didn't care for most of this film. I just sat through most of it like a zombie and watched it go by. They ruined a film that could have been great.

Can I have my life back?

What a stupid movie. Even the weapons at the end were stupid. Who would fight with massively clunky weapons? Ever since Ip Man, the greatest martial arts film in recent history, they keep making these ridiculous Wang Chun wannabe films.

What a stupid movie
1 January 2022
This is by far the dumbest movie I've seen in some time. I'm ashamed to say I paid to rent this garbage. The writers should be exiled.

Crappy writing. Dumb plot. Bad acting. The mother is way over the top with her disdain. I blame the writers for this.

Do not waste your time with this lower than B movie film.

Great movie! Slow at times.

This film has the greatest opening Bond chase scene in the history of the franchise. Watching Bond and the bad guy run in the construction area was phenomenal. The casting is great, including the villain(s).

What a fail!
25 December 2021
This garbage doesn't compare to the previous Mattix films. I didn't see the purpose of half the characters at all. The few characters that had a purpose were terribly written.

Why did they make this crappy film in the first place? Since they decided to make it, why did they make it so poorly? It's hard to see such an exhilarating franchise devolve into this landfill of a movie.

I'm glad I watched this at home for free, which wasted less of my life. This is a stupid, pointless film. Don't waste your time. You are not missing anything other than disappointment.

Good movie with drawbacks

Good movie. Acting or writing leaves much to be desired in several segments. The robots are more interesting than the people.

Unforgettable (2011–2016)

Interesting concept. Forgettable show.
20 September 2021
Mediocre show. I'm also not a fan of fake, injected lips.

The star's boss/former lover allows her to basically do whatever she wants. I've never seen a NYPD lead simply allow their ranks to do whatever they please.

The corny comedic dialogue is a distraction. They also basically disappeared the bosses current lover for no stated reason.

I just watched a scene in Season 1 Episode 19. A murder occurs. At 8:40 seconds in a lady is identifying the body. While standing Six feet from a murder victim she just identified, two of the cops are asking her questions about the dead person. Rather than being in shock she is very casual in her responses as though she did not just identify a dead body who is still laying there in front of her. The writing for this show sucks.

There was a previous episode where a murder of a female tennis player just occurred and the cops are cracking jokes in front of the person who just said goodnight to the victim seconds before the victim is gunned down around the corner. The body is still laying in the street and they are making jokes in front of this person who appears to be distraught. The jokes in this moment are stupid, unfunny, and unnecessary.

I also don't like shows based in NYC when all of the actors sound like they are from Los Angeles versus having an East Coast accent.. If you can't act an east coast accent, then you can't act period.

Just freaking WOW!!!
17 September 2021
This is a hard movie to watch and a hard movie to ignore. Everything about this film is on point from the writing to the casting and the setting to the acting.

My heart broke more than once while watching this film. It especially broke when the mother was harming herself and the father burst into tears.

This is a spectacular film. The realism is what gets you. The tragedies are what move you.

Fairly boring satire
27 July 2021
Nothing innovative here. Predictable from credits to credits. There are some funny elements to this movie. I view it as a spoof on action films, or satire, which is why I did not deduct more points in my rating.

I waited until I watched everything worth watching before renting this movie. Although it isn't the worst movie I've seen, it lacks anything memorable.

If you don't watch this movie you are not missing anything as this movie fails to deliver. I see what they were going for but they didn't achieve it. The nonsense with the pillow wall along with several other things were supposed to be funny, I guess. It just looked odd versus funny. The family's lackluster reaction after coming out of the basement is synonymous with my lackluster response to this movie. Also, you would expect people, especially children, who are not accustomed to seeing dead bodies to be a lot more animated and flabbergasted when they do see one (or several) versus just seemingly somewhat surprised and then shrug it off. That was one of many poorly directed scenes.

