Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
Good fun
OK let's not take this too seriously here. It's mortal kombat, the story sticks to the game (Street Fighter take note) and the fight scenes are pretty much brilliant for the time, and I'm a Bruce lee/tony jaa fan. Yes the special effects are HORRENDOUS and the acting is pretty bad sometimes...SOMETIMES.Although no excuse can be made for the script. We get to see basically all of the important MK characters (except, sadly, the return of shang and goro) all fulfilling their roles which they had in the game, which of coarse leads to them being rushed in and eventually under used. I like the general colour and fun atmosphere of it though,Emacs red, scorpions yellow, and of coarse liu kang being decimated by smoke for some reason in a very good fight scene.
But forget all of this, enjoy the movie for what its supposed to be, a colourful action packed pop corn flick So go out, grab an 8 pack and a friend, spark up and ENJOY!
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
10 Stars,The best film I've EVER seen!!!!
Let me tell you something,This is a "must see" film,A fantastic, humorous,Terrific display of Comedy and Pure wit, with a pretty good story(which you don't find out exactly 'till the end,But thats not why you watch it!!) You may find some SPOILERS in here
With quote such as "We're coming to get you Barbara!!" and many similarities To Romeros Dead Trilogy(including ,obviously, the zombies),this is an amazing comedy from the minds of comic genius's It has a Better feel to it because its not an American based film With American style camera and language,Brilliant acting (Ed will have you Erupting like an enormous volcano of Laughter)
The part where Shaun Walks to the shop and doesn't even notice the pedestrians sprinting in terror, and the zombies stalking him while he goes, really makes you think "They're not that Dangerous" ..But when they are up close in the bar,and Shaun/Liz/Ed Think they're safe, when zombie come through the swivel door,Shaun Shouts out exactly what your thinking("Oh,Give us a F*****g Break!!")..they aren't that harmless any more...
Shaun and Ed Produce Hilarious Lines(A lot of them Written By themselves i believe)Such as where they are throwing things at the Two Corpses in their garden, and flick through their records, while deciding which ones to through such as ,saying Brilliant Dialogue such as "No thats a classic" and "Well I like it!!" Grumpy Pete(you MUST see the Extra "funky" Pete feature on the DVD version) Plays a Great Part as a ...wait for it...GRUMPY PERSON,and a great big Killjoy who gets what he deserves(you can see why hes so angry though..)!!!A Fantastic Performance By all,With great scenery, and some music taken from the Dead trilogy itself
The Ending is a little bland...But apart from that,Working Title Have shown us yet another Gem
Well done to everyone involved.
A CERTAIN 10 Stars,No doubt.
WrestleMania XX (2004)
Hmmmm,I've seen better
Ill keep this short because I'm in a rush, but most of the matches were the material of a regular show,Smackdown right now is a waste of time and space but as for the most recent wrestlemania, there's one match 1 have a very, VERY bad opinion on,no,not an opinion,a FACT.
Needless to say,the match in question is the one Between Brock Lesnar,And Bill Goldberg,This could easily have been the greatest match in WWE history, forget that goddamn Hulk hogan, hes far too slow, here you have two huge powerhouses,Great athletes,Lesnar Being a wrestling champion(easily the best in the world,in any weight, admitted by even kurt angle)
What we get, while waiting for a monumental performance,is a series of shoulder barges, two spears, and F-5 and a Jackhammer....The match was pathetic..Lesnar was capable for so much more,as was goldberg.
As for the Triple threat main event Between C.benoit HBK and TripleH ,this was an entertaining matchup,Nice moves, and NO interference(Its so boring now)
ALL in all,not bad.
Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)
The only thing Cheaper by the dozen is The On-Sale DVD
This Was Sad...as expected,It was complete and utter Excrement
There's always the little sad scene where the Ma and Da really bond and relive the past with those vacant expressions on their face, and you feel embarrassed when watching it with other people, especially if their young teenage boys
"We still got the heat huh?" This is the bit where the Director tries to make a little sad scene...Awwwww...Its really Pathetic, the usual predictable Passionate crap that plagues modern Teenager Films these days.
The predictability of the mother coming back to her children...Its so sweet isn't it?Brings a tear to your eye,At least it would if it hadn't been asleep for the past hour
Then apart from the Children there's that Droopy ,Ugly snarling ,Trouser ripping house pet..............but enough about Hilary Duff....lets talk about the dog,The only decent Actor In the Baker family.
Duff delivers her usual Abysmal Over the Top stereotypical performance(like those annoying Twins Mary Kate and Ashley...why don't they just clear off back to school?!) Hilary constantly Gives those aggravating teenage lines(oh,thats just like sooooo whatever girlfriend!!!!)
I hated this rubbish,I'm guessing ,like the parent trap, the original is much better...
