My first ever look at Anime. After I became hooked for life!
22 March 2016
back in 1990 I purchased a VHS tape of Clash of the Bionoids at a local Kay-B Toy store and not knowing what it really was I was surprised that it was actually Macross. Now at this time I had watched some Robotech on the old UHF channels a few years back so I learned what was Robotech and What was Macross and when I viewed that video I became hooked on learning all about Macross and even new things about Robotech. Now seeing the Dubbed version of Macross DYRL was not that bad. A few years after that when the DVD was still quite new I purchased a copy of Macross DYRL and even though it tells the whole story of Macross the TV series in slightly under 2 hours it is still action packed and the anime is done slightly different but in a good way plus the mecha is drawn in more detail. All the characters from the TV series are involved in some small way or another. Some of the mecha will look slightly different that what is in the TV series but not enough for someone to say "What the heck is that" If you know the Valkyries or Veritch whichever you prefer, you will know when you see them. This movie was what pulled me into the world of Anime and even today I still can sit and watch this movie from start to finish and enjoy all of it.

Triggers and the Worlds
21 March 2016
A world where there are other worlds and those worlds invade that world humans live in. This anime is actually quite good. My major issue is the fight scenes which too much time spent on talking, reviewing and making up plans which make them too drawn out and longer than they should. Other than that and that it is not the best drawn I still do enjoy this show. There is quite a long list of characters and trying and remember who is who at times can be frustrating. When trying to remember who has any ties to the main characters or their strengths can get a little annoying as well. The action scenes are quite intense and it has plenty of action mostly with humans using adapted otherworldly technology for weapons to defend from those same otherworldly beings to prevent abduction or loss of the citizens of the city, they are Border and their job is to protect those citizens.

Not just another Power Ranger show...but one to remember
18 September 2005
This is a very good clone of the Power Rangers. Done very well an very well written. Now I am only saying this by Fansubs but fan subs can be very well done. The series ran 51 episodes an each episode made you want to see the next. There is a lot of stories going on in the run but we see a wide assortment of different villains. Even the bad guys have sorta a love story also. The mecha surprised me a lot with the different things each robot could do. First you see the robot then another 3 robots then there is a 5th one, then they combine to make one huge robot..then when u think there is nothing else it can do poof all new vehicles an robots an even the government gets a funky robot of their own too...love robots then there some there.. This is a real good series to watch, an to ones eyes at first glance would say as I did..." Oh my! another PowerRangers wannabe" but I changed my mind after the first few episodes.. an hopefully so shall you.

If you like Cybertrons you should see the Original Fasub Series
20 August 2005
Originally called Transformers Galaxy Force. The series loses some of the flare I got from watching the fan sub of it. Planet Keys are called Force Chips an called Planet Force, Chip Square instead of Omega Square. also the voices sorta confused me a bit...THundercracker an Scattorshot/Backpack have southern accents? When did Cybertrons have accents...not since Quickstrike on Beast Wars has any Trnasformer have an accent. I can tell you this much, watch Transformers Galaxy Force an then watch Transformers Cybertrons an see the changes. Don't get me wrong I like Cybertrons too just not as much as the originals. The Japanese do put lots of effort into there anime an it does show in the final product. Remember these were Prime Time shows in Japan so had to be good.

Robotech (1985)
Robotech is still one of the best anime/mecha series yet to date.
3 February 2005
I remember seeing this show on channel 25 after coming home from school. Now 20 some odd years later I still watch them. The series was very well done by one Carl Macek an the combining of 3 separate series was nothing short of brilliance. As a young person just starting to think girls where no longer yukky an icky, the show had a lot of feelings that I myself was starting to feel as well. The relationships between the main characters an how the situations either brought them closer or apart actually kept my interest just to see what was gonna happen next. I could never guess who was going to have the final relationship till the last episode. The giant transforming robots were also a big thing that kept my attention. About the same time Transformers were on TV an loved them big robots too. The three series that were combined were. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeda. All were unrelated until Mr Macek did his magic. This was one anime I do not think I will ever forget. This is a must see anime for anyone who would like a well done English dubbing an a series with a very interesting story like....oh yea! an lotta giant robots too!

Classic of the 80's Horror Flix
19 January 2005
The first movie alone with the name makes it one to see just to say to friends you saw it. It does mislead a lot of younger people because the name is so famous with the big guy with the hockey mask even though it has very little to do with him. You do learn about Jason an how the story begins but it still has enough juice to keep one interested. I saw this movie in the theaters an I still get that feeling of fright watching this movie. A lot of Friday the 13th movies starred a lot of now famous actors an actress's starting with part 1 starring Kevin Bacon. Do not expect a Oscar performance by him but its interesting to see him so young. I now own all of these movies on DVD an enjoy most of them the last few were kind of dragging the name Jason a little out of proportion but what the hell make a little more money why not.

This is a must see movie. I know many have already seen the higher numbered movies but one night sit an watch 1 though 4 (the best ones)an then one can appreciate the storyline.

If you want to see a classic horror movie then this is a very good choice, just make sure you leave the lights on an the doors locked!!!