I have no feelings for this movie, good or bad. I didn't like it or hate it. It was just there. Watching this movie is like drinking water when you are not thirsty or rinsing soap off of your hands. You just do it without much thought or feeling. I do not recall a single memorable moment from this movie. I also sometimes wonder if Russians and Italians get tired of seeing themselves portrayed as mobsters here in the US in virtually every movie like this. Can you imagine growing up and seeing your culture consistently demonized by Hollywood for decades with no end in sight? "Hey. Let's make another movie where the hero fights an Eastern European or Italian mob." "That's brilliant!" "We will have the hero single handedly kill slews of them as though no one in the mob can shoot strait or fight well." "Wow!! That' is so genius!"

I hope this review helps your decision.

Wahlberg sucks again. Plot holes galore.
24 July 2021
Question: if you make a weapon and someone steals it, what prevents you from making another one versus searching the cosmos for the one that was stolen?

Wahlberg is a terrible actor in several movies. This is one of them. Great actors transform themselves into the role. Wahlberg is always just Wahlberg in a costume. He never transforms into the character. I've gotten to the point where I find his narrative voice irritating. He sounds awful as a narrator.

This is a generic movie that wasn't well thought out. It could have been much better. Oh well.

Love It or List It (2008–2023)

Too many stupid clients
11 July 2021
After watching the majority of home owners decide to "love it" I found this show to be mundane. No matter what David finds rarely have seen an owner choose to list it even if it is obviously an exceptionally better value than the junk they live in.

Many of the renovations look nice, but they don't include important things a newer home offers such as a new roof, or hundreds of additional square feet. Since I basically know that 90 percent of the homeowners are not going to list it, there is no suspense.

The utterly ridiculous decisions to remain in a smaller, older renovated home almost every time grew tiresome to watch. The home owners obviously staged pros and cons discussions are a joke. The phony "new value" of the renovated homes always show an instant 120 - 140 percent return on investment ROI which is ludicrous.

I also grew tired of couples who want to buy a perfect home in a perfect location without the budget to afford it. They have the appetite of a king but a Charlie Brown wallet.

Poorly choreographed garbage
9 July 2021
Most of the fight scenes look like they are counting to one second before each so-called blow. At times the defender is in the correct blocking position before the punch or kick is thrown. I won't even go into the horrible same-ole plot of street gangs and gritty looking crime bosses.

Unlike Ip Man and Ong Bak 2 where the fights are fluid and amazing, this garbage does not meet any standard.

So stupid
27 June 2021
This is by far the dumbest plot I've seen in some time. Groups of people simply wandering around killing each other at random. Of course this results in more zombies and fewer comrades to fight them off.

What an utterly stupid plot. Each episode is the same. Either a bunch of talking about nothing or never ending shootouts. I wonder how they manage to carry an endless supply of ammo.

"Hey! Over there! It's a bunch of people!!! Let's go there and shoot them all. Then let's shoot them again when they become zombies." "Wow! That's an excellent idea!!!" "Don't worry. We will miraculously find more ammo along the way no matter where we go." "Also, when they are dead we will have less people to rebuild society." "You are a genius."

Best of the franchise thus far!
29 May 2021
Wow! This is by far one of the most captivating sci-if action films I've seen. The writing is great. The sets looked spectacular. The action had me on the edge of my seat.

This is such a great movie. Sci-if, action, horror, and suspense all rolled into one. "Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?" "No, have you?" (best line ever).

Great movie!
6 May 2021
I was movie surfing on one of the streaming services and happened upon this title. It seemed cheesy but I decided to give it a try. Wow! I am so glad I did.

This film is well cast, well written and extremely well acted. The special needs piece was the icing on the cake.

The pace felt organic. The moving parts initially seemed disjointed but quickly fell into place. The action is a thrill ride. The movie felt well balanced between character development, plot development, and action.

If you haven't seen this movie you are missing out on a hidden action gem.

Pleasantly Surprised.
1 May 2021
Eddie Murphy may have missed his calling as a dramatic actor. He played the role well. I hope he continues to explore this side of his talent. This is a touching movie. I can go as high as 7 or 8 stars, but not ten. Ten would mean this is among the best dramas ever made. It is a very good movie, but it is not among the ten star dramas I've seen. Very close but not quite.

If you are in the mood for a family connection movie with a very sad undertone, you will likely love this film.
