Fistful of Vengeance (2022)
Not worth your time to watch
This movie was an extreme disappointment from the beginning. It has a very weak plot and what plot there was was never developed, but rather things "dropped" in and you had to figure it out.
Too much blood and gore, too much unrealistic fighting. Totally unbelievable that 3-4 people can kill a hundred and come out without even a bruise.
And the hero, Kai, despite supposedly having Wu Assassin powers does not seem to use them and continually gets his arse kicked terribly, and finally comes up with some trick move at the end to win the fight. It is totally unrealistic to see people roundhouse-kicked in the head yet sustain no broken bones, teeth, etc. And get right up and go back to fighting.
The fight choreography was extremely poor and typical of this type of movie. The many bad guys are fighting one person and instead of ganging up, each waits his turn to fight. :You can see them waiting in the background and when one goes down, another steps in. Totally unbelievable. Also you can see timing pauses so the hero can get his stuff together and hit him. All have long sweeping swings for their punches, something martial arts persons would never do.
And the boat chase: Nice of the bad guys to come perfectly along side Kai's boat and match speeds so he can hit them with a paddle.
I could go on and on, but don't waste your time on this. It is not worth watching.
Invasion (2021)
Totally not worth watching
Invasion started out ok but quickly went to the most boring. There is simply not enough to keep someone interested.
There is too much time spent with people staring into space, group hugs and unbelievable things happening.
For instance stealing a car from a restaurant, where the car owner has conveniently left the keys lying around and unattended. One of the kids wants to pee by the side of the road but mysteriously disappears and ends up miles away through a fores and ends up at a house, also conveniently in the forest. And this happens while the parents were 10 feet a way. The parents search and conveniently happen upon the house, despite having no idea which way the kid went.
An alien breaks through the windshield of the car and the woman conveniently finds a piece of space metal to kill the alien with. Note: this was never told to authorities which would have probably wiped out all of the aliens.
Soldiers and others fire thousands of rounds and explosives at the aliens, all of which have no effect yet they still keep doing it.
I turned it off and never finished it, due to complete boredom and lack of a good story line. The writers need to up their game. Started OK, ended terrible.
Siberia (2018)
Not worth your time to watch
The director (Reeves) of this should have payed more attention to the characters. Keanu Reeves looked FAR too much like John Wick, even down to the clothes and the hair style. It would have been better if they had played up the original intention instead of wasting so much time on the love affair itself. It took up too much of a film that might have been better.
Lucas' dialogue was the pits to say the least. He even SOUNDED like John Wick in his lines. He was supposed to speak and understand Russian but too many times he just stared at the other men and said nothing or just shook his head. Too much silence.
The two days he was given to get the diamonds was more like four or five actually once you counted the days, nights and plane time. Those must really be fast planes
In the end, Keanu Reeves should stick with John Wick. He is far better at that.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Nice writeup and nice trailer but the film was not worth watching
It looked great and that it would be good to watch but after starting fairly well, it went to absolute garbage right away. The story went nowhere, no idea of where the things were supposed to. Too many unbelievable things and things that made no sense.
o Starting out to the satellite location with no idea of how to get there
o Freezing cold yet they have light winter jackets and they would have frozen
o Just happening to find a downed plane with a frozen pilot yet the only survivor was not dead from cold. I still have not figured out how the guy's being killed had anything to do with anything.
o Just happening to find a ship frozen in the ice and it just happening to unfreeze and move after they got in it.
o The doc falls in the freezing water with his snowmobile and somehow happens to be able to see well enough under the dark water to find his way up and get out of the water by himself.
o Despite being totally wet and in extreme low, freezing temperatures and wind, the doc somehow does not die from hypothermia in his light-weight winter coat.
o Somehow despite the cold, wind and snow, he manages to find the satellite station and make contact with the space ship.
o The space ship parts were terrible in many ways. One is that they survived a meteor storm which would, in real life, shredded the entire ship, yet they were able to repair certain things easily.
I could go on... and on...
