Halloween Kills (2021)
Sequels DIE TONIGHT Please!!
When the movie began I could of not been more excited for the first 5 mins at least. The opening cinematography, the opening credits showing
Moustapha Akkad's name finally in the same font and just finally something that came as close to the original 1978 horror as ive ever seen. The opening scene even plays homage to the 1978 opening scene where Michaels parents come home and they just all freeze and stare at
him. Now if they just did this for the first orginal sequal other then Rob Zombies garbage then we might be onto something. There is a Reason why all the sequels have gotten worse and worse since the original. When you try to add complexity to a simplex movie and try to understand the reasoning why Michale Myers Never dies then you have just destroyed any hopes of this movie being anywhere close to more then 1 star. When you have the nerd from
Breakfast club in a horror sequal screaming Evil dies tonight, Im sorry but this then became a comedy which is the reason why David Gordon Green should of stayed. He has no right to direct, produce or be involved in any Halloween sequels. If there is anybody out there that saw this move and thought that this was in any "Shape" Good, Scary, or thought provoking then you never really understood or knew why the original was a classic. You are probably a Millennial with no sense of simplicity, true terror, thematic horror, cinematic eye pleasing scenes. This movie was pretty much a bunch of clips thrown together to ensure that it made its release for October which is the only thing this garage did right. Jamie Lee
Curtis has just got to stop being in the sequels and stop embarrassing herself. If you watch her in the original and then watch her non sense performances of her past two performances she has completely forgot what Halloween stands for and why we remember every line she said.
I cant even begin to tell you one line she said as trust me you dont want too. This is a mess and the only thing it Kills is two hours of my life that i want back. Seriously dont go or see this movie if you are a true Halloween 1978 fan and understand why you cant ever try to Kill Michael Myers but please stop these sequels as that is what Kills me and David Gordon Green you dont get horror or know what it means to be a director that knows what he is doing. Your thoughts are delusional. Go back to comedy and whatever dumb show you work on. Just realize that Stewart tbe guy who goes look at what i can do is in this movie!! N.
Halloween (2018)
It's a Trick not a Treat
Yes the title says it all, yes once again we are all gonna be tricked into the hype of another Halloween sequel. Do not fall for the hype of this once again failed attempt to somehow recreate the original. Please STOP trying, if you pay money to see this garbage you will be once again, if a true Halloween 1978 original, be not only sadly disappointed but you will be even more embarrassed you even thought you would get some satisfaction as you did from the original. It's all about the money and Jamie lee Curtis should be embarrassed about that awful performance. It's about money and I'm sure all her money she made in the 90's is obviously gone and like most actors who do not invest their money, they have to look pathtic onscreen when they are 70 and broke just to make a paycheck. Whoever started the rumer by saying Carpenter gave this trash his stamp of approval is really what the true trick was. He wouldn't be caught dead on the red carpet with anyone of these actors who sold their souls to this movie and once again embarrassed the Halloween name. The only good thing this movie did was being released it in October when the movie Halloween should be released. Everything you saw in the thousand previews is what you see in this movie. I'm literally embarrassed to even still be a Halloween movie fan because it's been destroyed once again and now the joke is all on us. I shame anyone that gives this movie more than 1 star on here because if you see that it's a robot making fake reviews just to get you in the seat. When you see this movie advertised so many times that is a sign that they are trying to do anything they can just to get you into that seat but please I'm telling you as your average semi real everyday movie critic who knows a good movie when I see one please save your money and don't give this movie any money as it's just one giant money making trick and has not a second of any actual real old school substance. Trust me your thinking how could David Gordon green know anything about horror, well shocker he doesn't. He is East bown and down right a joke to have any say in a franchise like this one. From the editing to the horrid use of the original score that was probably better if no score was even used at all to the poor acting, poorly use of comedy, to the obvious use of making sure to get all races their due and their part, it's Hollyween Hollyweird Hollywood trash and once again all about money. Save your money and wait for this to come on AMC in about a month when it should becuae even if this movie was one AMC right now for free I would turn the channel and watch Dateline instead. Happy Halloween, oh guess what Michael dies at the end once again. Shocker! Trash, just stop trying please just stop.
