Assassin's Creed (2016)
Not cool being an assassin.
I watched this movie 3 days ago and I can barely remember what's all about.
I don't play video games so maybe this is one reason.
Another is that it's convoluted and lacks a clear red line from the beginning.
Speaking of beginning, it's about assassins, it's in the title, now if you are one, don't you need all your fingers when you accede in the fraternity?
Anyway, what annoyed me the most is that the main character was a pushover in real life and became a hero only when he was connected to the machine. Definitely the hero genes got diluted big time.
Some fighting scenes that I already forgot, but at some point I noticed there were a lot of assassins coming from nowhere who were not up to the task and were slain pretty easy.
Doesn't seem to be such a big thing being an assassin.
Red Notice (2021)
A Mr & Ms Smith without charisma
Unfortunately I wasn't born yesterday!
So I had the chance to watch, Mr & Ms Smith, Indiana Jones, Juwel of the Nile and some other. It's the been there, done that kind of thing.
And all the other ones have done it better! Way better! Why? Because all the other movies had charisma in spades! And it comes from acting. Go figure!
Wooden acting and no bond between the 3 stars has totally ruined this movie. Dwayne was an elefant in the glass shop. Crushing everything with his physique. Gal Gadot managed not to be sexy at all. And you need an atomic bomb to light a fire between the two. Ryan was somewhat better. Not great. Just passable.
The script is generic and not important. Just random exotic places brought to you via green screen. This didn't even bother me. Just imagine Gal passionately kissing Dwayne. You can't? Yeah! So it makes no difference what's in the background.
Did you just hatch in this world? Then this movie is for you. A 10/10 recommendation. And when you grow older, go check the other ones!
Bridge of Spies (2015)
Snail paced gray movie with no direction
Quite surprised how mediocre this movie is!
Great actors + Spielberg and a flop.
Many negatives, I'm afraid...
This movie is slow. Really slow. Hence 2h long. A quicker pace would have benefited the movie as a whole and cut it down to standard length.
It's a gray movie. Gray upon gray and some more gray. Situation was difficult post WW2 but I find this constant gray unnecessary. It is a spy movie not a concentration camp movie.
Actually it's not a spy movie, because nobody is spying anything, it's an attorney/court room movie but unfortunately nobody is doing any attorney work at all and there's no court room debate at all! And that's the main problem with this movie. It's about nothing!
It's just people meeting and discussing casually some issues but never diving more than skin deep in the problem, if at all.
Maybe you can earn an Oscar for just 10 min play while you say 2 lines, but this was far from it. Springs to mind Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder but Cruise wasn't even credited for his appearance!
An interesting story butchered by lack of direction.
Im Westen nichts Neues (2022)
Stunning!
OK, I get it!
It's not a carbon copy of the book, or any previous movie. I don't understand why people get so frustrated about that and downgrade this movie so much!
What should the director do, in purist opinion? Film the 1930 version in 4k? Then bear a deluge of accusations for lack of originality by copying a masterpiece? He had no choice! He had to change! And I commend him for doing that!
What was the result? A brilliant movie depicting the horrors and futility of war. Couldn't come at a better time! The message is loud and clear and presented with cinematics worth of an Oscar. Well done! Mission accomplished!
For those who blame the lack of character development, please watch any short video of the K-2 brigade in Ukraine. It's like, one walks through an empty field, a shell explodes, you're dead! Nobody cares who and what you are, if you have a family, aspirations etc. In space of one week, you enlist, go to the front, you die. End off!
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
7 Oscar's, countless 10/10 ratings... OMG!
Somewhere in the middle is a 3 min scene with 2 stones talking. Really sweet and... moving! 2 points for that! And that's it! You can skip the rest. Find this scene in a preview/trailer and you're good.
The movie is hard to watch because it is confusing. Constantly skipping from scene to scene and mixing English and Chinese dialogs. This constant skipping gets on your nerves because it is pointless and random. You can mix these scenes in any order and it's the same movie. I bet that if somebody would do that, nobody would notice when watching a second time. Better, you can take an one hour nap and you won't notice because it's the same crap repeating itself at random.
Content was grotesque. Doing random bodily harming and sexual actions to move between universes is daft and a script for low IQ audience.
Oscar's for acting? Really? Acting was just ok. A plus for JL Curtis.
Personally I stopped watching after 90 min and forced myself to resume the second day to discover the promised deep meaning that everybody is talking about. There is none! Just endless crap.
Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox (2018)
Brilliant idea
Hey, let's make a narcissistic, brain dead, botoxed bimbo host of a science show! What can go wrong?
Nothing really if you want to ditch your current audience and tap into the massive black hole watching the afternoon fake "reality shows".
Game of Thrones (2011)
Winter of the mind and common sense.
My god, all 1000 people who reviewed this series rated it at 9 and 10!
I must be from another planet not to see the greatness of this series, because all I see is a random mix of head chopping, tits, messenger crows, dangling dicks, knights on horses, chopped body parts, incest, long talks about epic battles that are not shown, more tits, foggy winter forests, dragons, whores, mental child abuse, the 3rd brother's cousin rightful king, wolfs, gay sex, living dead, speaking in tongues and oh, almost forgot about tits.
Seems like every episode was written on a used napkin after a booze and whore party. No story, no true to self characters, no real drama, no epic scenes, no continuity, no logic, no common sense.
If this is the future, sing me in for NASA's one way ticket to Mars.
PS Sad to witness the demise of western civilization. No values just sex and blood for money. China runs us down economically and is head and shoulders above with the Three Kingdoms TV series.
