What the hell?
9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I've enjoyed this show. But what the hell was that ending. I know they need generate drama in these shows. But the investigation being launched & those incredible leaps being made. Just stupid. Really stupid.

I can only assume that the villain dude from previous episodes has his fingers in it. Also if Bodie was clean up to tests, acted appropriately & so on. Surely they'd push for a quick drug test.

Just so dumb.

Just a shame when shows have to create stupid plot twists. At least the maybe daughter aspect is a bit more credible.

Guess time for season two. Hopefully not as dumb.

But still what the hell writers lol.

Just Avoid
14 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Saw movie today and went in with fingers crossed movie would be okay. Oh how I was wrong. It's not good when you start losing interest in the first 20-30 minutes.

Acting is so wooden and bad. Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson in particular. One scene in a forest has Sweeney reciting lines like she is literally reading verbatim from cue card. Acting so wooden I expected David Attenborough to start narrating.

Also don't expect superheroes or powers. You see maybe 2-3 minutes of actual powers by the spider-ladies. The rest is hinky misty scenes of Madame Web seeing the threads. The scenes in trailer of spider-ladies are very quick visions.

I'd say this is the worst superhero movie I've seen. Avoid it or at least wait until on streaming service you subscribe to.

Somebody Shush Phil
29 January 2024
I love the food & places in this show. Some of the locations are amazing and make me want to visit them.

But Phil, so annoying. It's like he's this little kid with all the over the top facial expressions and poorly acted 'enthusiasm'.

Big issue is a lot locations and meals are not places a common person would eat. Show seems at times to be lifestyles of the wealthy and privileged. Throw in name dropping other celebrities or chefs. Show just seems a tad out of touch with actual normal people.

I'd say though if I could cut one bit from show. The phone calls to parents. Okay we get it. He's portrayed as this 'aw shucks mom & dad...this is new!' But it's just so cheesy.

Oh dear

Just not funny.

Love Mel Brooks stuff. But this. I'm not sure what they were thinking. The jokes are just not funny. It seems forced humour. So far I've only laughed once at one skit involving the Jackass guys.

What comes to mind is Movie 43 from back 2013. Another what were the actors and comedians thinking vehicle. Skits that seem to try and push the comedy with not just stupid jokes. But idiotic characters..

Comedy sequel for the sake of comedy. Not sure I'll bother with last four episodes. Just not funny at all. Seeing other reviews. I'm glad I'm not only one having same feelings. One to avoid.

Weird
25 November 2022
Wasn't sure what to expect with this special. After viewing just have one thing to say. Special has a real weird feel. It wasn't exactly Guardians of the Galaxy, but it was. Sort of felt like a parody of the movies.

The duo of Mantis & Drax was kind of cool. The comedic chemistry between the two is pretty obvious. Quite a few scenes just made me chuckle.

Love Cosmo. So glad they are in third movie.

Only real question. Was that a CGI Groot or someone in a Groot suit? It reminded me a little too much of Thing costume from FF movies. Hoping that's not the Groot in 3rd movie.

Overall. Special was enjoyable. Just a bit weird & strange.

Don't bother
19 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Movie trailer seemed to show a great movie. Actual movie upon watching. Just a really badly written, badly acted waste of time. No really likeable characters. Just seems to be trying to hard.

Disney did it much better with the Descendants movies.

The whole duck out of water, nasty pretty girls, etc. Has been done over and over. Much better elsewhere. Is just a total waste of great actors. Charlize I'm starting to think needs to speak to her manager about the roles she taking. Some really questionable choices. Although in this seems to just be rehashing evil Queen from Snow White.

Just give it a miss. If anything something to watch when desperate.

Trying to hard
22 June 2022
I wanted to like this. But characters just don't have chemistry like those in original HIMYM. Characters seem bland and uninteresting. Jokes seem forced like they are waiting for laughs.

Show just doesn't work. I think I'll just rewatch another repeat of HIMYM to be honest.

Underrated Fun
20 February 2022
Don't listen to the negative reviews. Yeah it's cheap and acting not the best. But it's a fun movie. Grab a pizza and a drink. Enjoy and have some fun.

