The Stand (2020–2021)

What a huge disappointment

I had been waiting quite a while for this remake, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Some of the casting was completely wrong. Especially Lloyd, Trashcan Man, and Tom. This has always been my favorite book ever, and all the years they had to improve on the hokey ness of the original miniseries seems to have been wasted. I had a hard time making it through this. The original is better in every sense.

For anyone that is a fan of the book, don't waste your time. You will be extremely disappointed.

The only high points to me were the choices of actors playing Flagg and Harold Lauder.

Maybe I made a bad choice in watching the original and the remake back to back.

Patton (1970)

Holds up

George C. Scott was simply amazing in this film. Great portrayal of Patton. This movie still holds up after 52 years. The cast was great. The scenery and battle scenes were amazing. I highly recommend this film.

Boring movie. With bad 80's video game graphics. Carly Pope is the only reason to watch this. But even she can't pull this movie out of the trash heap. This is the kind of movie you buy at the dollar tree.

I gave this a shot even with the bad ratings just for Crispin Glover. What a huge waste of his talent. And for this movie being based on 150 missing students, they made the whole movie about one.

The movie was good, but had the potential to be great. Jonah Hill's character brought this movie down. He is like kryptonite to movies. Meryl Streep was great as always. I really wanted to rate this movie higher.

The special effects are the worst I have seen in a long time. Could be the worst looking werewolves I have ever seen in a movie. And the acting was just as bad. I can't believe I watched the whole movie. I don't know how some people rated this anywhere above a 3 at best. I highly recommend using your time more wisely.

This movie was better than I expected for a low budget horror movie. Bill Moseley was amazing in every scene he was in. What a great performance by a horror icon. Too bad he wasn't in more scenes though.

I read all the bad reviews here and almost didn't watch this movie. But this story has interested me since I first watched The Strangers, so I was intrigued to see someone else's vision. I actually liked this movie. Sure the acting wasn't top notch, but lots of low budget horror movies have the same issue. But it's definitely worth a watch.

The Night Flier (1997)

Underrated Vampire movie

This movie is overlooked by most. But the story is great. Miguel Ferrer is great. Based on a Stephen King short story of the same name. Definitely one of my favorite modern day vampires movies. Would like to see this remade since it's over 20 years old. Give this a watch. It's better than it's rated.

The Exorcist III (1990)

Amazing sequel

I just watched this movie again after over 25 years. It still holds up. Great cast, Brad Dourif really shines in this movie. Very underrated actor and movie. Not as good as the first movie, but still is a great movie. I highly recommend this to any horror movie fan, a definite must watch.

The VelociPastor (2018)

It was so bad, but I watched the whole movie. Damn sheltering in place! Making me watch terrible movies. The dinosaur is worse than the ones from the old Land of the Lost tv series. I enjoy bad movies, but this was as bad as it gets.

Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999 Video)

Mediocre at best

Tony Todd deserved a much better script than this. It was a waste of his time and talent. Wade Williams was good as he always is. Other than that there is nothing here worth watching. The first Candyman movie was great but the sequels leave a lot to be desired. They both needed a better female lead.

Wolfman (1979)

beyond cheesy

I don't know what was worse in this movie, the acting or the special effects. The transformation scene was about as bad as I have seen. The acting was like a high school drama class. Towards the end of the movie the wolfman is running around killing multiple people wearing a white long sleeve shirt, and the whole time it stays spotless. The lead actor takes his shirt off in multiple scenes, none while he is the wolfman. But his chest and back are hairier than his face is in the transformation scenes. I have seen worse movies, with worse acting but this is up there.

The Battery (2012)

Very overrated

I watched this because of all the great reviews. What a huge disappointment. Very slow pace. The character Mickey drove me nuts. I think the great reviews must be from the 10 people that put up their $600 to make this movie. Don't waste your time here.

Boar (II) (2017)

The cast is great. Some of my favorite horror actors. Plus some of the Mad Max cast, Wolf Creek cast, and from Charlie's Farm. Definitely worth a watch. The story is good, as are the kill scenes. I recommend this to any horror fan.

Between Worlds (2018)

Definitely not Nicholas Cage's best

It has become apparent that Nicholas Cage is just in it for the money. I wonder if he bothers reading the scripts anymore. This is just another one of his bad decisions. This movie goes nowhere. The acting is bad, the story is worse. It was tough to get through the whole movie. Feel free to waste your time watching it. I could have used my time watching this more wisely.

I had been waiting to watch this movie again since it first came out. What a huge disappointment. The acting is bad. The vampire attacks are pathetic. My hopes for a good movie were dashed by this crap. Horrible sequel to a great movie. And the storyline is weak to say the least. Don't waste your time like I did. I have never been a big fan of Michael Moriarty as an actor and this movie didn't help. I remember this movie being much better.

The Alien Factor (1978)

The acting was terrible. And the special effects were so bad. The sheriff drove around in a Chevy nova, his deputy in a VW bug. And the hospital was a house. And the aliens were very cheesy. It doesn't look like this film had a budget.

Dillinger (1973)

Classic

Another great performance from the amazing Warren Oates. Always one of my favorite actors. Great supporting cast including other greats Ben Johnson and Geoffrey Lewis. A very good period piece. Definitely worth watching. And the best Dillinger movie I have ever watched.

This could be the worst horror movie I have ever seen . The only reason I gave it 3 stars was the cheesiness of the special effects. The whole movie is like something my friends would have made in high school.

Don't quit on it because of the subtitles, it switches to English quickly. I like the grainy grindhouse quality of the film. Movie is worth a watch.

I'm angry with myself for watching the whole movie. The first movie was at least fun but this was beyond stupid. The acting was so bad, I don't know how Crystal Bernard ever got another acting job after this movie. Pure garbage, don't waste your time.
