Kochadaiiyaan (2014)
Watch it for Rajini , AR Rahman and KSR !!
Hero taking revenge on Villain is the crux of Kochadaiiyaan.. What is different in the film is the technique used in the movie, which is absolutely new to Indian films and is definitely interesting. From the beginning to the end the movie keeps you hooked up with , thanks to our Superstar and his styles. I can clearly see with how much passion was this movie crafted. Likable and enjoyable characters ( Legendary actor Nagesh does a cameo and brings in lot of value ) . Simple yet top-notch dialog s. Known story yet, unique and refreshing in its own way. Even those simple scenes like Rajini s eye-contact engulf you with emotion. And, of course there is one huge plus for the movie. The background musical score. Cannot have a complete review of this film without penning few complements on the Maestro. There's nothing to do, every piece of music he creates is able to touch the deepest strings of our hearts. With a soundtrack that ranges from the epic tones to the mysterious ones he gives us another example of his limitless genius.
The story line of the film is interesting and has a touch of KS Ravikumar flavor all over. Nonetheless, you can't consider story as the best aspect of the film. Its the screenplay that ll keep you glued to seat till the end . The right combination of having the most stylish protagonist, a clever script , and a sincere effort to bring in new technology to Indian films , make this flick a blast from start to finish. The 3D technology is not used to its full potential here. This has been in the reckoning for quite a long time and this happens to be the first ingenuously made graphic movie using motion capture technology in India. Though it cannot be compared with the Hollywood flicks budgets it must be said that the hard work is seen and one can see the brilliance in visual effects. After seeing the trailer and few promos , I was a little skeptical of going to see this one. It surprised me though..it threw things at me that I wasn't expecting. To Sum up, it would be a inappropriate to say Kochadaiiyaan was awful, which its not, but despite having the one and only Superstar , its good, not great !!
Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014)
Film is funny, engaging, touching, crazy and human !
Vaayai Moodi pesavum : Its been long time that I have seen such a Clean entertainer... still , VSP is ain't a run-of-the-mill flick which we normally come across with big TALKIES sign in a Cinema hall .. film is mostly SILENT in second half ! Although the movie seems to be focused on comedy, it delivers a very subtle yet powerful message on the importance of communication. While peppered with numerous comic incidents, the movie is quite serious in adressing its central theme. There's some important content in this film, but it is never overpowered by laughs, nor vice versa. While comedies have moved on to become more grosser and outrageous in order to tickle our dulled funny bone, 'Vaayai Moodi pesavum' manages it with what now seems like restraint but is really a good example of 'wacky' comedy, mixed with a good vein of sentiment and character. The plot is pretty good although some of it pushes the boat out to the unreal in order to get laughs – but this isn't a problem because it DOES get laughs, if it hadn't then it might have been an issue. Most of it is hilarious although some drags early on. The movie ends on a very dramatic note, on the power of communicating and it does show how redundant the words are in presence of good acting, screenplay and the power of music ( though i believe certain songs cud have been avoided !! ) ..Despite being a bit predictable, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's another good attempt by John Hughes.
Bottom line : Film is funny, engaging, touching, crazy and human !

Pretty good for a paraquel
300: Rise Of An Empire is a popcorn experience of the grandest kind. If you aren't a fan of the first then this one probably won't win you over. Still a totally awesome montage of Bloody stylized fights and epicness! Pretty good for a paraquel ..The action is what you would expect, fast paced to slow motion throughout with some truly awesome brutality. So if you want to see a Action pack! This is your movie. I recommend seeing this in 3D! The sound, the action sequences really do Pop out! And make this movie one hell of a ride! All summed up and 300: Rise of an Empire accomplishes much more than any movie of its kind could aspire to.
Gravity (2013)
Gravity is more than just a film--it's an experience
Gravity is more than just a film--it's an experience. Words can do little to convey the visual astonishment this movie creates. It gives a very good sense of what it is like to be alone and scared in the vacuum of space. No sound. No gravity. No Oxygen. Gravity is the unquestionably the most impressive display of special effects work you will see in modern cinema . Despite featuring strong performances from both Bullock and Clooney, the real plaudits must go to director, Cuaron, who manages to turn a simple premise into a visually breathtaking, gripping thrill ride. An absolutely terrifying, yet gripping film any movie lover must see. The first person point of view combined with 3D takes the visual experience to a whole new level..An Absolutely awesome Experience !! Everything I could ask for in a film...!!!
