Life as We Know It (2010)

A Sweet Movie!

When their friends die in a car accident, it falls upon Messer and Holly to raise their daughter. Holly is a neurotic control freak while Messer is apathetic selfish guy. Both Holly and Messer, two completely opposite people, try to raise a baby while not killing each other!

This movie is fun! It's ripe with humor, romance and a good cast. The story was good. It had some loose ends but it was entertaining. The supporting cast was amazing. The neighbors were the reason why this movie felt so light. There wasn't much of the gooey romance and a lot of focus on the child, Sophie, which is a huge plus!

I think it's a really good way to spend your evening. Go for it! :D

Suits (2011–2019)

Highly Addictive

I must warm you that I have a soft spot for movies which show people with extraordinary abilities! August Rush, Good Will Hunting, A beautiful mind and all that type.

That being same, Suits is truly awesome!

Fast Paced, amazing humor and out of the world acting. I mean, Gabriel Macht. Phew! I cannot even begin to describe him. He is smart, arrogant and the way he takes every problem just takes your breath away.

Mostly, the whole of Suits is based on law practice. There is a lot of courts and depositions and settlements. Watching this only if you enjoy them!

I sat down for three days and finished two seasons. Then I passed out for 14 hours. Watch at your own risk!

*Sigh* I hate waiting for season three. :(

Killer Elite (2011)

Classic "Agent" Action

This movie is about Danny (Jason) who quits the SAS business and tries to build his life only to know that his mentor Hunter (De Niro) has been taken captive after a deal gone sour. So, Danny takes upon himself to do the task and free his mentor. However, unbeknownst to him, he is a part of a larger conspiracy!

It is a decent movie. Lots of the "Special Forces" action, you know, where highly trained people move based on their instinct and in a wink change the odds.

The action is good, acting is fun. The story is nice too. Though at some point it became too much of tailing and being tailed! :/

To be fair, after the transporters, I kinda like all of Jason Statham's movies!

We Bought a Zoo (2011)

This movie is about Benjamin Mee who is a recent widower. He couldn't seem to get a closure to his wife's death and look for a new start. He shares a estrange relation to his son who has changed since his mother passed away.

This is a beautiful movie based on the real life story of Dartmoor Zoo. It is is funny, cute and very light. You feel good and optimistic after watching this movie. :)

I found Thomas Haden Church's character really funny!

It is one of those movie which you watch on the pretext of your children. We all know who enjoys movies like Home Alone, Dunston Checks in and Ice Age! ;)

It is after a very long time that I have seen such a delightful movie.

Outlander (2008)

Decent Movie!

Sophia Myles was delightful! Even Jim Caviezel was alright though a little more expressions would do him good. :/

The CGI was nice, the story was good. The acting was fun. Plus I have a thing for Norse people. So for me this was all the more fun.

They don't make simpler movies like this anymore, it is a fun to watch movie which does not involve plotting characters ( which give me a headache ). Yes, I could predict the end but it didn't really matter. I was still engrossed in it.

It was good. Refreshingly so.

I wonder how they got the idea for Morwen, that creature was gold!

Aashiqui 2 (2013)

Great Story!

Good Stuff:

The story was really good. I am a sucker for romantic movies and this one is unexpectedly good on the romance part. The ending was really mature and different. Shraddha Kapoor. She is a really good actress. I hope to see more of her!

Bad Stuff:

Salil. Even though he is likable, his semblance is devoid of emotions. He is not really a good actor. The dialogs were awful. Simply awful. With such a good story, one would expect some decent dialogs. :|

All in all, this movie was interesting and worth a watch.

PS: I left the theater feeling really sad. :(

Lockout (2012)

Yuck!

How can they even make this kind of movie in 2012. Aren't they ashamed? :|

Guy Pearce is a villain at heart he is NOT a good hero. Didn't they see the Count of Monte Cristo?

And yet, he struggles to play a nonchalant, apathetic person with a sense of humor much like Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man ( Without the knack for tinkering and the wealth, of course! )

Well, all in all, the movie was really boring, predictable, clichéd and BORING. The action was alright but, it was definitely not worth the time.

Maggie Grace was disappointing too.

The only character worth mentioning was the guy who plays the lunatic. He was awesome!

This is one movie you could give a miss.

Iron Man Three (2013)

Marvel, Why you no marvel?

