Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)

Worst villain in the franchise.

Dementus was sooo bad!! Terrible. A joke. Very dumb.

I never took him seriously.

I did not find him menacing at all. To cartoony and way overacted.

The fake nose and teeth did not help.

To me he just looked like Chris Hemsworth goofing around.

Compared him with previous villains and realized is the worst one.

Praetorian Jack (Furiosa's love interest and mentor) was extremely bland. No charisma blank face. I did not feel their relationship.

I also find the ending disappointing. I did not feel her revenge moment.

The film drag on multiple occasions.

The film could have had used some editing and the script some extra revisions.

Anya Taylor-Joy was fine as Furiosa.

The cinematography and the action sequences were great!

Too bad that the villain was pure crapola.

X-Men '97: Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 2 (2024) Season 1, Episode 9

They cram wayyy to much in this episode

The Xmen are fighting three villains at the same time!! That's too much for an episode.

Don't get me wrong. Separately with a bit more room to breath each story would have been great.

The episode made a noble effort to glue the three stories in one episode but it was simply too much.

The reason they gave for the xmen brake up in to teams to fight magneto and Bastion was bogus.

Just concentrate in Bastion first and then go after Magneto. Simple. They have 12 hours.

I have another issue. Why Magneto did not go after Bastion? Is he just going to sit there in his asteroid and do nothing? He can simply drop his asteroid into the Galapagos islands and finish him of. Anyway, just nitpicking.

Bastion is the enemy not the xmen. I don't get it. Get rid of him!

On the other hand, Magneto is Bastion's enemy and is stopping his utopian plans.

Why Bastion doesn't send his technopathy controlled sentinel army to attack the asteroid and get rid of Magneto?

Magneto is about to cause great damage on Earth and Bastion is on Earth! Bastion should be stopping Magneto.

Why did they send metal-filled Wolverine as part of the team that will attack the master of magnetism?!!

Send him to kill sentinels instead! He is very good at that.

Then they cram the feud between Jean and Mr. Sinister and just started the Wolverine loosing his adamantium side story!

Again good stories jammed in the middle of all the chaos.

A small nitpick i also have about these xmen is Jean. Why does Jean fights by telekinetically throwing things at his opponents instead of you know telekinetically THROWING THE OPPONENTS themselves?

She can just telekinetically grab them and pulverize them.

I just remember a scene in a xmen comic I read many years ago, Sabretooth decided to attack Jean. Moron. Jean won the fight in a second without moving a finger. She just grab him in mid air and throw him away.

In the original and this new xmen series they kinda tone down Jeans powers.

In the comics she is an Omega level mutant with vast telepathic/telekinetic powers. She cannot be more baddass.

I know they have to write an episode but it could have been written better.

Still I thing this show is the best thing Marvel has done in a long time.

Hopefully the next episode will bring a satisfactory conclusion.

3 Body Problem: Wallfacer (2024) Season 1, Episode 8

The most idiotic mission I have ever seen!!

We are at war with an advanced alien species and our first plan of attack is to send them a human brain?!!! That is the most ridiculous plan I have ever seen!!

The reasons they gave for sending the brain made absolutely no sense! Pure BS!

The expectations they had for this brain were absolutely bonkers!

They were assuming that the aliens will get the brain (Will) and rebuild the rest of the body or something(they don't even know)?! And somehow Will will outsmart the aliens, gather info about them and transmit the info back to Earth?! WTF

By sending a human head, the aliens will get info about our human biology and will create more efficient human killing weapons!

They spend billions and tons of resources and research in this mission. OMG

According to Wade "Even if it is a failure we need a reason for the project to exist". He just want to accelerate technologies a couple of generations forward even if the mission is a failure.

I agree with this but this "sending a brain to aliens" mission he is using to accelerate sciences is a complete joke!

Ok, send them a head but covered with samples of all our most deadly human viruses and bacteria. Maybe one sample can affect the aliens?

Not only that, to propel the capsule 300 atomic bombs have to detonate at specific time and location. LOL Give me a break! Absolutely ridiculous!! Do you know the ridiculous amount of precision require to do this?

More than that. Let's say that the 300 bombs plan was successful, for the capsule to maintain a steady fixed course to a destination more than 200 years away it's a another ridiculous challenge.

