Gueros (2014)

Very well made film.
15 April 2015
This movie is black and white and it has a different frame ratio. At first, i thought they were going to do it because they wanted it to look like an art film but if you ask me, from what i watched, i am certain that this was done because of artistic and also satiric reasons. This movie is a great drama and also is a great comedy. Directing is really unique. Movie doesn't treat it's audience like they are stupid people. Movie respects the audience. For example, instead of a broken elevator sign, you see the inside of the elevator and you see that it doesn't come. When the character goes in a dark room, actor isn't pretending to be in a dark room, it is not a low lighted room that you can see but actor can't, you also can't see anything and it feels real. When a character closes other's eyes, before you see that, also your view is blocked by hands on the camera, which is your eyes. You feel like you are inside the film and it is amazingly done. When they listen to the song that should be amazing you hear nothing at all because they want you to imagine it since it will be different for everyone. And there is a scene in the school that it is really really funny and intelligently done. I won't spoil but i was laughing way too much at it. Movie tells a few different stories, panic attack, love, friendship, revolution and a whole other themes that are followed by their own scenes. Every thing in the movie leads somewhere and in every ending, it remind us that the world is cruel.Movie is funny, dramatic and exciting and overall it is very good. It makes fun of the Mexican so called art movies and also that maybe the cause of the black and white colour of the film. And it succeeds to be satiric in a good way. I am giving this 8/10 because i felt like it dragged a little on the last act. But, nonetheless i found it to be very intelligent.

Chappie (2015)
4/10
Disappointment.
7 March 2015
I only gave this a 6 because i love Bloomkamp and i can't give a lower grade, yes i am biased. Bad writing, awful use of characters and unlikeable lead cast (the gang). Chappie is cute and this movie has it's moments but overall it takes too much of a story and tries to mix them and put it all into your mind. It fails and you come across to a mixed mambo jumbo action movie with a TERRIBLE ending. One of the worst i have ever seen. Even worse than Interstellar. Please Neill, Don't f*ck up the Alien.

I liked Chappie's problems in the everyday world and his connection with his maker but the movie doesn't focus on that. It focuses on Chappie's violent side and the character loses it's motive. This had so much potential and was wasted. I cringed through the whole ending. But Patel is not a bad actor apparently, which is nice.

Here is the interpration of the movie

Warning: Spoilers
I am writing this because i am sick of people hating on this. So hear me out and read my explanation and what i took from it and if you still think it is superficial contunie to hate.

This movie does not follow a certain time line. Every event is mixed up. He is an actor and he is not faithful to his wife. He has sex with his girlfriend and he just does that with her. When she comes home her wife is always questioning him. He talks to the phone with his other personality and his wife asks if he is talking to "her" again. Here we see that he has betrayed her before.

So, the bottomline is he was an actor, he cheated on his wife and had a accident. His girlfriend died, his dream of being an actor has died and that accident gave him that scar. He doesn't go to the agency for 6 months and his wife is 6 month pregnant. He has a photo that is torn at the beginning because as we see it in the end, the photo is him with a different woman. So after the accident he stops trying to be an actor and he becomes a history teacher that's why his mother says that he should forget his acting dreams. And even though he is married he again cheats on his wife which results in a problem that his girlfriend understands he is married. These 2 personalities are created by himself and it is in his mind. Her wife asks how is school so you clearly can see that he is the same person.

When he comes from the run she says i met the guy and he looks just like you. And when he says he doesn't know she says i think you do. She understands that he is losing it.

Spiders represents women. Spide catch prey like women does. Our guy lost his freedom. In the start a woman squashes a spider. That's his wife's control. In there he is free. So about the end? When he took out the new key, he realizes that it is the key to sex club. He tells his wife he is going. And when she doesn't answer he goes in and she is a spider but the spider is scared because she is afraid of being squashed. He eliminates his other side. This movie is a chaos and chaos is a order yet undechipered.

Amazing!
31 January 2015
Quentin Tarantino at his best! This movie is mostly dialogs but it is so well written that you never get bored. And it has the best product placement ever! Royal Cheese :P This movie is great and still to this day one of my all time favorite movies. Amazing acting, dialogues and screenplay. Each character has their own story and they are all likable. Characters and stories aren't superifical, they are in dept and likable. It may not have a great message or anything but it is a great movie nonetheless. Also it is great to see Bruce Willis trying to act in a great non action movie. They should do a lot more movies together.
