Utvandrarna (2021)
Ruined the books
This film basically tried making a two hour movie out of four epic books, and failed miserably. The story is so convoluted that the only premise left from the books is that they emigrate from Sweden to America. Characters are cut, rearranged and now only the first couple emigrates. The moviemakers have basically ruined these books.
They've missed the deep meanings of the books and all its themes, and the characters are shallow shells of their formers selves. I absolutely hated this film from the moment I started watching it, and they're so far off how the books were written it's not even funny. I've never hated a movie adaptation of a book more than I hated this. Congratulations, you've ruined a masterpiece.
Watch the old version or the musical instead, those capture the books very well, unlike this garbage.
Paint Drying (2016)
A masterpiece
I laughed, I cried, I went down to the sea to reflect. I even found God! This is the defining movie of the century.
Pinocchio (2019)
Nearly walked out
I'm glad I didn't pay for my ticket, because if I did - I'd want a refund. This was so bad, and I can't believe that this film has the high rating it has. The actors were really bad, and the dubbing is a total mismatch with what the original characters are saying and how they're saying it. The film was at least half an hour too long, and it felt like it could've ended much sooner. Give it a miss.
Clown Motel: Spirits Arise (2019)
Garbage
I was tricked by the high rating here and thought: Hey, let's give it a try.
I should've read the reviews first. Don't bother watching since the acting, editing and all script is just the worst garbage I've ever seen. It's bad. Really bad. It's worse than a high school production of a musical.
I wasted money I can't get back. Boo!
Deep Fried Masters (2013)
Meh show
Well, if you've seen one episode then you've pretty much seen them all. The majority of the "cooks" are overweight and pretty much turn out the same calorie filled crap and then call themselves "inventors of this or that" or "legends in the business". They really make it sound like they're just as good as Gordon Ramsay or Martha Stewart, when all they do is add to the obesity epidemic of the USA.
All the food is basically the same and they do a lot of a** kissing in this series and a person can be eliminated on weird grounds.
February (2015)
Artsy fartsy meh
I wanted to like this movie since I really enjoy the genre of supernatural horror/thriller but this wasn't really good at all. Since it had a farily good rating I thought I'd give it a go, but I was disappointed beyond words.
The film is really, really slow and nothing happens. When things do happen it's boring and you're not surprised at all or feel frightened. The music and the way the film was edited played a huge part in it, plus the meh script. You could smell who the killer was a mile away, but it still took them far too long to reveal that the two narratives were set in different times - the future and the past. The actors weren't that qualified either, everything felt forced and unnatural.
Geostorm (2017)
Big meh
This is your average save-the-world-from-the-weather movie, the one that you've seen a million times already. How they ended up with Gerard Butler in the lead role baffles me, since the script isn't unique or written in a new and exciting way at all. I suppose he needed the money and some work. If you like this type of movie then go for it, but it doesn't bring anything new or relevant to the table at all, it's one of your dime a dozen natural disaster movies.
Gerard Butler's Mary-Sue character goes out to save the world against the man made weather situation and there's a B-I-G cover-up going on. The usual stuff...
At least I didn't have to pay to see it, because it would have been a waste of money.
La La Land (2016)
Lots of meh
I love musicals, but generally not adaptations to film or films that are written as musicals for a very simple reason: 9 out of 10 times they get trashed in the process. This is one and OMG did this piece of movie s*it S U C K. This film should never have been made as a musical and would have been much better as a film with elements of music, instead of a full blown musical. The music is the worst and there are not distinctive songs, everything just floats into one big pile of meh.
Phoenix Forgotten (2017)
Decent!
I thought that the film was decently made, even though I personally prefer films that use a higher quality camera when it's mostly filmed with hand-held cameras. The story was a bit shambled and sometimes hard to understand. It was also a bit generic and seemed liked a low budget film.
The Rezort (2015)
Script needed improvement
I like this movie's concept and the basic idea or the film was good, but I feel like it would have been better if it had had a couple more re-writes. The plot as it is now is far to obvious and the characters aren't believable. Overall the story needed much more dept and much less stereotypical personalities.
It Follows (2014)
Sucked so bad!
I'm a huge lover of horror movies and this one sucked so bad it wasn't even funny!
The music was tacky at best and was at times not even music and not cut in to make the movie better, it was weird and made it stranger than it already was. It was in short badly synced to what was happening on the screen.
The editing was awful and the extras were obviously green to making movies and taking cues on when to begin their action. It was at times very blurry and the lens wasn't focused, for no reason whatsoever.
Don't waste your time or money on this! Watch something good instead. This was a waste of my time and money.
Bröderna Mozart (1986)
Best Swedish movie
This Movie is the best and funniest Movie made in Sweden that I've seen so far! It revolves around the director, Valter, who's staging his own version of Don Giovanni (Don Juan). To his aid he has the pianist Flemming.
I Believe that in order to enjoy this Movie you need to be a musician or an opera singer, since most of the jokes and funny situations revolve around stereotypes of musicians, rehearsal pianists and opera singers.
But still, it's very funny to get an "inside view" of the twisted mind of (some) directors.
Watch it!
