The Guilty (2021)
Very frustrating
One of the most frustrating movies I've watched in a long time. The twist was no twist at all as one could see it 30 minute before the reveal. The movie probably could have been 30 minutes long if every question didn't have to be repeated three or four times. In trying to create suspense, all that was achieved is to leave one frustrated at the stupid acting and storyline.
Cheaper by the Dozen (2022)
Imaging
Can you actually imagine that there is someone out there who actually thought it would be a great idea of remaking a classic with this tripe? And the guy who play's the dad's role must be mad. Even if they paid me a couple of million dollars, I would not play the role. Everyone would compare me to the great Steve Martin. I feel embarrassed for him. That aside, the movie is just a lot of mess too. Again, I ask, who in the heck decided the time is right for a remake? And the people who funded the movie? Disney? They all should be fired.
a-ha: The Movie (2021)
Great and sad
This is a good documentary about my favourite band growing up on the 80's. I still contend that Scoundrel Days is one of three perfect albums ever made. The other two being Joshua Kadison's Painted Desert Serenade and U2's Joshua Tree.
It was sad though to see the ongoing strife and resentment between the band members. At times the constant bickering seemed childish, but like a family does, they seem to get together again. Therefore, great and sad feelings were experienced watching it. I suppose life never really presents the fairy tales we were told as kids.
Vigil (2021)
Lacked something
Vigil had all the elements to be a great show, but was sadly let down by mediocre writing. The crew of the Vigil was insubordinate, and did not represent anything what happens in real life. The producers should have invested in a good military consultant. One quick example, the crew's uniforms often looked like it was hastily put on just before filming started. It was often badly creased. As someone who spent years in the military, I can assure you, this would never happen on a real submarine.
The lead actor also did not convince me. She was good at times, but looked like crying for 95% of the time. I didn't buy her story. Why do the protaganists in these shows ALWAYS have to have some kind of serious psychological condition? So cliched.
Kastanjemanden (2021)
Really good without all the Hollywood glamour
This series is slow-burning as it develops, and offers a surprisingly good storyline. It had none of the flash and glamour of Hollywood productions that are lately over-the-top.
Great series to watch over a weekend.
The Lost Symbol (2021)
Boring and no mystery or atmosphere
This series is a letdown after reading the Dan Brown books and watching the movies that have been made. I have watched five episodes, and there is no atmosphere. The cast is as vanilla as they come. The clues just come to conveniently, and the whole production is just plain silly. The series is becoming more tedious to watch as it progresses (or should that be stagnates?).
A young Robert Langdon does not suit me either. Perhaps the actor is simply too one-dimensional, and I find myself not caring if he dies or not.
The background music is also often overbearing, and it is sometimes hard to follow the dialogue due to this. Not disastrous, not good, just meh...
The Last Ship: Courage (2018)
2nd last episode - good news
This show has simply become ridiculous. Glad it is finishing. Sailors who are special forces, pilots, politicians - all in one. Simply totally unbelievable and rubbish
Downsizing (2017)
Rather disappointing
The movie's trailer showed so much promise, but the movie itself felt a let-down. I am a huge Matt Damon fan, but this must surely be the worst movie he has acted in. Not so much that his acting wasn't bad, but the movie's script went in a totally different direction than was expected. Did he actually read the script before making the movie?
I didn't feel good, challenged or intrigued after watching the movie. It felt like rice... yes, I had something to eat, but it wasn't inspiring.
