The Knick: Get the Rope (2014)
Season 1, Episode 7
9/10
The best one yet.

I never could fully understand why I continued watching The Knick after its pilot episode. But after watching today's episode I am drained of all compunction that I might have had before. I am not savvy to any of the medical terms and nor am I seemingly empathetic to the doctors' plight during that era. All the same, something kept drawing me back to it. And I am all the better for it. I needn't be too emphatic on Clive Owen's acting because everyone knows how good an actor he is. The characters are gradually starting to mean something to me, if they were not already. The direction as always is impeccable and the writers don't seem to feel the need of fastening their pace. If there's anyone among you who is dubious of continuing to watch, you don't need to be. Enjoy the new episode. You certainly wouldn't be wasting your time.

Person of Interest: Panopticon (2014)
Season 4, Episode 1
9/10
Looks promising.

I've been waiting for the fourth season to premiere ever since I saw the season 3 finale. Despite being the creation of famous writers, POI has always been underrated until it started to revel from the very start of the third season. The larger story came into the view as opposed to isolated incidents of every week. This episode thickens the plot and explores how the machine and its aides try to fight back against a seemingly sovereign archenemy. I would call this a really good start to the much-awaited fourth season. I can hardly imagine anything that they could have added which could have further kindled the audience's anticipation.