Gotti (2018)
The Crapper John
Just an FYI any review over a 3 star is fake so after you get done reading the entire fake "Entourage" friend of Mr Director is that is even what you should call him read this real review who knows everything about John Gotti. What you see on screen is a iPhone googled TV script of no substance no direction with nothing new that I have not already heard on A&e or 60 minutes 20 times. I know for sure John Gotti is turning over in his grave from this garbage. If you watched A&E's Godfather and Son then you already saw this movie as this director pretty much sat down with John Gotti Jr or even watched that series and said I can make a movie about this. If you see at the end of that 4 part series you see them on set and you see the director with his IPhone taking to Travolata as I swear he shot this movie from his phone and used movieshop editing app. Travolta does a "nice" job as Junior says. I can't even go on to even waste more time thinking about this junk anymore as from the first minute I wanted leave as every real clip they showed you have seen they show over and over, nothing new. For the music I swear they went thru the list of songs that were cheap and just placed them in there with no meaning or syncope to the scene. Eric do us all a favor and go back to playing Mr Agent in Entourage and please don't get that world confused with the real movie making world and actually think you have a clue of what you were doing out there as the Gambino family Should hun you down for even putting this crap on screen hence the Crapper John tittle.
A Quiet Place (2018)
Any score above a 3 IS A HOLLYWOOD BOT!!!
John Krazinski should know his limits. He should of stayed in the office and kept making those stupid faces into the Camera instead of putting his little intellect or any cinematic intelligence/experiece into movie making. I guess he thought having a baby in real life gave him some type of inspiration to think he actually knew what he was doing. He is a D Star A star wanna be and thinks that it's the cool thing to do in Hollywood by moving from acting to directing. He never really could act in the first place so why the hell would he even be given the chance to think he can direct. Oh I forgot from his great experience he had from the Office and having the cameras wait for him to make that stupid face every time Michale did something. We seriously have the guy from The Office making movies?! Wow, we need to make our new slogan to be Make Movies Great Again! Do not fall for any of these fake reviews and if anyone that saw this movie thinks that this deserves more then 1 star then we are all heading into a scary world of the cinamatic experience. If you are seriously even considering and thinking that any positive review is real, do yourself a favor and take that $15/$30 dollars go buy a can of paint and paint your wall and watch that dry for 2 hours and I guarantee you will have a better experience then sitting watching this disgrace of a movie. I don't even know where to begin to criticize the plot, acting, dialogue, editing because it is not even worth a discussion. Roger Ebert is turning over in his grave reading any positive review for this garbage. Hollywood Hoax!!!!!!!
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
The Force Awoke, But the Entire Theater Was ASLEEP!!!
ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY!!!! Do you not understand why they kept this piece of crap so secret? Because they didn't want all us nerds to learn how they have once again destroyed this Empire, Why are we just seeing clips of the movie for all the Trailers? Why did every Star Wars Trailer Turn into a commercial for a Car, or Food, or yes even MakeUP??? Really, because if they showed any of the scenes in this movie know body would go see it. Yes People will still flock to the movie, and why because they make you see star Wars everywhere you turn. Its not about Plots, Characters, Emotion, Sorrow, Happieness, Excitement, Thrills, and the Chills anymore, its about how can we make the most money possible. Disney is a business and do you think they really care if this movie will move us like the original one did to me 20 years ago????? NO they just want you to buy the paraphernalia and click that movie ticket. Do NOT buy into the hype and try to have them pull another Jedi mind trick and make you think Abrams has done something new and original. He didn't he took something and copied it, just like he did in SUPER 8 from Spielberg and ET. He is a fraud. And he should be ashamed that he has once again destroyed the Black Star of this Empire that seems to fail us all once again. Do not go see this movie, wait until its out on TV for Free, Trust me you will be disappointed Just like you were for the past 15 years. JJ Abrams is a Fraud.
Rush (2013)
Rushed to leave the theater.