A deviation of an inch (caused by a mechanical problem for example) and the capsule will be out of course by millions of miles 200 years from now.

In my point of view the most immediate problems are the Sophones. They should have concentrated all the resources to analyze these devices and find possible weaknesses.

Also the second thing the can do is to infiltrate the alien cult with spies/double-agents and try to feed the aliens with bad info and earn their trust.

According to the aliens the Sophones are "wrapping the world in illusions", "make us see what they what us to see", "they are everywhere, Anywhere", "Learning all your secrets". They can even hack into electronic systems. So, what is the big deal then? With so much power, using the Sophones alone can disrupt human scientific evolution easily! WTF!! I don't get this show.

The UN created the most important project to help humanity against the aliens!!: The Wallfacer Project (another ridiculously idiotic project by the way).

What is the first thing the UN do? They introduced the members of the project to the whole world!!! WTF!

Unless they are using these people as decoys while the real Wallfacer members are working in secret I don't see the logic of introducing such an important group of people to the world putting their life in danger! WTF

This is ridiculous!

Talking about the character Saul, I don't believe for a second he is a scientist. Very bad script.

Not only Saul but all the cast. I did not believe that they were scientists. They all belong in a CW show.

Apparently there is a big pro-alien cult on Earth. If the aliens wants to damage human science improvements, they could just send these cult member into kamikaze missions to create destruction and chaos.

They can even get into a lab and let out deadly viruses to kill billions of human and pushing back human evolution and progress for decades!

These cultists started killing scientists and never crossed in their heads that the police or somebody was going to investigate these deaths and find out about this cult. Morons.

The best part of the show were all the scenes with young Dr. Ye in 1960's China and some of the sci-fi elements of the story.

I never read the books. Am I missing something because this is complete nonsense.

True Detective: Night Country: Part 6 (2024) Season 4, Episode 6

Amateurish directing, bland cinematography, bland script

It is obvious that the director doesn't have much experience directing mystery/thriller work.

A good thriller not only needs a good story and characters but also a creative cinematography and a director with style and vision things that this show doesn't have.

It tries badly to imitate a bit Twin Peaks and Lost and fails miserably.

This show could have really used David Fincher, Kubric, David Lynch or John Carpenter at the helm.

There was a good story somewhere there. The script was undercooked and needed more revisions.

The story given was poorly constructed and edited.

The supernatural elements were poorly developed and displayed.

Characters were poorly developed. I did not care for any of the characters specially for the secondary ones.

This could have had been a great whodunnit mystery/supernatural/scifi/horror/thriller but it landed in amateurish hands.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023– )

There are three main problems with this show.

The problems are: Cate May Kentaro

The producer of the show made a big mistake by putting the weight of the show on the shoulders of these boring bland cringe characters.

They are the worst part of the show. I did not care about them or their boring back stories. They have no chemistry between themselves. I have not a clue how May and Cate became super BFFs or how May and Kentaro were a couple.

The show should have had focused on the stories of Lee Shaw , Hiroshi Randa and Keiko and their relationship with Monarch. There was plenty of material to do a show about them. The best part of the show were when they were involved in the story.

The last two episodes were the best of the show but I think is was a little bit too late. Also they introduced May's ex boss Brenda Holland which is another cringe poorly acted character.

I am still not sure if I am interested watching a second season were probably the cringe trio is included.

Echo (2023–2024)

At least a bit better than Secret Invasion

Echo was a big disappointment! They paid a lot of attention and care to Native American themes but they forgot to write a focused cohesive story.

The show failed to make me care for Maya. The secondary characters, setting and the themes were OK but that's about it.

The fighting sequences were very bad! Cuts and edits everywhere. Bad guys holding guns running toward Maya instead of shotting her from a distance! Bad guys waiting for their cue to attack one by one instead of all attacking at the same time. Apparently these people have never seen a John Wick movie specially JW4. The worst JW4 fight sequence is 10 times better than any of Echo's.

She just blow up a mafia warehouse and she is not expecting repercussions? Instead of leaving town right away she stayed there chillaxing! No sense of urgency! She has being working for the Kingpin for years and knows how things roll with this people! Doesn't make sense.

The last episode was cringe!!! Terrible!!

Kingpin kidnaping Maya's relatives LAME.

All the relatives getting superpowers. OMG!

OMG! There are so many weird scenes!

