Jake and the Giants (2015)
It reminds me of my childhood!
I had a fantasy when I was a kid. I had a belief that I was a superstar, and if somebody kidnap my family, I'll rescue them and teach those kidnappers a tough lesson. I had this strong belief until I turned 14.
While watching this movie (Jake and the Giants) I saw me on Jake and it appears that Jack is playing my dream role in this movie. This is a movie about a twelve year old boy Jake and his family who was attacked by the Giants and apprehended all of them except Jake and his sister Joanie. At the age of 12, he had to face this and he left to rescue his family with no help. It needs a lot of courage to do that.
If I see this movie as a child's points of view, this movie has almost all parts that a kid looks for. It has adventure, it has fun, it has fear, and at the end it has happiness.
If you have not seen this movie, watch it! It will be a great moment, I can assure you.
The Test (2012)
A funny movie which is worth to watch
This past weekend, I saw the movie The Test. This award winning romance comedy is one to remember. The plot has Nathan and his finance Julia falling in love and heading for the altar. The only problem is that Nathan's best friend (and man) whispers a bit of doubt in Nathan's ear about the perils of love and marriage thereby encouraging him to "Test" the woman he loves to make sure she's all that she's cracked up to be when the proverbial you know what hits the fan.
He reluctantly begins the charade, but once he gets a taste of "the test" he spirals out of control trying to gain assurance that he's making the right choice and won't end up a "weekend dad". He rushes headlong into the heart of darkness as the tests start to tackle perpetually expanding unusual flavors reaching a state of perfection with him faking a coma.
Morrie Schorr as Nate's Dad is hilarious in a scene that's a real crowd pleaser. I won't give the details and spoil the movie, but it made me laugh so hard I was smiling for hours. And let's just say that there are several inspired scenes in the film that will leave you wanting more.
This movie Directed and written by Jeremy Saville and he is a genuinely talented auteur. He's proved he can produce top-quality product. We can't help but wonder what he could do if he broke away, even just a little, from the restraints of tropes and conventions. Whatever he does, we're sure it's gonna be great. Cinematographer Nate Tieman's work was also good. It won Fallbrook Film Festival Best Comedy Feature of 2013. Overall, it's a funny movie which is worth to watch.
