The Crush (2010)
This is a story of the caliber of the male.
This is a story of the caliber of the male. A boy likes his teacher very much. One day he notices that the teacher will be married with her fiancé. The boy tests him by means of a duel. To tell the truth, I can't understand what this film wants to say and why many people appreciate this film. Certainly, this story is fun. I enjoy this story. However, I only enjoy this story. I am neither moved nor excited, but what we can learn from this film is that cunning is one of the important things in our lives. The boy speaks calmly in this film, so we can feel fear from his cunning. When the fiancé goes to the duel, he doesn't have the pistol for the duel because he thought that the duel is just what a child says so he makes light of the boy. If the fiancé is more cunning and he tries to kill the boy to exploit the offer of the duel, the end of the film is different. The fiancé is so foolish because he abuses the teacher in front of the boy though the boy offers the duel because of the teacher. If the fiancé is so cunning or clever that he can see through the boy's project, he will enjoy the life of newlyweds.
Paperman (2012)
the embodiment of a delusion of virgin people
Many people may say that this film is a beautiful love story. A man meets a woman. After that he sees her from his office. She works opposite his office. He wants her to notice himself so he makes many paper planes from his documents and throws to her office again and again. I think that almost all people experienced the emotion that he or she wants to talk to someone whom he or she meets in a public place. Therefore if I say beautifully, this film describes the wish of humans. However my impression is different from that. When I finished watching this film, I thought that this film is like the embodiment of a delusion of virgin people. I don't know why I thought so, but I think that this film is far from reality. If I made paper planes from documents, my boss would fire me. In addition, paper planes do not move by themselves and if a man cross the road where a lot of cars and streetcars go, he will die before he reaches the other side. Actually, I don't want to criticize this film. This film is beautiful, so many people don't think that this film is unreal.
Otousan no tabako (2007)
the part of a crime
Many people think that this film describes the bond of the family, but that isn't correct. Actually, this film describes the part of a crime. In this film, the father is addicted to tobacco and he has serious illness because of tobacco, so he asks his daughter to buy it with his money. She wants him to die because she knows that when he dies, the girl can get a lot of insurance. If she gets insurance, she can live richer. Therefore, she uses this fact. She knows that smoking will kill him, so she tries to buy tobacco again and again to kill him even if her mother stops her. In brief, she commits attempted murder by willful negligence. In the last scene, she gives up giving tobacco to him. It is because she is convinced of his death and if someone knows she gives tobacco to him forcibly, the project goes all to pieces. This film appeals to stop smoking not to "be killed by tobacco."
Knick Knack (1989)
trial and error
This is a film that depicts trial and error. A snowman is in a snow globe. He wants to get out from the snow globe. Although he tries many methods to get out, he can't. This film is created with computer graphics. This film was made in 1989. In 1989, we stood at the dawn of the technology of computer graphics, so watching this film now, we feel that the feel of the material is artificial and the actions of the character of the film are very unnatural. However, the raw computer technology reminds us of our past days. In this film, the snowman tries many methods such as drill or bomb. It is so far from reality, but it makes the film funnier. I don't know whether the real glass of the snow globe is as strong as the glass in the film. The strength of the glass is essential to this film. I couldn't imagine the end of this film. It is far from my imagination but it isn't interesting very much. I hope that this film has more interesting in the end, but the story is very plain so it is good to show this film to children.
The Lunch Date (1989)
This is a story of an old woman.
This is a story of an old woman. She arrives at a station in order to take a train, but she misses her train. After that, she goes to a restaurant in the station to have some dish. When she notices that she has her purchase stolen, she cries, but after that she leaves her baggage on the seat in the restaurant that she sits and is upset. When I watch this scene, she is so foolish because she is careless very much. However, I think that she is the incarnation of human foolishness because she is an old woman so it is natural that she forgets her baggage. When we watch this scene in this film, we can laugh at her, but if we stand in her situation, we may do the same thing. In brief, the really foolish people may be not the old woman but the people who watch this film and laugh at her. Near the end of this film, she begins to laugh. It is difficult to understand why she laughs. Perhaps she laughs at us from inside the picture.
Three Days in Kamakura (2012)
story of a kind man
This is a story of a kind man. A man and his wife live in Kamakura which is a Japanese city. He works at a preschool. He is kind, so when he and his wife are bullied by their neighbor or he is forced to work by his co-worker, he says nothing and cope with them. One day, a mother of the boy who goes to the preschool doesn't come there to meet him. The man worries about him and takes the boy to his home. This story is typical in the world of fiction but this story is so compact that we can watch it easily. However, I feel that too many techniques of fiction are used in this film, so it is good to make this story more natural. By not depending on the technique but telling the story simply, we can enter the world of the film. The boy is half Japanese and half other country. This fact reminds the couple of their sad past. This is very an important point of this film, but we can't deny the déjà vu because the plot has been used many times. It helps that we can understand this story easily, but it may be good to make the other plot that has reality and is more imaginative.