The scene at the roller skating place where Maya and her girlfriend were capture.

The bad guys came in to check on them because they heard a noise (Maya and the GF were pretending to be tied up) Then one of the ladies drop her phone to the floor and Maya, for some reason stopped pretending being tied up and picked it up! Why? And then proceeded to throw the phone to the lady and punch her GF in the face? What was the plan? What the fu## was that?

In another scene Maya was returning home with her bike. When she is about to enter her home Kingpin was there! What does she do? She goes back to the bike, grab her helmet and backpack and started walking away from bike! Why? Why are u grabbing your helmet? WTF?

Kingpin asking Maya to hit him with the hammer to send her free? WTF? SHE ALREADY SHOT YOU IN THE HEAD 5 MONTHS PRIOR TO GET RID OF YOU? The situation is so awkward!

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)

Aquaman Lost Kingdom was better than this! Can you believe it?

What the hell happened with Rebel Moon? Who greenlighted this? Nobody bother to doublecheck the script?

The movie kept introducing character after character and after their introduction the producers forgot to write more lines of dialog to them.

There is a lack interaction between them. They became empty shells just standing there or shooting.

There is a long action-packed introduction sequence for this guy who can control beasts. After the introduction he spend the rest of the movie standing there showing his six-pack!! That's it! The other characters received the same treatment.

The hand to hand combat choreos were very bad. Not creative at all. Not fluid at all. You can see the actors waiting for the cue to attack the main characters. The choreography in the beginning of the movie at the barn was awful!

Rebel Moon gave me vibes from The Wachowskis and Michael Bay movies specially Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending.

I don't mind that the movie is copying from other movies but, come on! Can you write something better?

Can you believe that the great Godzilla Minus One movie only cost around 20 million to produce?

Ahsoka: Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch and the Warlord (2023) Season 1, Episode 8

Now I finally know what Thrawn is good at!!!

He is an expert sending his people to death!!

He is in control of an army, zombies, a star destroyer and witches and he was unable to kill a single whale or a turtle or rat-dog, blow up Ahsoka's ship, or to make a single scratch on Ahsoka, Sabine or Ezra!

Thrawn barely escaped!!

Look how much trouble he has putting down Ahsoka's ship!! A single little ship!!!

He even allowed Ezra to escape with a ship!

In the previous episode master tactician Thrawn send fighters to put down Ahsoka's ship. They failed.

In this episode he send two tie-fighters to put down Ahsoka's ship and delay Ahsoka from reaching the Chimaera. They failed!

Our heroic trio used the rat-dogs to reach the Chimaera fast and Ahsoka's ship was fixed in 20 minutes. Oups!

Master tactician!! Not!!

Morgan is dead, two pilots dead, about 20+ stormtroopers dead, two tie-fighters destroyed and the temple destroyed. All this in about an hour! Good job Thrawn!!

The episode missed a good opportunity for great drama.

Does Ezra know that Sabine was the reason that Thrawn is able to return? There's no drama, no anger, for the person that sacrificed everything to keep Thrawn away.

Also, there was no sense of urgency! Our heroes are travelling with the turtles at about three miles per hour. Not a care in the world!

And Thrawn had difficulty finding them?!! Give me a break!!

I think this show set a new low for the stormtroopers uselessness!! They sucked sooo much!! I forgot about the zombitroopers! They are worse!

Don't get me started with the Morgan/Thrawn pilots! They have no idea how to shot a stationary target!!

With the exception of a couple of fights, all the lightsaber fights were very slow, uninspired and poorly choreograph.

You can see that Rosario did not trained enough. She was too slow and stiff.

Compare Ahsoka and Morgan in their final saber fight. Who had better fighting technique? Morgan! Why? Because the actress is in real life a martial artist trainer! Rosario did not have a chance fighting this woman!

Young Ahsoka's fighting technique in episode 5 was 10 times better than older Ahsoka.

To me the best saber sequence was the 10-15 seconds fight between young Ahsoka and Anakin.

This show overall was a big let down. So much potential waisted!

Pointless and shallow at the end.

Ahsoka was a poor main character. Boring all the way to the end. Sabine was a brat all the way to the end. Ezra was an bland empty shell. Thrawn turned out to be a moron with an accent.

These actors won't emote. Scenes that were supposed to be dramatic felt bland. I don't blame the actors. I think it was a directorial choice.

