Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Distracting Huge Digital Eyeballs, watching a video game...
I don't like films that make me want to throw up... Admittedly, my stomach is weak, but so is this video game / film / real horror show... I feel embarrassed for all involved.
Golden Years (1991)
So Bad it's Good?
As "Fredichi29" has said in his review, the ending is hilariously bad, but almost so bad that it's good, like in an Ed Wood way. Huffman is cool in the second half, but in the first half she seems to be playing an entirely different gal. Weird. Also, they try to sex her up, but it's mostly awkward. Near the end, though, she gets kinda hot, not gonna lie lol.
Snowpiercer (2013)
Pretentious, No Character Development...
I watched this film in a theatre in Incheon, South Korea. I found the intermixing of English and Korean interesting -- you can see the intermixing of cultural influences from the East and West throughout the film as well, which makes the experience very unique. I did find it strange that the only Korean characters are made to be desperate druggies... although they do end up redeeming themselves in some ways down the road. The main villain(s) as portrayed by Tilda and Ed Harris are indeed captivating; however, the 'good guys' headed by Chris Evans are incredibly dull and undeveloped characters. As they fight their way through the computer-game-like levels of train cars, we the viewer find ourselves wondering why we care about them. Maybe the original story had more there to make us like and root for the revolutionaries. This film is mostly a loud, violent mess with little purpose. And I really wanted to like it!
