Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
This is a terrible film
I mean, where to begin, this film is a travesty, the story is awful the acting is awful, Indiana Jones is a side character in his own movie. There is CGI everywhere, and no practical effects like in the older Indiana Jones films. This is a terrible end to Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones films. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is portrayed as Indiana Jones superior in every way. She's not credible in her role though, and comes across as overly confident and obviously fake. She is simply a terrible actress for this movie. I have no idea how anybody thought this film was a good idea. I mostly wish this movie was never made.
Hoffman Family Gold (2022)
Entertaining for all the wrong reasons.
Todd Hoffman, is a bit of a narcissist. He know just enough to think he knows it all, and in reality he is a completely clueless when it comes to mining. He insists on running the equipment when ever anything crucial is about to take place, and he is simply a terrible operator. He has no clue how to lean on the expertise of his crew, he keeps doing the most basic mistakes. He does not know the basics of running machines, maintenance, capabilities, risk factors. He does exactly the wrong things, at precisely the wrong times. This makes him really entertaining to watch though, since he keeps doing the same insanely stupid things over and over.
If he fails at something, he is always blaming the equipment, and the persons standing closest to him.
He has this weird idea, that the only thing that held him back in the past was the quality of the equipment.
But no, It was the naivety of a toddler, falling for scams, and going on wild goose chases without realizing his own limitations.
Luck, will only get you this far. IF he'd hired actual miners to RUN his mine, he would be a success.
But yeah, to sum it up, it's hilarious to see him elaborate and go on about things completely unrelated to the problems he is facing, as if he knows what he's talking about. He has the audacity of talking down the people who actually has half a clue.
Marco effekten (2021)
Department - Q - The man who chews Nicotine-Gum
Righto, new cast and crew,
They work ok, but I do feel the lead is not up to the same standards as the old one. I find him extremely dis-likable due to the constant exaggerated chewing gum chewing, in the most inappropriate settings.
The old Carl, was a bit of an anti-hero, this one, is just anti, and no hero. I feel it's a swing and a miss.
Don't get me wrong, I have read the books, and I do remember how this is portrayed in the books, but it doesn't seem like a believable portrayal. I get stuffing yourself with nicotine gum, but I don't find it believable that a man with the extensive experience like Carl would go into an interview with a child, stuffed full of the things. There is also a lot of sensation of loss, and personal failings, that I feel the character is failing to convey, He mostly seems grumpy, and has none of the sarcastic charm and below the surface hidden intelligence at work he should.
You are never really introduced properly into the other main cast members, and, I was disappointed that there was so little interaction with them. I felt they where extremely well cast in the other films, and this time, apart from Assad, Who does an OK role, don't live up to their former selves.
Sadly, I found this film to be a dreary - Shaky cam - shadow of the other films.
Star Trek: Discovery: Project Daedalus (2019)
This was infuriating.
Right, in Star Trek you have to be a main character to matter...
Example in this episode,
A bi character is chocking, and the protagonist completely ignores her and focuses completely on another. Even though the bi character is chocking and in theory dying. She is given no though..
Super Troopers 2 (2018)
Absolutely terrible parts ruins it for me.
Super Troopers (1) was an awesome an hilarious film, this one is not, it is ruined by having American actors doing terrible accents with actors starring in stereotypical roles. The Canadian Mounties where the big letdown for me, and it basically ruined the experience. I would call it terrible acting, but it's more the wrong people for the parts.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
Cringefest - Stupidity level 11
This was painful. Action? Yes, but we're talking Physics that Sharknado would be ashamed of. Failure to understand or accept how reality works, even at a basic level. If you know the basics of cars, computers or physics, this will inflict pain to your brain.
No part of this movie made sense, it makes all 7 prequels seem like a real life documentary about cars. By far - Worst of the series. By going so far off the deep end, it made it too improbable for me to enjoy.
Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Scary MoVie? Boring, Unfunny Crappy MoVie is more like it....
If there was a 0 rating out there, I'd go for it, this is nothing like the other movies in the series, I don't even think a resurrected Leslie Nelsen would have been able to make it watchable.
The people who wrote this, took away the assumption that the audience has a brain, and therefore able to process jokes. They seemed to have this pressing need to explain, or overly set up every joke, so it's just unfunny by the end..
The opening: Having sheets jump up and down in fast forward with Benny Hill music, clowns and animals underneath is just not funny. It's playing on 1970's cliché sexual humor, in a really, really bad "Missing the point of the original joke" way. There was absolutely nothing about the opening sequence that was funny in any way shape or form. Especially having Charlie Sheen fly through the air and hitting the camera, it wasn't really done in a comical way.
The Middle bit: Complete and utter crap. It's like the people who made this doesn't get what's funny, they simply lack any form of humor.
Old Jokes, I'd say 60% have been done in previous Scary Movie Films, but in a funny context, this just ain't funny.
In stead of this crap, if you are a fan of Scary Movie, go see "A Haunted House - 2013" a Horror Spoof movie made by the maker of Scary Movie 1, Keenen Ivory Wayans.
Top Shot (2010)
I love the show, but I hate some parts of it...
First off, I like this show, it's really entertaining. The competitions are exiting, the weapons are cool, and the host does an OK job, the show still manages to surprise me with the weapons used, and the way the competitions are done, the competitions, or should I say challenges seem to be really fair, I rarely feel like someone is low balled. In my opinion the only thing that really drags it down for me is the "Coming up on Top Shot" "Next up" "Still to come" parts of the show, basically they reveal the results of the competitions, showing us the target after all shots have been fired. This to me is just insulting my intelligence, anyone with half a brain is able to deduct the results, at a minimum when it comes down to the last shooter. If it wasn't for that, I'd give it a 10 out of 10.
