Once Upon a Time (2011)
Amazing show!
Once Upon A Time takes us into a new way of looking at the classic fairy tales. It is quite intriguing and most delightful for those who love fairy tales like myself. Sometimes, though not often, the writing seemed a bit off to me, as a writer. But since the story was so beautifully written and created that I overlooked it easier than I thought. Every minute of the show, every episode that seemed unnecessary, lead up to the point we are at now. Yes, some episodes at the time may seem unnecessary and able to skip but even though you may catch up by skipping, you still do not get the full effect of the show! Robert Carlyle, who play the famous Rumpelstiltskin (Mr. Gold in the human world), is one of my favorite actors so as soon as I laid eyes on him, I just knew the show would turn out terrific! A lot of good talent that I was unaware of surfaced in this show and I just loved it. The suspense, the romance, the unhealthy obsessions, it all equals up to a very good show!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
One of my favorite shows!
Throughout the whole series you will fall in love with the show if you love the tradition vampire stories more so than the "twilight" type vampires. Instead of Buffy and her friends always facing vampires, they face various dreadful demons and gods too. Some episodes, like "Normal Again" (Season 6, Episode 17) leave you feeling confused and uncertain while other episodes like the majority usually end with more answers for the original questions.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is not scary or gory but action-packed. All the relationships add twists to the drama of the show. Each scene play its own role in the story and without one of those scenes, the story would not be the same. It's kind of like the squirrel in Ice Age, how he (in my opinion) makes that movie. Without the little guy, the movie (to me) would not be the same. The romance (lust and breakups) is the same thing ; it makes the show what we know and love it to be.
Even though I just started watching the show, I can tell it will live on for centuries to come, much like Dracula. I am so glad my friends told me to watch this! The journey is an unforgettable one that stays with you even after you fall asleep