Lifted (2006)
UFO comes above a house
One night, a UFO comes above a house to carry off the man who sleeps in the house. However, the alien who controls the beam that can move everything can't control it well and it is difficult to carry off the man easily. The reason why he can't control the beam easily is there are a lot of switches. When I watch the scene in this film, I can't believe that the aliens have to operate these switches to control the beam because if they have the technologies that can make the UFO and go to the earth, they must have the technology that can carry off people easily. The zest of the science fiction is the fusion of imagination and reality. The balance of them is very important. The many switches are the core of the film, but if it is unrealistic and it destroys the world of the film, the film gets absolutely nothing out of it. The end of a film is important. Naturally, this film has an end. People who watch films hopes that the film has the end that he or she can't imagine. People who watch this film may be able to imagine the end of this film easily. I think it is good to make a more imaginative.
Gasman (1997)
it is Christmas time
I can't make sense of this film from the beginning to the end. In the film, it is Christmas time. A girl, her little brother and her father dress up and go to a pub to have a Christmas party. They go there without the girl's mother. Walking on a railroad track, they meet another family that is composed of a girl, a boy and their mother and they go there without the second mother. In the party, the girls have a dreadful row over the father. First of all, it is difficult to listen to the voices of the characters of this film. They speak quietly and unclearly. I can feel the intention of the production but as long as we can't listen to the voices, it is ineffective. In this film, the technique that they don't demonstrate directly but hint at is used a lot of times, however the hints are so difficult that to understand them disturbs watching this film. As usual, the end of this film isn't demonstrated directly, so when we finish watching this film, we can't feel catharsis. In brief, I want to say that overdone technique spoils the film.
The God (2003)
The problem of freedom of speech is difficult
This is a nonsense film. An Indian god is bothered by a fly. He is weary of the fly and tries to crush it. The first thing I want to say is it is better not to use the gods as material for amusement films. It may turn out that some religious people who watch this film dislike it. If those who made this film aren't Hindu, they should respect the beliefs of others, so to use the gods as the material for the films is inadvisable. If a Hindu watches this film, he or she may get very angry. I think that the idea of using a motionless thing such as a statue or a doll is not so bad, so I can't understand the necessity to use the god. Surely the scene that his many arms do him a disservice is in this film, but it doesn't matter that it is not the god but the doll of the spider. Perhaps the producer thinks that it is funny that a god has trouble with the existence of a fly. However the producer should know that he or she loses something in exchange for their fun.
Fish Out of Water (2005)
Almost all people may have a secret pleasure.
Almost all people may have a secret pleasure. The secret pleasure has the value when it is secret, so if other people enjoy it, it is no longer a "pleasure." The main character in this film also has his secret pleasure. It is rowing a boat. When he goes to and from his office, he rows a boat to avoid the traffic jam. But people who know that he rows the boat ride on his boat and they undermine his secret pleasure. He lost his secret pleasure and becomes a mere shell of a man. However, he doesn't give up. He finds his new pleasure. It is swimming. He swims in the sea to go to his office. Thanks to it, he becomes vigorous. A woman watches everything. She is just a looker-on, but her existence is very meaningful because thanks to her existence, people who watch this film can sympathize with him to attract her attention.
Father and Daughter (2000)
Beautiful
When I watched this film for the first time, I couldn't understand what this film want to say. However, watching this film again and again, I found the fascination of it. In this film, nobody explains why the Father rows a boat and goes away without the Daughter, but I don't think that the explanation of these things is meaningful. Indeed, if there were the explanation of it, this film would be inelegant. I think that this film depicts the bond of father and daughter and the transience of human life. It is because since the Father goes away, the Daughter goes to the shore to see whether the Father comes or not every day, and waiting for the Father's return, time flies and she get old easily. I think when she found the Father's boat, she was happy because she feels the Father and getting together again. The simple animation and beautiful music narrate these things so emotionally.
Whacked (1998)
Oppression
When I watched this film at first, I was so surprised because this film ended suddenly, but watching this film again, I was able to understand the meaning of the scene that was the first scene of this film and people in the film suddenly fell down. A man drives golf balls from the top of a building in New York and the ball hits the head of the people in New York. He works at a driving range and many bourgeois come there to practice golf and overworks him with contempt. I think that he gets tired and hates the world and he wanted to get back at the world and the people, so I think that he drives golf balls to the society which oppressed him. I think this film describes not only him but also everyone in the world because when we are whacked, we have the possibility that we do the same thing.
