It Chapter Two (2019)
A poor ending for the great Chapter 1
First chapter was pretty good. There was good simple and efficient scares not too much CGI but with chapter two they put CGI all over the scary part which simply made them not scary at all... Also I must mentionned the overuse of humor in this chapter versus the first one especially in the more serious scene which totally kills the horror mood... This ain't a comedy... Unfortunately bad choices were made by Muschietti in the second chapter and now even the first movie will have a bitter taste knowing the sequel is that bad... Very disappointed
The Last Witch (2015)
Stay away from that movie...
This is a poor attempt at making the spanish version of "The Blair Witch Project"... Stay away from at all cost... it's that bad...
Slender Man (2018)
A poor adaption of a great Creepypasta
So much potential for that scary/creepy character that is Slenderman! There's a saying that say : Less is better. In that case, the director stuffed the movie with a poor scenario, poor acting, poor dialect and poor special effect in a movie that could have been great if they would only focus on keeping a tension with only subtle but effective apparition of the Slenderman just like the photo in which he appears. The original Blair's witch project movie, the Paranormal Activity movies, Sinister are a few examples of simple scare but how effective. We need another shoot at that Creepypasta!
Evil Dead (2013)
Great remake, prefer the original though...
I think It was a great remake. Most Hollywood horror flick now tend to show a "realistic" point of view in horror movies these days and usually It makes the movie more frightening and for this movie they showed a more intimate version of the characters. For example, the story introduces "Mia", a drug addict who is struggling to stop his addiction who had to take care of his mother while the brother David was not there.
The movie has a LOT more gore in it, way more than the original, maybe too much. What I would have love to see is a more psychological approach, horror that keep messing with your mind instead of having all the blood and guts splattered over the screen which don't leave much for the imagination. It was entertaining but not that much scary, only disgusting... I think the original movie had this creepy "old movie" feeling that we didn't have in the new version...
But overall i'm giving it a 7, entertaining, good movie, better than a lot of horror movies out there, worth to see if you don't mind gore
