The Mandalorian (2019)
Better than the original Star Wars movies all added together
I enjoyed every single microsecond of this series, watched and rewatched again. Every single frame is a work of art. Kudos to the entire production team and scriptwriters for bringing us such an amazing series which sets the bar so high for future Star Wars movies or series. Every episode has a fantastic story arc and it's amazing how everything intertwined together with the original movies without any plot holes. It is a visual and character feast for both adults and children. I loved Mando's shining armour, Grogu's realistic cuteness, Bo Katan's sexy curves in her armour. In fact, every single character is so interesting. Even the bad guys. It's so good that I would rewatch this as long as I can spare the time. I also just wish this series will never end.
Ultrasound (2021)
Intriguing plot that is twisted and original
A play on the mind with inception-like deception. Layers and layers of mind boggling scenes and plot twists. All convoluted together in a story that makes sense at the end, yet leaves the viewer guessing. It deserves a 7 star because very few movies with unknown actors and actresses have left such an impression about the horrors, dangers and wonders of hypnosis. It makes one wonder. Have we ever been hypnotized in some sublimal form before?
Dune (2021)
How can this be 8.1 and Oscar nominee for best film?
I had high hopes and expectations before watching this, but it was so boring I fell asleep a few times while watching. The contracted subtleness in the dialogues make the story hard to follow and understand. I had to read some of the user reviews here to make some sense of what was going on and if there was anything I missed. The whole story is flawed and irrational. And disappointingly simple plotline. So some emperor laid a trap on the sand planet, why walk into a trap if the duke knows nothing good can come out of it? Greed? Doesn't it sound a bit like Putin invading Ukraine when US had laid a trap there?
Stowaway (2021)
Physics seems wrong
The gravity created by centrifugal force should not be acting downwards when climbing the rope, instead the person would be pulled towards the spinning direction. Anyway this storyline is really boring and meaningless.
Absentia (2017)
Mind-boggling thriller with many surprises
Just finished season 1&2 and I found it really good so far. The detective mysteries in s2 are quite well-planned and I like the cat and mouse hunting in s1. If u liked Dexter/Jason Bourne/24 series then u will like this. I find it underrated here. This series deserves at least an 8.
The Man in the High Castle (2015)
Gave up even on Season 1
Whole story doesn't make sense. Every episode is dragging its feet and pace is so slow! There is no sense of suspense or draw factor. I seriously think the ppl who say its good here have never watched breaking bad or other series with an 8 star rating. Really tried hard to watch it but after the 7th episode, I didn't want to waste my time anymore.
The Only Living Boy in New York (2017)
Pretty sick
Whole story is full of immoral relationships. What kind of twisted mind creates such a story? Does this happen in real life?
Tales from the Loop (2020)
The most touching and beautiful sci-fi I've ever watched
What's great about this series is you can never know or imagine what will happen each episode. Each story is unique yet well blended into the overall storyline. The pacing is slow but it is meant to be a show of the beautiful art and music and for the viewer to bond with story. Thank you for this beautiful series.
The I-Land (2019)
Starts off with a good mystery... but ended a bit too abruptly and non-sensical
Giving this show a fair review, despite all the negatives I've seen so far. I am a fan of Lost, so the 1st episode of this show was kind of reminiscent of Lost and got me to continue. Blue waters, beige sand, greenery, colorful animals and beautiful waterfalls. I guess that is what I like about this show, the scenery and the colors. First 2 episodes were pretty good, but when it came to the 3rd episode the sense of mystery was stolen from the audience. Well, so be it I guessed, they probably want to wrap up this series quickly and make a quick buck unlike Lost. Anyway I probably don't have the stamina to watch another 7 seasons so it was kind of a relief to sort of get the Jack out of the box quickly. But the show quickly deteriorates, all the characters' back stories got mashed up in a single episode, which felt very rushed. Some plots I could have imagined they spent more time to work on but didn't. Some brainless fighting in the facility, like the guard suddenly beat up Chase in the truck for no reason and she escaped to find the pods and there were people waiting for her there... I mean... this is some bad writing on Episode 3. A better way to tell the story yet not revealing too much clues to hook the audience would be to let her wake up, not have anyone explain anything to her, let her fight her way around and stumble upon the pods, then stun her and send her back in to the island. Anyway its also ridiculous when she got back to the island and tried to explain that they're in a simulation but none of the people believed her. I mean, if I am stuck on an island with no memory of anything and someone now explains this to me, I will definitely give it the benefit of the doubt. And these idiots start killing each other now even when they have been tipped by Chase... I mean.. how stupid can this plot get? Anyway the worst is yet to come, The cowboy warden in the last episode, is just absolutely crazy to try to cover his back but then expose himself later on in the show, which does not make any sense at all. And I was expecting the girl not to agree to back his back , but then she shook hands with him and somehow during the debrief he felt she betrayed him but i don't feel she did. Then he wanted to kill her off... and then got caught, and then sort of admitted to everything himself... i mean, wtf? And then because of this he got thrown to the I-land for a finale... is that a crime that ends up in death-row? Netflix should shoot the idiot who wrote the final ending.