If the character won't express emotion, how can I feel something for them?

The only interesting characters were Baylan, Shin, Morgan and the witches.

Baylan and Shin needed more script. Both of them turned out to be too shallow.

Frankly I was rooting for the bad guys.

Ahsoka: Part Seven: Dreams and Madness (2023) Season 1, Episode 7

That's it?!!! That was Sabine's plan?

To find Ezra and chillax with him while travelling with the turtle people forever???

Thrawn is about to bring war to the Republic (thanks to her by the way) and she does not seem to care at all!! No plan? No regrets? Maybe... poorly written script?

If you pay attention Ezra has not mention Thrawn or the witches once! He only talks about the turtles.

Because Ahsoka is coming to the rescue the lazy writers of the show did not write plans or a good story for Ezra and Sabine. Ezra and Sabine are just there on stand-by mode "waiting" for an "Ahsoka" to happen.

After seven episodes I still don't like Sabine at all. I think is not the actress, its the poor script. She comes as a dumb brat. And don't get me started with Ahsoka The Bland.

I felt nothing when the trio got together again. Their lack of tears or joy does not make sense.

Is that the way you would react if someone dear to you a comrade in arms that was presumed dead for years suddenly shows up in front of you?

Sabine believed that Ahsoka was dead. Did you see their reaction when they saw each other again?

These characters really REALLY need to emote more!!!

The side story involving Hera and the senate is so ridiculous and cringe!!

Does a general has any autonomy? Does he/she has to ask permission to the senate before taking any little mundane decision? Does a general has to ask permission to send small reconnaissance mission to investigate a planet?

Doesn't the Senate has something better to do than to get all together and scold a general that took a few x-wing to check a possible Empire conspiration?

This is just ridiculous!! Hera was doing her job! Hera has PLENTY OF EVIDENCE that the Empire is up to something but the show seems to hide all the evidence under a rug.

One thing is to portrait The Republic Senators as morons and another thing is for the show to hide all the crystal clear evidence presented to audience and the characters.

How many people does the senate govern? I presume 50+ Billion people. How big is the Republic fleet? How many generals they have? The Senate have to lead soo many people and ships and still they have time to scold a Hera and her little reconnaissance mission? Ridiculous!

The all mighty Thrawn is not so all mighty after all. We just watch him loose his first battle against our heroic trio.

He failed to kill a single whale or shoot down Ahsoka's ship!!

He is nothing without the witches.

Does the Empire knows about bombs? Explosives?

There is no need for hand to hand combat when you can just throw a bomb in the middle of the turtle vehicle fortress and kill everybody .

Apparently the only person that knows about the uses of explosives is Sabine and her Mandalorian gadgets. She took three stormtroopers with a single tiny grenade.

One last point.

The trio was surrounded by stormtroopers on all sides. Suddenly, instead of shooting all at once to our trio, out of nowhere the troopers decided to run around and hide behind the turtle vehicles. WTF?

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)

Beware! The movie trailer was deceiving!

The movie was NOT about the Manhattan Project!!

The core of the movie turns out to be about Lewis Strauss personal vendetta against Oppenheimer!!

I don't mind a good political drama about vengeance. The problem was that the political drama in the movie was not interesting at all. It was a bore!! Frankly the Oppenheimer-Strauss hostilities are not an interesting subject.

I did not care about the Oppenheimer hearings. The movie tries to create some twists and intrigue but it did not work. It does not matter how much dramatic music you put in scenes it still did not work.

Nolan is good adding dramatic music to enhance scenes that, in reality are mundane.

To make things worse the movie editing was terrible! The movie kept jumping from scene to scene in a hurry with not connection between them. We don't know anything about the time and location between scenes!

The editing is so fast and the scenes are so short and all over the place that the characters don't have time to breath! The characters development was an afterthought!

At the end I did not care about any character!

If you expect a movie about science this is not it. If you expect a movie about the process and sacrifices of creating the Manhattan Project, the process of creating the atomic bomb with all the science trials and errors this is not for you.

At least 70% of the movie is about politics. The movie spends maybe 45-50 min total in the Manhattan Project.

The only positive things about the movie is the great cast.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

Short Round and Indi kicking some Nazi butt...

Short Round kicking some Nazi butt... That's the movie I wanted to see!