Iron Man 1 was awesome. Iron man 2 was also awesome. With Avengers, I died and went to heaven.

Iron man 3 brought me back to Earth. :/

I guess there was too much pressure on these guys. They put in everything into the movie. Not everything they had, I mean everything there is to Iron Man movie.

Well, the result was disappointing.

They should have focused on something.

There was Tony trying to get away from the suit, there was tony saving Pepper and the world, there was Tony building rubbish to save Pepper and the World. I mean DUDE! You built the Iron Man Suit and now you are building guns that shock people? Then yes there is Tony being sarcastic and misanthropic. There is also Tony the good and caring friend. Yeah and of course, there Tony doing the "right" thing at the end.

I couldn't really understand how three helicopters can enter US airspace and fire missiles at Tony's house and yet remain untraceable. :|

Prime Facie, it may be entertaining, but all in all, it was disappointing.

The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)

I grew smart watching this! :P

First things first, Sheldon. *Standing Ovation*

It is simply AMAZING how Jim Parson plays Sheldon Cooper. The short and sharp comments. The whimsical personality of a genius. Packed with social shortcomings. He is simply PERFECT.

This show is a delight. It helps me exercise my brain enjoying every minute of it.

Penny, you are awesome too. It is simply a beauty how the script unfolds.

Every episode is simply crammed with humor and frankly it is smart humor. After exploiting the social inadequacies of a genius for humor, now this soap has taken to the likes of How I met your Mother or maybe even friends.

Yet, every time I see Sheldon, it makes me laugh.

The plot is nice. The cast is perfect and the humor is good.

WATCH it!

The Croods (2013)

It was very funny!

There are some scenes which I just can't get out of my head. Even thinking of them makes me burst out laughing. This has been happening so much that my family is wondering if there is something wrong with me.

The animation is really nice. The story is unique and the movie is packed with humour. Along with the light hearted fun, lies a deeper meaning portrayed beautifully, The fear of change.

Well, what can I say, I could watch this movie over and over. It is one of those classics I guess like ice age.

It is even intellectually appealing.

A short packet of fun. A must watch!

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Movies are meant to entertain. Most of the times, they even fail to do that. In this era, dominated by Computer Generated Imagery (CGI), most movies project an alternative reality, a getaway from our dry world. In such manner, it is fun to watch and even very entertaining.

Only might bring up The Dark Knight, which is also a truly great movie, in such conversations but in the end it is futile.

The Shawshank redemption is a class of movies, which until now has only got itself in it. This movies forces us to question ourselves. Through these movies, we live someone's else life and understand it.

It is entertaining as hell not cause of the imagery or the camera work or the some cool gadgets rather cause it strips down the beautiful human nature and portrays the intricate feelings in a form so powerful that it may be more of a reality than this life is.

Every time you watch this movie, you learn about yourself. You grow. You believe.

Khiladi 786 (2012)

Leave you brains at home!

It is alright! Not exception or not even worth watching twice. But, if you have the time why not?

It's a light senseless movie on the lines of Dabangg. It's somewhat humorous and maybe lightly entertaining. If you don't get very critical you might enjoy it.

Akshay Kumar as usual is a strong man. Himesh Reshammia is alright too. Asin look really nice and well, the acting is fine too.

All in all, this movie has nothing worth remembering. It's not even a laugh riot. But it does tickle the funny bone once a while and helps you pass time in an alright manner.

If you are the very seriously kind of audience, then you can give this one a skip!

Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006)

It was FUN!

I had a good time watching the movie. I didn't get bored, I laughed more than a couple of times. I truly liked Garfield. I mean that cat has really good a sense of humor.

The plot was fine, the dialogs were brilliant. Garfield was fine. Even, Odie had his moment.

The animation could have been better but it really wasn't that bad. I can watch is again. Everything someone looks for in Garfield was there. So, I wasn't disappointed and I have no idea why people were.

If you ask me, watch it. Cause it is fun and that is enough.

Arrow (2012–2020)

Good idea but really bad script.

I was pretty excited about this and it started off well. However, soon there were loose ends which grew so much that it took the fun out of it.

It doesn't take a genius to tell that this series doesn't have a good script. Yes, there is a good past, a decent present and a hopeful future but nothing ties them together. Some scenes are so obvious that it makes me angry.

It looks to me that Stephen Amell didn't really understand his role which is again a turnoff. His acting is bland. He doesn't really exude a personality one would expect out of the "Arrow" in the script.