Trust me I am the biggest Ron Howard fan and I went into this movie with nothing but pure excitement and high expectations. Maybe that is what I did wrong, expecting the usual Ron Howard film, but I was sadly disappointed with his work on this one. I will be the first to let you know a good movie from the next and I am really surprised with all the high ratings for this movie, but I was very disappointed with this one. Yes, you get great shots from the drivers perspective, okay racing scenes, decent character development, but not your leave the theater in deep thought and feeling like I took something with me from the theater like mostly all Ron Howard films. I actually saved the ticked stub right after I purchased it as a kind of memento to say I saw this film in the theaters, maybe 20 years down the road, but I actually threw this stub away in major disappointment that I Just spent 11.50 for this movie. yes, the plot is there, and I understand its a true story between these 2 racers, but this should have made it even more excellent of a movie that Ron Howard takes on. I should have known when I saw three other companies that were part producers of this movie besides Imagine, that right there should of shown that Ron didn't have full say when it came down to certain decisions. Has Ron finally sold out for money, instead of great film. It seems that way, and I have lost a lot of respect from him from this film he just put out. I had a feeling since I haven't heard much about this movie from the word of mouth movie chatter that I normally pick up on, I thought maybe it was because everyone has broken bad and that is all there was to talk about, but I see now that I couldn't even be excited to start a conversation or be involved excitedly to discuss this movie with friends or family. I gave it 6 and that's pretty good just based on the okay visuals you get and how hard it is to shoot fast driving scenes. Say it ain't so Ron, is this what we should be expecting from here on out. What is with all the other partnering companies we saw with your Iconic IMAGINE company in the beginning of the film? Remember when we use to see just that one single IMAGINE logo before all of your other movies and there we knew we were in for a great one? Im not sure where these other band wagon companies came from but please just make sure your next movie is from IMAGINE alone or I can Imagine Ron Howard losing all his credibility for great movie making.
Flight (2012)
No Jet Lag In this One!!! Must See
Flight 2012 Robert Zemekis
Flight lands in theaters today and I just walked out of the theater on a high after seeing this modern day real life story. There will be no jet lag from this drama that portrays the main character "Whip" played by Denzel Washington with a performance to be talked about. Flight takes you on a journey about an addict coming to ties with his lifestyle and the need for the constant adrenaline rush and using substance to cope with life's trials and tribulations. . The story depicted closely resembles real-life events occurred in 2001, when Canadian Captain Robert Piche skillfully glided a fuel-less Airbus 330 to a safe landing, saving 306 passengers from a certain crash. Becoming an overnight hero, he quickly learned the other side of fame when a journalist exposed his long forgotten criminal past and private life. However the plane never flew inverted. The film mirrors his life story, not the events of the landing Robert Zemekis best known for Back to the Future, shows great use of symmetry between flying high in the air and needing that adrenalin rush, compared to getting high from chemical substances dealing with life. This is one of Robert Zemkis's first live-action movies since Cast Away as well as his first rated R movie since Used Cars. This movie has strong language, drug-use and sexual content, which is needed to show real life and what it is like to overcome drug addiction. Denzel Washington gives us an academy award performance from what I will think he will win over Daniel Day-Lewis in Lincoln. Although I feel Lincoln will probably take the best picture award this year, being directed by Steven Spielberg, Flight will defiantly be in the running. This may be the best performance of a drunk I have seen in a long time without the cliché slurring and stumbling over one's self. You can tell Denzel did his homework on how to play someone who just drank a case of beer and two fifths of Vodka. Flight is 2 hours and 18 mins long but you are glued to the screen from the very beginning and I even felt myself clinching to the seat as if I were on the plane itself. Flight shows the struggles and challenges of an addict and what can be lost from drugs and drinking. It shows how addiction will have its consequence without you even knowing it and that there will come a time when you have to come to grips with reality and stop lying to ones self. It is a movie of today and even has the first Iphone I have seen in a movie in a long time. I give this movie a 88 out of 100 based on my popcorn chart that I would like to start if anyone will give me a freelance job to review movies. I wish to one day have my own review in a paper such as yours with my own column. I am a recovering addict which I feel why this movie hit me so hard, but I am clean and sober now for 6 months and starting my new life. I would recommend everyone from all walks of life to see this and experience first hand the life of an addict, and what it can take from you, but untimely in the end its about what you can take from it.