After temple of doom(set in 1935), we don't know what happened with Short Round. It could have been very cool to see what happened to him.

Maybe seeing him as a teenager/grown up with Indi in one final adventure. We also don't know how they met each other in the first place!

Maybe they had some personal issues in the past and now he is trying to reconnect with Indi.

So many possibilities.

Can you imagine the opening sequence with Indi and a 20ish Short Round kicking Nazi butt on that train?

In Dial of Destiny we are introduced to these new characters that I frankly don't give a crap.

Helena and her father should have been replaced by Short Round and his father or maybe Short Round and his daughter/son?

So many possibilities.

Star Trek: Picard: Imposters (2023) Season 3, Episode 5

I waited 30 years for this!

I remember watching Ro betraying Captain Picard about 30 years ago on TNG and that episode stayed in my head all these years.

I have never seen Picard so angry, so disappointed! I had mix feelings about the situation because I liked Ensign Ro a lot.

Episode 5 is probably the best star trek I have seen in years!

The acting and the dialog between Picard and Ro were amazing!

One of the reasons why I did not like the first two seasons of Picard was that Patrick Stewart was playing himself.

In episode 5 you don't see Patrick Stewart, you see Jean Luc Picard!

The story involving the changelings evolution and Picard's son is very intriguing and interesting.

The fight sequences with Worf were solid well choreograph. I liked the Vulcan mafia boss character.

The weakest point is, of course, Raffi. I have no idea why the producers included her in this season.

Anyway, this episode was freaking great.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

I tried. I really really tried to like it. It was a torture.

On paper this movie had all the ingredients to be amazing: Michelle Yeoh, Jammie Lee Curtis, wacky Sci-Fi alternate reality, comedy, drama and kung fu. What the hell happen?!!!

This movie was a pain to watch! I watched it in little 15 minutes portions. More than 15 minutes and my brain started hurting. It took me about a week to finish it.

The movie was annoying. Torture. I could not handle it.

The story was over the top silly ridiculous. The dialogs cringe worthy. In my point of view the movie was poorly directed.

The movie has some moments of creativity but they get destroyed by the dialogs.

Even the fighting sequences of this movie felt off. I found them boring generic.

I have been watching Michelle Yeoh movies since the 80's. I hate to say that this movie is not one of her bests.

The Last of Us: When We Are in Need (2023) Season 1, Episode 8

Another standard Walking Dead episode

Can someone tell me what is original about this show?

TWD dealt with a crazy cannibal group too. Those episodes were absolutely disturbing.

This is another standard episode were they introduce new characters to be killed by the end. TWD and Fear TWD have billions of this type of episodes.

I keep asking myself why Joel and Ellie did not stay with Tommy in his beautiful and secure town? It does not make sense!

Lucky Ellie! Destiny put a butcher knife at arms reach. I laughed when she killed the two morons with it.

Last of Us is not a bad show. It is entertaining at times but not original.

The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023) Season 1, Episode 7

No surprises here!

We knew already what was going to happen to Ellie and Riley at the mall because Ellie herself mention Riley's death and the mall incident in a previous episode!

I felt nothing when they were attacked by the walker. I did not feel a thing for them.

I really wanted to care for the girls but it did not work out for me.

The actors look too old for me. If I am not mistaken Ellie is supposed to be 14 years old! These two girls look like adults.

Like another reviewer said, I wanted to see what happened after they were attacked. Did Ellie see Riley becoming a zombie? Did Ellie had to kill Riley? Moments like these could have been more impactful.

I found the mini montage scene where the girls were jumping from rooftop to rooftop cringeworthy. The same goes with the scene at the escalator. Blah!

The episode drag in that mall. Too many "wonders". Their conversations became boring and repetitive.

The producers also made the mistake of introducing the infected person early in the episode so eliminating the element of surprise at the end.

Joel lost a lot of blood. Ellie is trying to patch him up on the surface but he must have had internal bleeding and infection. How Joel survive this? I have not a clue!

Episodes like this one are a dime a dozen in The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead to name a couple of shows.

No idea why people are giving this a ten. The first few seasons of TWD are superior than this.

The Last of Us: Kin (2023) Season 1, Episode 6

Does not make sense!

You have been walking through dangerous places, wilderness and cold for three months and you stay in that nice town for a day?!!!!