It has a similarity to batman with billionaire in disguise and all. But, Batman was really nice, this is not. The playboy setups up camp in his father's abandoned factory. The masked vigilante appears as soon as he gets back and no one doubts him. Not even his mother. Like I said a lot of loop holes.

I stopped watching after the fifth episode so, if they have improved which I am pretty sure that they haven't, then I wouldn't know.

The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

A very entertaining love story

I love it! It was so much fun.

One could maybe predict the end but it didn't really matter. The plot was very well scripted. The whole concept of a higher power as an organization without an end of the world stuff was awesome.

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt look really good together. The romance isn't cheesy at all. It's nice and sweet. To top it all, Emily is humorous too.

I have watched it more than once and I still don't mind sitting through it again. It is one of such movies which light and entertaining at the same time.

Even without extraordinary acting or mind blowing CGI, this movie will keep you engrossed and leave you happy at the end.

City of Ember (2008)

A great concept. Should have worked more on the finer details!

First thing that you should know is that it is a decent movie, entertaining and relaxing enough to be watched. The concept is great even the city is kind of realistic, totally believable.

However, the problem is that they didn't show enough "modern" technology. Maybe some surface tables or highly sophisticated device might has increased the viewer's satisfaction. Though there is enough amazing tech, it's rather crude which if you watch it now will make it seem outdated after movies like Avatar, Iron Man and so on. So, this maybe be the reason why the reviews are bad.

I, for one, really think that the acting was good. The suspense was there. I couldn't guess the ending really. I know what it would be but how, I had no idea. So, even that was there.

Yes, the movie is slow however, it is worth a watch!

Battleship (2012)

It isn't as bad as people say it is!

Not all of us are interested in stripping down the film piece by piece and admire the acting, the story, the graphic separately and rate them. Most of us watch a movie to enjoy and lose some stress not to develop philosophy or doubt reality. Keeping this in mind, this movie is fine!

The CGI was really nice and the concept kinda realistic not even far fetched. The acting maybe not be amazing, the story may be a little bland but all in all the movie is pretty enjoyable.

No, there is nothing extraordinary or worth remembering but not every movie has to be a revolver or needs to have hugely popular comic character to be entertaining. This movie is entertaining and sensible. Frankly, I didn't feel it to be a drag at any point.

Maybe, just maybe someday you want to just cool out watching a movie, then this is fine.

Dredd (2012)

Watchable movie

The movie has great action. Very rudimentary story and kinda clichéd with lots of loose ends. Story wise this movie sucked, good guy judges very bad gang types.

The acting was nice and action commendable. I loved Karl Urban as the judge. The cold demeanor with an internal turmoil and ruthlessness. It was AWESOME!

Olivia Thirlby did a good job. It was fun watching her. But, if you expect the movie to be a superb remake or so, you are going to be disappointed. It was more of an action movie than a sci-fi one.

Well, the end recommendation is go for it if you are bored. It's a mildly entertaining movie.

Chashme Baddoor (2013)

It's kinda nice movie

For starters, it's enjoyable if you don't make much sense of it.

Ali Zafar: He fits nicely into the goody two shoes role.

Divyendu and Siddhart: These guys are awesome. I mean AWESOME. Acted like pretentious and cheap creeps with ulterior and undignified motives behind everything. :p

The rest of the cast were well known veterans who did there jobs well.

It might not be the best movie or the best remake but it's rather enjoyable.

Tapsee Pannu: Her dialogs were really bad. I mean "Dum hain Boss", really? Even if you wish too make it humorous, which it is not, you should have got a better line for her. Acting wise, she was decent. Not great.

We are not meant to appreciate the acting and understand the intricacies of a highly acclaimed movie.

Movie is about having spent sometime of your life in someone else's shoes and enjoying it there.

The most important part of a movie is keeping you interest which this movie CANNOT!

To say I didn't laugh would be wrong. I did, few times but dude! It was predictable. In five minutes, anyone could tell you the whole plot including the stupid ass jokes. :|

I was so bored I WALKED OUT. I for once don't like seeing a dime go to waste. Hell, I sat through unimaginably excruciating movies like Tom, Dick and Harry. Still, this went unbearable.

Ayushman is a good actor, but this movie is so boring that even he looks like a buffoon.

Please, DON'T go.

PS: I can't tell you about the second half but, then you probably won't need to know.