Captain Battle: Legacy War (2013)
Below average, I'd call it a Z movie.
This is possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. The trouble is, where to begin....
I suppose the start of the movie is a good place for me to tear into the many, or should I say countless flaws of this movie.
Well, it starts out with a "high speed pursuit on dirt roads" that in reality is cars going 10 mph, over a field, with BADLY(I could make more realistic flames with MS Paint) made computer animated muzzle flashes coming out of pistols and assault rifles. Next up is a "bazooka" like device that you could actually see straight through before it fired, topping it off with an explosion that basically is a car, with badly made computer animated flames superimposed over it.
My opinion on the opening credits that follow this awful "intro" is as following: The best part of the entire movie could be the cartoon part in the opening credits.
The rest of the movie follows the example made in the intro...
Bad camera editing, bad acting, bad lighting conditions, bad sound, bad "special effect", I say special, but they are hardly special, turning on the sepia and negative mode on a camera can hardly be defined as special? Can they? At best, this movie has "effects".
Bad makeup, painting a guy red in the face with food coloring isn't really makeup is it ?
Do NOT get me started on plot, plot holes, storyline and so on, because there is none, If I hadn't previously watched Captain America, I would be lost on several occasions, because this movie assumes that you know a lot of things up front.
Basically if you value your sanity, stay clear. The only reason for watching this is to be able to say, "That movie sucked almost as bad as Captain Battle: Legacy War" later in life.....
In conclusion: Arnold Schwarzenegger's, "Hercules in New York" from 1969 is a masterpiece compared to this..
Goldfathers (2012)
Excellent
I like gold mining shows, this is no exception, gives of the same sort of vibes as Gold Rush did in the first few seasons, the second best alternative to Gold Rush right after Bering Sea Gold without question, Thankfully not one of those scripted reality shows, interesting, with colorful characters, keeps me glued to the screen, the only thing I would change is the commentator. I highly recommend this for any fan of the gold rush type shows, I know there are a few shows out there trying a bit hard without really producing anything, but this isn't one of them. This is very interesting, with different types of ground being minded, and very different types of mining.
I give it a 9 out of 10 due to the partially annoying commentator.
Operation Repo (2007)
Epicly bad crap show.
The concept of this show has a lot of promise, I mean, a camera team following a tow company would be awesome. But as everybody knows by now, the show is just crap, filled with scripted dribble, bad, really bad acting, over zealous acting, I just can't stand the obviously fictional story, bad. BAD stuff, anyone into towing, cars, trucks and similar, please stay clear, your will just be mind numbed. I have asked myself many times, what is the point of this show? There are a lot of bad scripted reality shows out there, but this is one of the absolute worst. Having the same two fake police officers in one episode after another should give you a clue regarding the lack of imagination behind this show.
World's Worst Tenants (2012)
This is Awful. Fake, Scripted.
This is so over the top scripted and badly made that I don't know who would want to watch it..
It's simply put painful to watch. I have seen three episodes, and that was three too many, I only watched the last two out of boredom, and a lack of anything else on and I nearly flipped..
I would not recommend this to anyone. This is just awful, I cant stress hard enough how much this show sucks.
I am so tired of these scripted "Reality" shows..
Stay away and be glad your mind didn't have to process the absolute crap this show is.
Robot Combat League (2013)
Not good at all..
I can see this being of value for younger viewers, but personally I found it way to "bad imitation" boxing, with "robots" that had jerky movements, that almost seem mechanical even though they use hydraulics. I wonder why they didn't put the hydraulic lines inside the metal shell of those robots, also, why there are no over pressure release valves, so the damned hoses won't burst all the time.
The hoses bursting almost seemed remote controlled to me.
I think these unnatural movements, kinda jerky, almost as if someone where pulling strings to control them, and a "as if" they where made out of cardboard, effect, comes out of a "weak" "flexing" frame inside their metal shells, making the arms movements seem "cheap" and jerky.
Some of the team members seem to have little or no understanding of both the concept, the mechanics of the robots, limitations of the robots, the controls, and the physics.
Sometimes it feels like it's scripted. Like when one team is mastering the controls, and beating the crap out of the other team, while the other team is struggling to control\understand the controls of their robot, next round, the situation is completely flipped, as if the first team suddenly forgot how to control the robots, while the second team have suddenly become experts in controlling theirs....
No, this is like Rockem Sockem, only slightly scripted and with sparks for no apparent reason, probably good for the younger audience, but utter crap to me.
America Unearthed (2012)
Scripted, and shaky.
I saw the episode "Great Lakes Copper Heist"
Basically, I can't get past the shaky camera, bad camera angles, constant zooming in and out, extreme close-ups, etc. Probably done to make it seem spontaneous. It annoyed the hell out of me. Dialog that is obviously scripted also made me dislike this a lot.
Ridicules claims. They expect you to believe that people started to remove 680 388 tons of copper 5 000 years ago. Or more specifically between 3000BC to 1492AC when Columbus discovered America. A span of 4492 years. Granted, they had a lot of time, but...
Those numbers suggests that the people of the great lakes would have to extract over 150 tons of copper every year for 4492 years ! Preindustrial man, no dynamite, No machines. COME ON !!!
Also, people are saying it's for Entertainment, so bad science is OK?
Why is the host so eager to proclaim his education an practices as a forensic geologist? That's to help validate his outrageous claims, and borderline conspiratorial dialog.
If the program tries to sell itself as fact, it better be fact, not a mix in between.
