De røde enge (1945)
Underestimated war movie about a Danish partisan
A movie about a young partisan of Danish resistance during the German occupation. Magnificent, highly charismatic acting of Poul Reichhardt (Michael) and others along with a clear idea make it captivating to watch. On top of that, it's the suspense and feelings involved that make it even better. On the downside, if you're used to special effects of 2022, you will likely see it as a drawback here, but otherwise - a great deal of drama and plot twists, certainly worth a watch. If it wasn't for minor flaws in editing, I'd give it a solid 8.
Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (1966)
Western - good, bad, evil. The way Leone created it
This film for me is not just the icing on the cake of the trilogy. The apotheosis of tension and the end of one long adventure. "Good, Bad, Ugly" made me immerse myself in what was happening with my soul and eyes. Just as it was created by the brilliant Sergio Leone.
Blond (Clint Eastwood) is a laconic, wise character with penetrating eyes. Nothing will confuse him - neither a gun at his temple, nor forty-degree heat. He seems to be for justice, but on the other hand, the feeling that the hero is pursuing his own interests does not leave. Cowboy skirmishes taught Blondin to make decisions with lightning speed, but carefully.
Clint Eastwood for me (and for millions of American viewers) is the standard: a role model for every boy from the cinemas of the 60s. Green-eyed, tall .. An icon of masculinity with unlimited authority in Hollywood and among ordinary people.
Evil or Tuco (Eli Wallach) - at first glance, a vile criminal with rat-like features, ready to betray his own mother for a bundle of dollars. A typical representative of the "nothing sacred" class. A vindictive person, incapable of appreciating the kindness of others (in response to saving his life and sacks of gold, the Blonde heard only angry scolding from Tuko). But for even a little childish naivety of the hero, the audience has compassion and indulgence for the bandit Tuco. He is not cruel. He just understands only in his business and puts it above everything else. A great addition to Blond (the complete opposite of Tuko, by the way).
Bad or Angelo (Lee van Cleef) - the viewer is familiar with van Cleef from the second part of the "a few dollars more" trilogy. But this time the actor opens up in the role of a negative hero, and not a conscientious colonel. To be honest, there were doubts that Leone would be able to "wipe" the image of Douglas Mortimer from his memory. But both the director and the actor did a great job. Lee van Cleef played brilliantly and in a different way - exactly as the viewer demanded. As Leone intended.
25% of the picture's legend, if you will, is definitely Ennio Moricone's soundtrack. Inspiring, inducing goosebumps, it is invigoratingly combined with the same epic, unforgettable scenes of the film, forever remaining in the archive of cinema classics. I take my hat off to Mr. Morricone, without whose compositions it is now impossible to imagine the best western in history.
If humanity were allowed to save only two films from the apocalypse, what other film would you save?
There was a desire to save this masterpiece for future generations.
Sergio Leone hit right in the heart
10 out of 10.
House M.D. (2004)
Dr House therapy
This will not be a review, but rather a metaphor with an emphasis on emotions. This time. Sorry
It's impossible to stay the same. Some have been treated, some have been diagnosed. Someone even died inside.
For me it's like quitting Vicodin. Endure the consequences of withdrawal all your life, and re-taking will not give the same effect.
Great series. There is not the slightest desire to throw hackneyed clichés. I hope that at least half of those who watched opened their eyes after watching.
- a series can be one-dimensional, but at the same time incredibly versatile
- a cold charismatic professional (tending to say a genius) gets to the depths of the soul unknown to anyone else, which is paradoxical.
We are all just an assembly of bones and tissues. And only the deed will live forever
People are idiots and liars. Not a revelation, but a convincing realization
Hugh Laurie went from comedian to drama actor. I applaud the greatest actor.
- Wilson. Unique
- The creators of the series gave us a hard drug, and at the end they took it away.
Is there life after House?
F Is for Family (2015)
R is for realism
A great way to get to know Bill Burr. Very realistic cartoon. An alternative way to see the US in the 70s and the middle class in the same years. Humor aside, one of the most unique characters in history, Frank Murphy, evokes sympathy with a well-crafted backstory that at times sends the viewer back to GG's childhood.
I've seen the prime Simpsons, Family Guy, and I'm a hopeless Rick and Morty fan. FIFF is an undisputed success for Netflix, a quality product, a breath of fresh air and just a great way to pass the time.
