Grizzly Man (2005)
The funniest and greatest doc. ever!
This movie is by far the funniest documentary I have EVER seen! Move over march of the penguins, Super Size me, and Farenhite 911, there's a Grizzly Man on the loose, and he's more pshyco than Michael Moore at the Oscars! This movie was funny because the Grizzly Man is an extremely odd doper, who screws around with dangerous animals. He talks like an idiot, and has the most hilarious views on everything! Plus all of the comments will be with totally dull people who will say, "We filled about three trash bags with humans," and have little to no emotion, or worry. Throughout this whole film I was cracking up at Timothy's stupidity! Besides that, there's a lot of interesting things to learn, from a friendship with foxes, to how bears live. I personally think Timothy's acts are harming our environment, and you should see the film to decide for yourself. His journey isn't really amazing, or beautiful, or heartwarming, but it will keep you interested, mainly because Tim has ahem, 'a way with words', and very 'interesting' opinions. Be sure to rent Grizzly Man, you won't regret it!
War of the Worlds (2005)
So bad, then happily ever after
This movie was very good, and may I say, I was on my toes and shivering during all of the scenes, but the ending ruined it! Made it a horrible, awful, dumb, waste of time piece of crap! The ending as you probably already know was, your son lived and you family is fine, and the aliens just magically died. Uggh! Uggh! Uggh! Yeah, I thought they should have had every human on earth die, that would have been cool! Anyways it was pretty good, except maybe Dakota Fanning who managed to scream the most fake horrible scream um, let's see every ten seconds. I strongly recommend renting it, but go ahead and skip the last four minutes, they'll make you feel you have a wasted away life.
Bambi (1942)
Amazing, the only 10/10 I've ever given!
I loved this movie. The animation was amazing. Today now they sometimes use too much computer animation, and it takes away from a film. This is truly animation at it's best, the kind that would take hours to make one frame. And the animals, young and old, were life like, and adorable. I live in the forest, so I was really in awe of how real it was! I did cry though when Bambi's mom died, and at the end. I know that some animals rely on the "mate then never see each other again", but it was so sad, because you could feel the love between Bambi and Felien, and then the dad couldn't ever be with his kids, or his wife, forever! I cried, and I hardly ever cry. This is one of, no the best Disney movie ever made. It had me glued to the TV for the whole hour and a half. I just wish I had seen it sooner, I'd already gone through my childhood before I saw this movie. I'm definitely buying the special edition DVD soon!
Racing Stripes (2005)
I loved this Movie
I never give ten out of tens, unless the movie was REALLY good. Also, I am a huge horse lover, owning nine, and big into racing, so I was catching flaw after flaw in this movie.
I loved this movie, although it was very predictable, I still liked it. The only flaws this movie had, were the Hayden P. parts. Don't get me wrong, she's an OK, actress, but I live around true hick accents, and her's was awful; they should have casted someone with a good hick accent. Also, they said three years later, and she Didn't look any older, c' mon, all 16 year olds, look different from their 12 to 13 year old self. Plus, she was WAY to tall and not skinny enough for being a jockey. The point is, a zebra could never win, ever, especially with a jockey that heavy. Jockeys are always under 100 hundred pounds, unless your 120 pounds like Sea Biscut. I thought what was funny, was the horses weren't even going at their "fastest" speed. If you watch the actually Kentucky Derby, then watch this movie, the race is in slow motion.
I really loved Dustin Hoffman's role. He was the best! The goose was OK, good if you love potty humor. I loved the horses they used, they were gorgeous! Being around horses, I always get a tingly feeling when you can see the shiny muscles of a horse running, it's one of the prettiest sights you can ever see. I liked how they showed what a race horse really goes through, treadmills and all! Above all this movie was not only star studded, but good. I loved this. I'll be buying in a few days.
Grand Champion (2002)
"Hokey" but really good
First I am a teenager. OK, and I have to say this movie was pretty good. I think any kid ten and under will like it, but people my age an up might be a little, um, a, well, we'd describe the movie as LAME! But I liked it. It may be that I still act like a kid, or I visit a cattle farm every weekend, but this movie was cute. I did like how the actors were like kids, not little blonde cutesy pies, wearing three layers of clothes, a trendy hat, and about a thousand assecories (like most shows today, to name a few, Drake & Josh, Lizzie Mc Guire, well any kid show.) And the setting was perfect, but there was a flaw. The family was in debt, right? Why in the world did their internal house look like something out of a "western" versace store? That was one flaw.
The cameos are great, there's about five hundred of them, and the only explainable one is Julia Roberts being the main little girl's aunt. How in the world did they get everyone else? This movie seemed to be on a tight type budget.
I liked this movie, it was a fun one to watch, and I thought some parts were far fetched (Like a cow selling for $750,000? Ha! my butt a cow sells for that much!) But otherwise it was good, I liked it, and I could watch it again. But I'd never buy it, there's not even special features on the DVD! What's up with that? But do rent it, especially if you have little kids running around the house.
Open Water (2003)
It was so strange, truly a pioneer to the film industry.
I loved this film. It was so strange, I cannot describe it. I came in thinking it was just another JAWS type film, but I was blown away instead. This is no monster movie, but rather a show where you actually feel like your in a situation where you might die. The semi shaky angles, constant water, and clouds, just make you feel like you were there. I have never been in a film where I feel I was the main character.
I won't tell you the plot, because just telling a tad bit of it, spoils it. You never know what to expect. However the ending was very sad. It wasn't a "cring" ending, it was a "I've just spent a whole life time with these people and now they have to leave" sort of ending.
I simply cannot describe it, because this moving does not speak 1000 words, it shows 1000 words. I loved it, but it is one of those movies you watch once and only once. GRADE: A+ (With extra credit)
Sorority Boys (2002)
In my Top 5 for Best Comedy EVER!
This movie is absolutely great! First I'd like to say I am a woman, and by 10 out of ten, I mean comedy wise, this IS NO sentimental, Oscar winning film. If you liked white chicks, you'll love this! It starts out by three guys getting kicked out of their dorm, KOK. So they try and get back some kind of tape that will prove their innocence. How do they get in? They dress up as chicks. (I thought it was weird that they referred to the one dude as the fat chick. He was hot even as a woman, Doofer should have been the fat guy.) Then they go in on all ladies night. Of course their kicked out because, they actually look mannish, of course. Then they go to a sorority called DOG, and are invited in. The whole movie snowballs from there. Dave (one of the drags) gets hooked up with a lesbian, who thinks he is a lesbian, very funny. When they finally kissed I cracked up! Doofer helps a girl with shaving, and then the "fat" dude is trying to get a tape, by hooking up with his own bother (Who ends up boofooing him in the ends). It is so funny. The end, with all the girls on a raft, is hilarious.
I am serious, and hardly ever laugh out loud. When I saw this movie I nearly cried. I bought it soon after ward, and if I ever watch TV and it's on you can guess what I'm watching. (+ If you don't have a sense of humor, but are a semi- perve, this might be the show for you) How ever feminists, no, don't watch this movie! This truly is one of the best comedies EVER!!!
