Natalie Palamides: Nate - A One Man Show (2020)
Hilarious but much more than that.
I don't understand why this has such a low rating. I laughed so much my cheeks hurt many hours later. Natalie is fearless and funny but manages to keep a message about consent throughout the entire show. I cannot recommend this enough. That being said, it's not for everyone.
The Ruins (2008)
Excellent book aggressively mediocre film
Probably my fault reading the book before the film but I was let down at almost every turn. The only reason I'm giving it five stars is out of respect for the book. The acting, special effects, and cinematography are all laughable.
Watchmen: See How They Fly (2019)
Anti climatic
You know how people say "it's more about the journey than the end" I don't think anything else could be more appropriate for the finale. It was an overall good series but the last episode just doesn't work for me.
Daybreak (2019)
Not for close minded people
I didn't want to give this a ten but it's a solid 7.5 or 8. It's just said to see so many reviews on here. It's a fun show, clever jokes, a ton of references for movie and music nerds, gore, action and some cute moments.
The Twilight Zone: Replay (2019)
Solid episode/BS critiques
I didn't really think it was possible for racism to hurt a show's rating so much. Then I came here seen this episode only has 6 stars and read some of the reviews I was proven wrong. Possibly my favorite episode I definitely preferred it over the second episode. If you don't like seeing social commentary in works of fiction, maybe this episode is not for you.
Russian Doll (2019)
Best new series I've seen in years
I should start out by stating, I've been a Lyonne fan for about 20 years now. So there's obviously going to be some biases here.
It's a really interesting series that manages to be charming, dark, and funny while covering problems like loneliness, codependency, substance problems, and other vices and deflections many people deal with. It's beautifully shot, the music is great, and the acting and dialogue is phenomenal.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Force of Nature (1993)
Nice message but poor execution
I really don't need to elaborate anymore. The title says it all. I did enjoy reading through the IMDb's one star ratings and noticed those same viewers leave scathing reviews over any show that has message about the environment.
Conservative Republicans, Star Trek may NOT be the show for you. Might wanna stick with Ayn Rand and stay in your wheelhouse.
Enterprise: Dawn (2003)
Darmok at Enemy's Janagra?
I should start out by mentioning this is my first time watching the ENT series. I've seen the rest and read dozens of novellas. That being said, I rather adored this episode. I see that a lot of people calling it regurgitated Enemy Mine and they're not wrong. Even the little pregnancy thing Trip said at the end was a nod to that movie. It's still a well written and intimate episode and I'm a sucker for the 2 strangers/Journey and Return narrative.
The Conners (2018)
Keep and open mind
This has been my favorite sitcom for over 25 years, but seeing every rating being 1 or 10 doesn't seem right. I'm not even sure half of these people watched the new episode. It's a decent tv show as of now but I think people really need to give it a few episodes before they write it off.
