Yesterday i bought the movie the Dreamkeeper because the little scenes i saw on TV during a commercial interested me a lot. I must say that this story was for sure not a disappointment because it is really a beautiful story which is a mix of fantasy, legends and old stories. In this story a boy from the Lakota Sioux tribe has problems because he has a quilt with an Indian gang. His grandfather wants to visit the powwow, which is a meeting between all kinds of tribes from the USA, in which the dances and traditions will be shared. The grandfather wants that his grandson takes him to the powwow and as reward he will receive a car from his grandfather. In the beginning he don't want that but when he realizes that he also has 1 day to pay the money back to the gang than it maybe could be a good alternative to escape. During the trip his grandfather starts to tell him stories which form the base of the movie. During the stories you enter a time of legends and fantasies but with every story the grandfather is teaching the grandson a lesson in life. The maker of this movie also made Arabian nights and you can see it a little back in this movie because the setup is the same because in Arabian nights a woman tells a movie to the sultan she wants to marry. This story really impressed me and i enjoyed it a lot, also because i am very interested in Indian tribes. This movie deserves a 9 out of 10 because i kept my attention for the full 3 hours it took, in one word beautiful and well done.

Saving Private Ryan

Saving private Ryan is according to me one of the most realistic war-movies ever made. In the beginning of the movie we see an old veteran visiting the graves of the people who lost their lives in an effort to save Ryan. In this movie we see the madness of war and the traumas which people carry all their lives with them. In this movie a group American soldiers get the mission to save Ryan because in his family already some brothers fell on the battlefield and the code wants that the last brother must be saved. This movie shows actually the madness about the fact that more people have to die for saving one life. The beginning of the movie is very realistic when the Americans reach Omaha Beach and i think that in that time it was like that because thousands of soldiers did not even have the chance to reach the beach but after a long battle the German defence breaks which meant the beginning of the Liberation. The Germans expected that the Allies should cross the Canal so the most troops were stationed over there which coursed weak points in the German defence at Omaha Beach. The actors like Tom Hanks delivered a very realistic movie about the madness of war which some personalities create in this world, even today. A 9 out of 10 they deserve for sure.

I am a big fan of fantasy movies and more if it concerns mythologic episodes. Next to Jason and the Argonauts we also have the Odyssey which is according to me a wonderful movie. Homerus classical epos about Odysseus and the movements after the fall of Troy have been filmed in a magnificent way in the Odyssey. The gods make Odysseus and his men to puppets in a game. They push them to make long trips which delay their trip with years and bring them in conflict with Circe, the cyclope and Poseidon. Finally Odysseus even enters the underworld. In the meanwhile the wife of Odysseus, Penelope must get the men away from her, who want to have the properties of Odysseus. They think that he is dead, but with the help Athens he continues searching his way home. This movie receives from me a 8 out of 10 because it is an enjoyable movie which also gives you some history lessons, so 2 flies in 1 hit, a good movie and education. Well done !!!!!!!!!!!
The Real Story is that Jack and the Beanstalk is still popular

Jack and the Beanstalk is a movie which you can put in the same category as the 10th Kingdom. Jack and the Beanstalk is a fairy tale, so normally you might think that this is only for children but the makers of this movie or actually TV-series prove that you can even interest adults with a fairy tale. The special effects are very funny and the story does not bore you for any moment and keeps your attention for the full 3 hours it takes. Jack and the Beanstalk is according to my opinion a masterpiece because it is great to make a movie which interests people from you until old and you can find all aspects in the movie like magic, adventure, humor and of course, how we could forget it Romantic. The qualification from me is 9 out 10 and that means.....well done mates !!!!!!!

When i saw the movie Legend in a shop the other day i decided to buy it because i am a big fan of fantasy movies, so you can imagine that my expectations were very high. Fortunately this movie was in offer so the financial damage has not arrived the critical fase. I think that for my feelings i was able to watch that movie for 15 minutes and after that i had a big desire to the end of it. I decided to watch it out for giving at least my critical opinion about it but the only positive thing what i could find is that the special effects are reasonable but the story is really for crying. The story is weak without any excitement or interesting moments and i think that you can equalize this movie with the Princess Bride which also was according to my opinion also not a big success. If you see the script than i think that there should be more in it but unfortunately it has been worked out bad. The special effects course that the movie will not be rated at the most awful number by me but more than a 2 out of 10 i cannot make from it because for me it was simply not great.

The best TV-series ever

The 10th Kingdom is for me for sure the best TV-Series all times because this series has everything what a fantasy-movie needs, fairy tales, battles, romantic and magic. When i saw 1 episode on TV one day i was not so impressed, maybe also because i did not really had the chance to take a good look at it. But i heard so many good and positive reactions about it that i decided to watch it again and i was totally surprised by seeing it. From the first minute it catched me totally and i cannot deny that i never fell bored with the movie. The 10th Kingdom deserves from me a 10, which means the highest qualification because together with Lord of the Rings they are in the top of the table. In one word wonderful !!!!!!!!!

Arabian Night also belongs to one of the fantasy-movies which you can also put in the table with Sinbad and the 10th Kingdom. Arabian Nights is a very interesting and nice movie to watch because it takes you to a world of fantasy and mystic, in which the stories told by an Arabian woman, form actually the movie. So we will find the famous stories about Ali Baba and Aladdin and his wonderlamp. The other day i bought this movie and i don't regret it. I think that a 8 out of 10 is a qualification Arabian nights deserves because i enjoyed it 3 hours long. Don't think too much and let yourself lead back to the old legends of the Middle East, you won't regret it.
Excalibur

This must be one of the worst movies i ever saw

It is very difficult to make a top 100 of the best movies all times because so many good movies have been made but a movie which will not enter the top 100 according to me is Excalibur. The reason is that the movie has according to me not a powerful adventureous story but more worse are the actors who have more experience in a theatre than in a movie. In short words, the movie was weak without any excitement and also the actors were not a reason for becoming happy. If you want a good movie with adventure and magic that i am afraid that you have to look further, if you like theatre, than this could be the one you are searching for. More i cannot make from it.
