Happy Death Day (2017)
A pretty decent horror comedy
This might be the best adaptation of "Groundhog Day"
It's not extraordinarily funny neither is it extraordinarily horrific.
It's a delightful balance of both.
A comfortable movie to watch.
Race 3 (2018)
Your worst action flick
No story, no acting, no direction, made a cheap movie which might look glamorous on screen and hoping that Salman Khan's fans will pay to watch it.
Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016)
Even women have fantasies too!
It looks like the production house feels there is a different meaning of the team "Women Empowerment".
I saw the producers promoting this movie on a talk show and they said that this movie is all about women empowerment and I decided to produce this as soon as I read the script.
I watched this movie a bit late but I'm very certain had I gone to the premier I would have felt the same.
A movie where a woman is shown all powerful and capable and strong is an example of women empowerment. Example being wonderwoman. However a movie where some women are shown to be sexually fantasizing about men, shoplifting, and unable to stand-up to their partner for feeling uncomfortable in bed does not in any way speaks women empowerment. It is a movie centered around women but it does not show them in any way as empowered. As long as a move goes, the acting was good and so was direction but the script felt a bit too weak at the knees. In a country where crimes against women are soaring by the day, she will feel good if she gets to see a strong woman, even if its only on screen. But this is not a movie where she can feel good. It feels like just another day in the life of some women.
Brothers (2015)
Brothers is a remake of WARRIORS but it is no WARRIORS
If you look close, one in every four movies from akshay kumar is a remake, yet he fails at this one terribly. It goes without saying Sidharth Malhotra is no TOM HARDY. Akshay Kumar can be credited for 10% of what Joel Edgerton did.
The movie starts out at very slow pace and fails very bluntly when it picks it up. Actors work is not commendable but they did make an effort for their looks, female leads are mere props. Jackie Schroff plays a pretty good drunk, maybe he was when did those shoots. Story is similar to WARRIORS with the few shakes here and there you expect from bollywood.
All in all, there are better things I could've done over the weekend instead of watching this grand faliure of a remake like FINDING THE MISSING EMPIRE OF ATLANTIS or SEARCING FOR ALIENS.
Pacific Rim (2013)
Brilliant
Guillermo del Toro, a guy who know what the audience wants and delivers it. I'll not be wrong if I says that he did absolute justice to the actors and the effect. Brilliantly directed movie with exact amount of human to make it a nice movie and sci-fi action to keep your feet off the ground. You are informed at the very beginning that what has been happening and what can you expect and trust me you will not be disappointed. The story revolves around humans fighting for their existence against monsters AKA Kaiju who are being sent to the earth through another dimension as a grid opened up and linked our world to theirs. I'd says it was the finest action movie of the year so far.
No disrespect KHAN and IRON MAN.
Runner Runner (2013)
Old fashioned disaster
Its a simple old school movie, one kinda bad guy trying to set things straight for himself, then there is a bad guy, then there is the bad guy's girl and at last a cop who's been after the bad guy for a while. Bad guy takes a hero under his covers teaches him, the cop asks the hero to partner with him, the girl kinda falls for our hero and as usual the bad guy tries to frame the hero but ends up being in prison as the cop arrests him because of the bad guy. I mean come on... Mr. Brad Furman, you directed The Lincoln layer. What went wrong ? Justin Timberlake, you act as good as a Capuchin. Your only strong suit, your dance is nowhere in the movie. Ben Affleck you should have switched places with Brad Furman, you made Argo, give the guy some advice. And at last, Gemma, I have my doubts about you being British, what happened to you, it was a few weeks when I saw Byzantium. Thanks you Mr. Brad Furman, for ruining a good old fashioned concept.
Rain Man (1988)
