A Life Well Lived
10 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
A full circle story of a man's life that started with family and ended with an extended family that he returned to and what mattered most to him at the end of his life. It's hard not to see yourself in this story with the very personal way that Adam tells his father's story. Adam not only reveals the popular persona that most of us know, but also the very personal side of Leonard and how his popular persona affected the family and Adam himself. Adam tells of how he cherished the rare time he spent with his dad and the hectic schedule Leonard kept with not only the series but also personal appearances. There are short snippets of Adam's life and career and how supportive his dad was when he wanted to change careers. I was waiting for that tearful interview with Mr. Shatner, but sadly that never came. Leonard not only gave us a beloved character in Spock, but also an example of how to live life well and explore new things and not settle for something that doesn't make you happy, for that becomes just a "job." Restrained, Yet Moving
26 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I came into this movie with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised to find a well crafted, affecting story. The plot itself is very simplistic. So much so that one begins to wonder if this idea could be made into an almost two hour movie. But that is where this movie begins to show its' genius. Time itself, it seems is under study in this movie. A tragic accident occurs. A young boy is killed. And the next 90+ minutes reveals the effect it has, not only to the main characters involved, but also the people that they love. It is beautifully shot and well acted. It tugs at your heart strings, but never so roughly that you will notice that you yourself are being affected by the passage of time. Many of the events that occur seem logical and are character revealing. It's hard to dislike this movie. It just goes to show that even the most mundane of ideas can bear rich fruit.

Mr. Robot (2015–2019)

Incredible Pilot Episode
2 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Mr. Robot's debut episode flows so smoothly that you don't realize an hour has passed. Interesting characters that are already fully developed, including the lead who brings out your inner geek, make this show incredibly interesting and enjoyable to watch. Being a life long Neil Diamond fan, I was especially surprised and enthralled to hear "If You Go Away" begin playing as a back drop to the lead character's walk to his destiny. All the while the viewer is contemplating what his decision will be. You can see and begin to understand his thought and decision processes. I highly recommend this show. The best I have seen on television for quite a while.
