Should Have Been a 10

Ortega did a FANTASTIC job as Wednesday. She is lovely and dark! Who I can't stand watching are Guzman and Jones as Gomez and Morticia Addams. These characters are so iconic. These two actors failed where others have been successful. Their acting failed these two characters. Gomez always had a positive upbeat attitude who was always passionate and over the top. Guzman falls flat in his interpretation as Gomez. Jones is beautiful and classy but she lacks the spice required to be Morticia Addams. I'm so glad most of the series lacks both of them and concentrates mainly on Wednesday and her mystery solving.

The Patient (2022)

Ugh! The Ending!

Why on earth did it have to end that way! I see the where it could end no other way, but I wanted to see him reunited with his family! Ugh! Gleeson did a great job playing the serial killer, and loved watching his obsession with food. Karel, of course, is always on-point. This was the perfect role for him. I mostly enjoyed watching him playback his life as if HE was the one in therapy. I also enjoyed learning more about the Jewish culture. I would have scored this mini series either 9 stars or a full 10 if it would have ended differently. I wanted Sam to give him CPR or him suddenly start breathing again. I don't know. Show says a lot about a mother's love though.

Actually Surprised How Good this Was!

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. I have never been a huge Sylvester Stallone fan, but I like the raw, grittiness of this character. Reminded me of his Rocky days. I also find myself liking the movies he's been doing lately. They typically have a message and things get blown up and bad guy smashed to pieces. LOL! So, I guess I'm more of a fan than I thought, which is another surprise. This movie is violent but but enough to where you can not watch with your whole family. It is your typical good vs evil but with a small predictable twist. 'Wanna' did a great job and I enjoyed his acting and role in this movie too.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Totally Predictable but FUN!

They kept the storyline simple, and didn't involve Hollywood politics. Pure entertainment! I also like the fact they brought back Val Kilmer. Tom Cruz is the star but this movie would not have been complete without Val.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

Boring and Too Long

I WISH they would have kept the show focused on Chris Pratt instead of doing equal time to all these other characters. You can definitely tell Hollywood to cramming all these female actors down our throats. FINE! But THIS movie started Chris Pratt I'm expecting to see mostly Chris Pratt! Ugh! Show up an hr into the movie and you'll be fine. It was more of a mini series crammed into 2.5hrs, and it didn't work. Should have kept the focus on the main character and his relationship with Blue and her baby. If you have nothing else to watch and it's really hot where you live right now AND you need a good nap, go see it. 🤷

Mexican "Mr Bean" Eugenio Derbez didn't disappoint! Such a cute movie and I'm glad I watched it. There are subtitles but you won't get lost if you don't follow along.

Actually Pretty Good!

Simple low budget movie based on a true story. I was skeptical because of the low ratings but I actually enjoyed this movie. It even had me tearing up in a few places. Made me want to learn more about the Orphan Trains too.

The DUFF (2015)

Would Never Happen

Potential but no true chemistry between these two actors. One looks like he's in his late 20's hanging out with high school girls, and the other just tries too hard making almost every scene awkward and unrealistic. These relationships don't happen, and it's quite patronizing. What I did like was the positive message about accepting yourself as who you are.

I really don't know why people are rating this movie so low. It's not the best thriller but it definitely held its own. Loved how they brought in traditions and folklore into this film.

Low Expectations

We had nothing else to watch, so we decided to watch this movie. It had some really good action scenes but I'm just done with the whole female power thing. In reality, if a man hits a woman, she's not getting back up. I'd like to see a movie that understands this concept and highlights how women should really fight against opponents bigger and stronger than her. Another annoying thing was Jessica Chastain's makeup! The unblended lines in the creases were annoying! Movie was fine but watch it matinee if you can. Loved "Bucky" in the movie though! He plays a great villain.

Redeeming Love (2022)

Should Have Been a Mini Series!

This book was too good for a 2-hr film. I absolutely loved it and I saw it with tissues in one hand and popcorn in the other. But there was so much more to each of these characters and their back stories. Like Paul and the shop owner. I was already in love with Tom Lewis from Gentleman Jack. This movie showed he has the charm and swagger of Matthew McConaughey! The actress that played a young Angel was just stunning! She did a fantastic job! Abigail Cowen looks like a young Nicole Kidman and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her soon.

What a delight this series was. I even hate Shakespeare, but the concept behind this series was unique, the acting superb, and pulled at the heart strings of perseverance and forgiveness.

God's Not Dead 2 (2016)

Fantastic and Touched my Heart!

This movie took a difficult subject, and presented it in a clean, family-oriented fashion. It's light-hearted but still addresses many of the challenges Christians face today, esp our own complacency. The movie managed to hook me despite its low budget and, at times, suboptimal acting, so it gets a 9 from me. I appreciate the producers brining in more experiwnced cast to widen its audience beyond the Christian community. This message wasn't only about our religious freedoms, but that of every faith.

Don't Look Up (2021)

Actually Enjoyable!

Not sure if they realized they made their failing government a bunch of incompetent Democrats or not but... This movie parallels with our current reality at the moment, esp with the government relying too heavily on their own top self-serving people instead of listening to the "little guy." I had my doubts about this movie knowing its liberal cast, but it was actually pretty good.

If you're watching this film thinking it's about aliens, you're in the wrong place! It's about a father struggling with mental health issues who kidnaps his sons thinking he's saving them from an alien invasion. Riz Ahmed's performance was OUTSTANDING!!! Those who rated this film low were rating the miscategorization of this movie. I was surprised too but I ended up loving this movie!

Not enough of Ana de Amares, and too much of other annoying characters. I can see why they waited over a year for this movie, esp dealing with massive release of a deadly disease. Action takes place pretty much in the beginning of the movie, and the rest is nothing but a continuation of past movies. It was entertaining but wish I would have streamed it.

The ACTORS of this action film did NOT disappoint! I knew if it had Tony Chiu-Wai Leung and Michelle Yeoh it was going to be good! Simu Liu and Awkwafina were fantastic! They kept it traditional but also added a little modern flare to this kung-fu movie. Must see this movie IN THE THEATRE AND NOT SITTING ON YOUR COUCH!

I had such high hopes for this film. I seriously don't think basketball scholarships are the #1 issue for Asian families. Would have been more believable if the parents were against Boogie's dream to play ball, but instead, Boogie was just a good player...not the best with family struggles.

There is no way a school would have left "under God" out of the pledge of allegiance! I liked this series but there was way too much going on to focus on one particular part. The one thing I did like about this series was the young actress, Melody Hurd. I'm always amazed at this lady's performance!

If it weren't for the suspenseful music, this movie would not be scary. And why do all demons have to be contortionists? Anyways, much better than I expected. Not the best movie, but go to a dine-in theatre and drink alcohol with it, and you'll be fine.
