Spiral: Suiri no kizuna (2002)
From a non-anime fan...
Worth a view, no doubt, if you love anime. As for those of you who are not very fond of watching Jap-animation, you might find it enjoyable. I did. Might have to do with I was expecting very little out of it, but the story is compelling and the characters are very real. The English voice-over could use some work for a few people, but turn around and there is are some voices that work superbly. The animation quality is only par standard, but it does the job and draws you in. All in all a most enjoyable romp. And if you are not even an avid fan of Jap-animation, you might just be drawn in. I was. Overall

Ark (2005)
A good romp
You can tell that the makers of this movie tried hard to do a good job (Something I feel lacking in most movies nowadays) The story is a good one if you like a breath of fresh air from those action movies to stop the nuclear bomb from blowing up the white house.
Two peoples on the same planet, one race dominating the other, have to leave their doomed planet before its too late. So, a priestess, Amial, from the opposing people constructs the ark, a giant robot to take them all to another planet. But then, for reasons unknown, she disappeared. One hundred years later and they are still on the poor stated planet, but there are rumors about Amial's daughter being able to pilot the ark, since many scientists could never move it. Could the adopted child of a General be the one? The conclusion was grand and exiting and the animation was beautiful. I thought I was watching live action at some points. If you don't mind a movie that has a few cheesy lines here and there, and you like animated films, you might enjoy this. I did. A good romp in the movies.
