The Lady of Heaven (2021)
Waste of time
I was bored to tears, it was over hyped and in the end it left me thinking "WHY DID I WASTE MY TIME AND MONEY?" After seeing the trailer, protests and the reactions behind I thought it'll be a masterpiece but I was thoroughly disappointed.
Tribal Get Out Alive (2020)
Excellent Independent British Martial Arts Horror Action
This was a really good independent British action film, highly recommend it if you enjoy horror, martial arts and good acting with a decent plot. The film has some great acting from the lead actors, Zara Phythian and Ross O'Hennessy, who play military veterans that are now working as eviction bailiffs and face many hazards of their profession.
We all know the veteran British actor Ross O'Hennessy from his various film and TV roles and has always been able to deliver a great performance, so no surprises there. However, many of you may not be familiar with Zara Phythian, who is not just a pretty face but a champion martial artist and equally an excellent actress. I would say her talents are a mix between a young Helen Mirren and Cynthia Rothrock. The fight scenes are amazing, she sure knows her stuff and it is further complimented by her acting as an army veteran who's sufferring from PTSD and she deals with it via combative methods. I always wanted her to play Elektra in Marvel's Daredevil as she has the martial skills, the exotic looks and acting talents to portray a complex character like that and she is a natural with two swords as seen in this film.
Even acting newbie (and kickboxing champ) Thomas Dodd did a great job portraying a detestable character who's spoilt, greedy and just shady AND even got to show off his skills in some of the fight scenes.
Good story that keeps going, there are some twists and turns that make you think one thing and turns out to be another. Well made film indeed.
Gang (2000)
Underrated and underappreciated obscurity
This is a truly underrated and underappreciated classic, one of the last dying breeds of true action cinema which has some amazing acting with a stellar cast and the direction is well done too. This film had many problems with its productions, taking ten years to make due to budgets, actors dying (Amjad Khan who was gonna play the main villain) and more. If you enjoy gangster films with good story, decent acting and great directing, then this is the one for you.
Nana Patekar and Jackie Shroff are amazing as always, no questions. Both Kumar Gaurav and Javed Jaffrey were OK, not bad but could have been better. This is a real underrated gem!
Dracula Untold (2014)
Great cast and acting!
My reason for giving this film a 7 is for the cast, a great ensemble of British talent and including the son of Sir Ben Kingsley; Ferdinand Kingsley!
The character of Vlad/Dracula is a very tragic one, he makes the ultimate sacrifice; forsaking himself for his family and his kingdom! Very much like Eben Olson (Josh Hartnett) in 30 Days Of Night (2007) does what he does at the end to save his wife and townspeople.
It is well acted, well casted and really well acted, the British cast is just amazing with the likes of Charles Dance, Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper, Ferdinand Kingsley and also Paul Kaye, all did an amazing job!
The special effects are quite OTT, the film is full of it and if you are looking for something historically accurate then don't expect anything from this film. It is just a retelling for entertainment purposes and the characters are really strongly portrayed.
I do recommend it, it was better than Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter film and one of the better vampire films of the recent years since the whole Twishite craze!!
Bare Knuckle (1991)
great game, an underrated classic!
This was and still is a great game, a very underrated classic. Limited in variety but still playable nonetheless. Good old times playing the good guys against the army of evil bad guys. Even today I play this game and with great joy as it brings back great memories of the young days. too bad it wasn't a film, had a lot of potential to be a better film than street fighter, maybe even Mortal Combat.
The cast wouldn't have been hard to find and i am sure there are many good directors out there who could have pulled off a good production from a set story.
a definite classic!
