Weakest movie in the franchise
6 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Can't understand all the praises going around here in the review section. While I immensely enjoyed first 2 John Wicks, and in general a big fan of Keano, this movie was really mediocre in about everything.

1. It was too long for this kind of movie - some of the fighting scenes were obscenely long (especially the artifact room in the Japanese hotel), and too much fluff that do not contribute to the plot. Could easily fit in 2 hours. And those stupid "bullet proof" suits were just a cheat to prolong these scenes by making everyone "bullet sponges".

2. The choreography of the fight scenes was sluggish and felt like a bad dance, even WWE looks more believable.

3. The "atmospheric" aesthetics were over the top and over saturated. Too much airbrush and photoshop.

4. The plot... seriously? What was that?

The only thing that I actually liked is how the fight scene in the Paris abandoned home was shot, a nice homage to "John Wick Hex" game.

Not bad, but not good enough
15 January 2005
After reading, and hearing everywhere about it, I finally went to see this movie, only to understand it doesn't really worth the money. Don't get me wrong, the movie is really okay, and the animations are realistic most of the time, but still - the acting is lacking and not convincing, the plot is confused and confusing, and Angelina Jolie has such a minor role in this movie that I even felt insulted for her. Another thing - the whole movie is directed as it was taken from the 1930's. While some people may enjoy it, I find it very annoying. If I'll want to see a classic movie, I'll just go and rent one. There's no need to reproduce such movies in nowadays, and i really hope this movie will be the last one in this genre.

Awful
22 December 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Even if I did want to tell some spoilers about this movie, I can't. And that's because I never managed to finish seeing this movie. I can't really point what's the worst part of it, but I can't point on any moment of the movie where I really understood what is going on, why, and when. The only clear thing in this movie is who's the main characters. I can't say anything bad about their acting, because the actors are good and convincing, but still - the plot is impossible to understand. I'm sure the director had many good ideas in this movie, and I'm sure I missed some (if not all) because of my own stupidity, but when an ordinary movie watcher like me can't even decide if this is a Drama , Thriller, Sci-Fi, or whatsoever, no one can expect a person to like this movie. I wouldn't bother to see it again, and you shouldn't either.

Alexander (2004)

Great king, not-so-great movie
22 December 2004
The life and the conquest of Alexander the Great had fascinated the imagination of many historians and history-lovers, like me. After some great movies about approximately the same era (i.e. "Troy", "Gladiator", etc.), I expected that this movie won't be less than remarkable, especially if Angelina Jolie is playing an important role in the movie. Unfortunately, Oliver Stone did everything wrong in this movie - First of all, the acting is awful. Jolie and Hopkins do a great job, what can't be said about the rest of the cast (especially not the one who played Alexander himself). Second of all, the plot is very confused and confusing. The most important issues are omitted (except the war against the Parsians), and most of the movies circles about the sexual life of Alexander. While the movie indicates itself biographic, It's not supposed to be a documentary film. Final conclusion, don't spend your money on this movie. It would be more worth to see "Troy" again, and understand how a GREAT war movie is made.

Saw (2004)

One of the most thrilling movie I saw
22 December 2004
Usually, Scary movies just make me laugh. The mystery of mystery movies are clear to me almost from the beginning. If this is not enough, bloody scenes don't make me feel anything. But not this movie. I admit that the start is a bit lousy, but it gets better pretty fast. The knowledge of the viewer is built step by step, until the final twist in the end, which made me a bit surprised (although I could guess it if I would pay notice more on the small details). Of course, there isn't a decent horror movie without some supernatural elements, especially these that belong to the sadistic killer. While in many movies these element turn the movie to rather ridiculous, this movie really convinces you it CAN happen. Anyhow, don't watch this movie alone, especially not in the middle of the night.

Good action as always, but that's all..
8 October 2004
After seeing the original Resident Evil, I had great expectations from the second chapter (of a possible trilogy?). after seeing it I can say I quite disappointed. Of course, the movie is well done, and I don't have any complains about the actors and their acting, still - The so well known plot of some innocent citizens locked up in a city full of zombies returns again and again and again (but to be honest, this is the best of all movies with the same plot).

While in the first movie you could feel the fear and the thrill, here you will see some nice action parts but no more. A lot of "bang-bang" and none of the sophistication from the first movie. This what disappointed me the most.

The ending, which I won't tell of course, was a bit of surprising and left many questions opened to what happened in the last 5 minutes of the movie (what led me to the conclusion of making the third, and maybe the final Resident Evil).

The Punisher (2004)

Dark and depressing, but still very enjoyable!
5 October 2004
I saw many action movies in my life, and in general this movie isn't different so much from many of them, though it has it's own "issues". Okay, this is a movie based on the comics (I never had a chance to check it out anyway), and it's important to stick to the grid-line of the original, but still - a little sophistication would be appreciated. but don't get me wrong, it's not so predictable movie, I found myself surprised of some scenes (especially from the scenes that appear in all the hey-let's-shoot-them-all-because-they-screwed-my-life movies I know, but didn't appear here) and the action is very good. I didn't feel bored, and that happens a lot in such kind of movies, moreover - I even enjoyed this movie so much I'm going to recommend it to my friends. I would like to say, if I may, that the acting of the main actor is surprisingly well, I could really feel his pain and sorrow, although I knew it's not real. The Israeli producer, who produced many movies based on comics, did a good job, and I'm wait impatiently for his next movies!

One of the best movies I saw lately
2 October 2004
I saw hundreds of movies in my life, only a few of them had affect on me like this movie. People may like it or not, it still influence your thoughts and emotions, and the superb acting of the main character only adds to the authenticity of the story. Besides that, the movie is very original (even though it's influenced from some reality shows). Although the movie talks about very serious matter, it does it in very "friendly" way, you feel comfortable with the character. Still, it seems that even if everything is seems to be Okay, It's NOT. And that's, I believe, the real story of the movie.

Besides that, It's a great shame that the movie didn't hit the cinemas, in my country anyway, I believe that people must see this movie, even just for the thoughts that come up from that movie.