Love the throwback feel to horror movies of the 80's. Story moves along at steady pace with no real dead spots. Plus it has some laughs. Dumb laughs. But that's what makes it great. Just schlocky horror goodness.

Just went downhill
18 January 2022
Really wanted to enjoy this show. But as the show progressed it just kind of went nowhere and didn't get better. Just meandering along. Kind of can see why show was cancelled.

Was watchable, but from the must see perspective. Nah. Just not must see. Which is a pity. Show had a lot of potential. Found some of the lesser characters far more interesting then the main characters.

What a great little documentary
7 January 2022
Not much to say other then the title. Fantastic documentary about DS9. The actors, the writers and the fans. Just felt heartwarming and amazing. Truly something for the fans, and maybe something to get the non-fans to become fans.

Stay for the credits. Love it.

Satire, Yes. Comedy, No
24 December 2021
As a satire of politics and financial world. Movie is great. But as a comedy that it was billed as being. Most definitely a big no.

Movie was watchable. But laughs were not very plentiful. Not even really a few chuckles. Overall felt very depressing and heavy. If you're looking for a laughfest. Not the movie you're looking for.

Actors were A+ though.

Amazing. Just Amazing
14 November 2021
The animation is like artwork come alive, the story is engaging. The characters real. Possibly the best animation on Netflix, if not at the moment on streaming/tv.

Usually I tend to binge watch. But I love Netflix is releasing three episodes a week. Not immediate gratification, but still enough to make you want more.

Can't recommend show enough. Even to those who are not into animation. Style is like watching real people. Story just as good as any fantasy show.

Books of Blood in name alone
29 October 2021
Not really an adaptation of Clive Barker's Books of Blood. Middle story loosely adapted. But other two stories, just tedious and boring stories. As a fan of short stories Barker wrote. Was excited to see they had 'adapted'. Now just want to know how I can get the last 1-2 hrs of my life back.

Give this one a miss. Generic horror at its best.

Slow at times, but worth it
15 October 2021
The first season felt a little slow at times. Feeling like I didn't quite know where show was going. But second season. Fantastic. Really enjoyed it. Was focused and most definitely the pay off was the final episode. Loved the ending of season 2. Just so much potential in a third season.

Netflix please raise the budget. Make a third season. This could be your Expanse, your Babylon 5, your Star Trek.

Just doesn't work
31 August 2021
Chris Rock just doesn't work in the role. Can't see him as a tough guy. His acting is so wooden, his character should have been called Detective Floorboard.

Movie just didn't seem right. It felt rather then a flowing movie. Just seemed like a series of scenes. Serious step down in quality.

Chris Rock said this isn't a vanity project. Yeah sure. This is vanity at its worst. Rock felt he could add his own brand to something that didn't need his brand.

So good!
13 August 2021
I just LOVE this show. It shows the ins and outs, up and downs about love in all forms. I love that it is at times brutally honest about 'love'. Beautiful, bittersweet, sad, happy, tragic, platonic...everything just seems to be covered.

Laughable Bad
24 July 2021
Movie must have been incredibly cheap to make. Actors in life raft or standing on stuff. A few underwater shots. What seems to be stock or recycled footage of sharks. Bad special effects.

Pretty much a Sunday afternoon, leave brain at front door movie.

Dumb Episode

Everything about episode sucks. Tone, acting, story. It just annoyed me so much. Definitely one of the worse episodes. Just feels so forced. Also the kid actor. So annoying.

Fantastic episode for my favourite character in the show. Billy Porter is just a phenomenal performer. The church meeting. Worth 10/10 for that alone.

Should have stuck to source material
19 April 2021
Show was okay. But I wanted more Hellstrom like in comics. Less of what they gave. Felt like a weak Constantine. Paving was just meandering and slow. What could have been amazing was just average. Top of my head could think of a dozen things to pep it up. Worth watching if fan of Hellstorm from comics.

Was a little slow to start in first two episodes. But by third definitely drew me into story. Gathering momentum as it went. Would recommend the show. Just give it time. Most bingeworthy.