They had security, nice people, hot water, electricity and NO FEDRA, NO FIREFLIES! They even had pumpkin pie and a cinema!!

The thought of staying there and settle in that town never crossed Joel and Ellie's mind?!!!

Why Joel's brother did not insist, did not push Joel to stay there with him and settle there like he did? That is what any good brother would have done.

They left in a day!! They could have at least waited until spring or summer for the weather to get better!

What was the hurry to leave?! It doesn't make sense.

What is Joel motivation to complete his mission of bringing Ellie to the fireflies?

He told his brother that he is doing it for money and that he promised Tess. No! He promised Tess that he would take Ellie to Sam.

Joel doesn't need the money anymore! He can settle there with his brother and earn a living!

Why Joel keep trusting the Fireflies?

These character don't act like real people. Their motivations are weak.

And again they entered a new area without taking precautions.

I did not like the three months time skip. I wanted to see their relationship growing slowly. By now Joel really cares for Ellie.

Also, after three months 24hrs a day together Ellie still does not know how to survive without Joel?!

Three months with him and now she is learning that he was a contractor and had a daughter? What did they talk about for three months?!

You are telling me that for three months they did not talk anything about their personal lives?!

The Last of Us: Endure and Survive (2023) Season 1, Episode 5

"I am scared of ending up alone" Yeah right!!

That is what Ellie told Sam about what scares her!

How about being eaten alive by zombies?! That does not scare her?!!

That is main issue I have with the characters. They are way too cold! I understand Joel being cold but Ellie?

They just barely survived a zombie horde + the resistance and we see them afterwards chilling relax in a hotel room. If I survive a situation like that I'll shaking and throwing up for weeks in that Hotel room.

Ellie did not share a single tear for Sam! I did not want her to cry a river, but to show a bit of emotion.

She is not Joel. She is supposed to be young and inexperienced.

Henry and Sam showed a lot more emotion.

I am still not a fan of Ellie. She is too strong for my liking.

I like the show, but there is nothing new here and that includes the Resident Evil final boss zombie.

The Last of Us: Infected (2023) Season 1, Episode 2

Note: I am reposting this review on IMDB. I reviewed this episode a couple of days after it came out and got about 100+ agree/disagree "Was this review helpful" votes. My review disappeared from IMDB some days later.

This episode has the same issue that TWD has. Supposedly seasoned apocalypse survivors making idiotic decisions.

You are supposed to be silent but use guns instead of a piercing weapon to kill zombies!! Guns are used as a last resort and if you use them aim at the head of the zombies, not their bodies!!!

A gun is useless against a zombie unless you aim at their head!!

At the end of the episode, Joel killed a lone crawling zombie with a gun! He could have easily kill it with a knife!! He did not learn the lesson!

If you are entering a water filled area why you don't take your shoes/socks off?!!! Running away from zombies with wet shoes/socks can be problematic.

So far the show is no better than the first few seasons of The Walking Dead.

All the drama, action sequences, situations we have seen many times before in other zombie shows/video games.

So far the show is not bad, just generic.

The Last of Us (2023– )

After two episodes, nothing new to the table.

So far this is just another zombie tv show.

Like another reviewer said, this is a clone of I am Legend with The Walking Dead. I might add War War Z and the video game Dying Light. And Yes I have played the Last Of Us game.

And, like Walking Dead, it also has seasoned zombie killers making idiotic decisions. (You are supposed to be silent, yet you attack zombies with a gun instead of a knife)

All the drama, situations, action scenes we have seen before.

I have been watching/playing zombie related entertainment for more than 35 years!

My first zombie experience was the 1979 Lucio Fulci's Zombie movie!

The only details that are "new" is the zombie's connection network and that the people are searching for a cure. Shows like The Walking Dead and its siblings are not interested in finding a cure or the cause for the apocalypse.

Of course I am going to keep watching the show, but I can guarantee you that it will not blow me away.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)

Filling the hole with secondary characters. Another America Chavez included in the mix.

The absence of Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther is really felt in this. They try to fill his absence with a whole bunch of secondary characters none of which capable carrying the movie.

None of these characters can carry the movie. Period. There was NO main character. NONE. All of them were secondary.

They added this Iron-Man wannabe character who is a plot device just like America Chavez was in the Dr. Strange movie. We don't know much about her and I frankly don't care. Namor's obsession for killing her make no sense. Destroy the factory that created it! Some company already build the machine so you gain nothing by killing its creator!