I don't know who wrote this but it is not even science fiction and not worth watching, although I did manage to get through it, incredulity and all!
Moontrap: Target Earth (2017)
Absolutely Awful Movie
Don't waste your time or money on this awful movie. Poor acting, poor backstory and story line. Things just happen with no explanation, people die, things change. People running around doing all sorts of things with no purpose. Clandestine groups whose faces you never see.
The acting was terrible and you have t wonder who wrote the script. As another person put it, it was not thought out at all, sort of like a lot of random "outer space" thoughts just thrown together.
I usually like movies like this but this was one I wished I had not watched, especially the ending where the woman jumped into a machine and supposedly frozen, and to what end was never ever given. And most of all why was she the chosen one that went to the moon? And to finalize the movie, the final shot of a plant growing. Growing from what and where did it come from?
Confusing and poor movie at best. Don't spend you money or time on this one.
Dead Drop (2013)
Don't waste your money on this one
One of the worst movies I have viewed this year. An unbelievable script and poor acting means wasted money. Don't waste yours money on this one because it is not worth it. Lack of continuity and things that just "happen" without any follow up. It is very hard to follow this movie and get any sense out of it.
I rate this absolutely awful!!
Don't waste your money. It is not worth the money or the effort. Terrible Terrible
The plot changes so frequently that it is not possible to come up with it. There is no real plot and people pop in and out.
Stranded (2013)
One of the worst movies I have seen this year
Don't waste your money on this movie. Awful does not describe this movie and the lack of plot and acting. Christian Slater should be ashamed for acting in such a trashy movie.
This is nothing more that a cheap takeoff on Alien and a bunch of people running around in the dark.
The plot is unbelievable from the first and the things that happen make no sense. Space suits that burn, cheap plastic tubing to support the air supply, a woman which picks up a meteor (which is very dense and what she picked up could have weighed 200 lbs or more), and on and on. And the alien always wants to kill everyone and take over Earth. And the ending made no sense either, with the alien sitting there. I hope they were not leaving it open for a sequel!! The acting was terrible as was the dialog which further pushes it down to a D movie. They undoubtedly lost money on this one so don't waste yours. This may be a candidate for the worst movie of 2013.
Battleship (2012)
Worst movie I have seen this year
I vote this one and only because there is no zero. This is by far, the worst movie I have seen this year, and I watch a lot of movies.
Poor acting, poor story line, unbelievable all the way. Yes, it is a sci-fi movie but it lacks anything we have come to expect in sci-fi.
1. An alien race that can travel light years to invade us comes with only five ships, one of which crashes into a satellite. One would think that if they have a ship of that caliber it would be like a cruise ship hitting a dinghy. But instead, it is totally destroyed and crashes on earth.
2. One would think that the aliens who can travel light years would have shields for their ships and ray weapons. Nope, instead, they have weapons that fire line-of-site and and only fire explosive containers, which, by the way easily penetrate 12 inches of armor on the ships.
3. One would think that the alien ship bridge would not be protected by glass that is easily penetrated by a sniper rifle, which, by the way, after penetration kills the alien commander.
4. Alien ships that hop across the water? They flew from another planet but now have to hop.
5. Oh yes, and they arrive here with no communications and have to use ours.
6. The attack on earth made no sense. Why take out a baseball field and concrete highway supports?
I could go on and on and put many other things. Without a doubt, this is the worst excuse for a movie. I have wasted money on the DVD rental for sure. I would expect the well-known actors to be in higher quality films.
Save your money for something better; this one for sure is not worth it.
Troy (2004)
Worthless
I wish I had never rented this movie. The acting is terrible and while Brad Pitt is good in some other roles, he should never been cast in this one. There is no quality in the acting at all.
The fight scenes are the best, if you just want to see that. But for acting, this is some of the worst I have seen lately.
And what about their showing Greek ruins? The ruins were modern then so that detracted from the entire movie showing Achilles and Patricles sparring in the ruins.
I often wonder who comes up with things like that. The scenes are not thought out at all.