The FBI agent subplot was a complete filler. It did not affected the movie as at all.

The only positive thing was Namor and his people. I found this Namor's origin version very interesting.

House of the Dragon: The Princess and the Queen (2022) Season 1, Episode 6

A baby factory!! Apparently, for the last ten years that's all she did! Have babies and have arguments with the queen! Her main topic of conversation? Her sons and babies. I feel so sorry for her. I really liked her in the first 5 episodes. What a boring life the writers of the show gave her!!

This show desperately needs a Littlefinger or a Tyrion or a Varys or a Cersei to create some good political conflict.

Decision to Leave (2022)

That was a tough watch!!

Probably one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. I had to push myself to finish it.

I have seen Tang Wei's and Park Chan-wook's previous work and they were great.

I don't mind seeing a slow crime-drama-mystery as long as it is has a good engaging plot and has good interesting characters but these are things that this movie does not have.

The biggest issue I have with the movie is Tang's portrait of the wife Seo-rae. The wife was the core, the most important character in the movie. For this movie to work the wife should have been portraited as beautiful, charismatic, enigmatic with a hidden sadness and innocence. A woman that can make the audience feel for and believe whatever she says.

The movie gave us a bland wife. Bland looking, bland personality. I know that love is blind, but come on! Who can fall in love with her?

The characters in the movie kept telling the audience of how beautiful she was, but she was not!

Combine this with a unengaging poorly paced plot and you get a boring movie.

Westworld: Que Será, Será (2022) Season 4, Episode 8

The show had two interesting ideas that went nowhere

I liked the mystery about the hosts going berserk killing people and then committing suicide after talking with specific humans. The reasons for this was not explored.

I also liked the idea of the 'transcendence' that Charlotte kept talking about, but again this was not explored.

Talking about the last episode, it was as bland as it gets.

The 'final boss' fight between MiB and Charlotte at the dam was awful. Anticlimactic. No creativity in the sequence at all. Talking and shooting and then talking and then shooting and talking some more... bleh... Charlotte had the chance to shoot him at the console, but instead she decided to talk with him. She ran out of bullets? Come on!!!

Don't get me started with Caleb and Clementine. Both of them show fillers. Their action sequence a pointless filler. There was absolutely no build up to their encounter.

Charlotte sudden change of personality came out of nowhere. Doesn't make sense at all.

Caleb's daughter and Stubbs mission to rescue Caleb was absolutely utterly pointless. I did not care at all for Caleb or her daughter.

Caleb did not have a purpose in the show. Charlotte said that she kept resurrecting him because apparently he had some 'information' about 'something' that she wanted to know. This was another subject that the writers did not follow through.

If you want to blame a character in the show for the end of human civilization blame Bernard. He knew the future! He could have very easily stop MiB and Charlotte. They are not formidable omnipotent opponents! Just put a bullet in their heads! But the show is so poorly written that it make us believe that Bernard's lame solution was the best solution.

Overall this was a bad season. The world portraited felt so empty and boring. The dialogs were so bland and repetitive. The main story recycled form other sources (Dark City, The Matrix, The Terminator to name a few).

Westworld: Metanoia (2022) Season 4, Episode 7

We finally find out was is Caleb's purpose in the show!!

According to Charlotte Caleb is bait. That's it! Bait. He is a plot device used as an episode filler. Take him out of the show and he wont affect the main story. I personally don't care about him or her daughter.

I have nothing against the actors. I love the cast, but they deserve a better script.

This season is a one and a half hour long story extended over eight hours. There is not enough meat in the story for eight episodes.

I did not care about the 'twist' with Delores. So all this season her bland story has been a simulation? Wow what a twist. Yeah right. What a waste of time.

The side story with the desert rebels saving the world is so generic lame!

The best part of the episode is when RoboMiB got rid of Maeve and Charlotte and decided to blow up the world. Thank you RoboMiB!!!

The problem I have with RoboMiB is that there was no proper build up to this. He just went coocoo.

If Bernard can see the future why is he not prepared to face RoboMiB? At least he could have been wearing a bullet proof vest!! I hope his generic 'sacrificing himself to save the future' make sense in the final episode.

Season 3 was very bad but at least the writers wrote more content.
