Dinner for Schmucks (2010)
Steve Carell in a master of awkward moments
I had never watched Dinner with Schmucks because I only heard negatives about it. I should have trusted what my gut knows about Steve Carell and just watched it soon because I laughed off from start to finish. Carell plays a kind hearted IRS employee with a bizarre all be it harmless hobby, who continually miss social cues, and makes ever problem worse despite his best efforts. Carell is a master at the awkward moment and this film is loaded with them. The rest of the cast is stack with great comedic actors that who are no stranger to the awkward comedy play book. I know that some are not fans of this kind of comedy, it's a little to brave for some I guess but you could always watch something else the film does rap up the way it needs to in the end.
Rogue One (2016)
if you love the Star Wars universe you'll love Rogue One
First my thoughts on the haters, if you read crap on this movie they either never liked anything about Star Wars or they aren't going to be satisfied by any new Star Wars project. Craping on Rogue One or Force Awakens is something that makes sh*t heads feel good. The fact is Rogue One was the perfect start to the Star Wars anthology series and the darkest and most adult Star Wars tail by a wide margin. It you have watch the original many time like even the mildest fans have, you will have a pretty good idea about how this is going to end but the well told story and character development will make you care about what happens to the team that sent the Death Star plans to the rebellion. If the Han Solo and Boba Fettmovies are half as good then the anthologies will do well.
30 for 30: Tim Richmond: To the Limit (2010)
No one is invincible
This is a very well done documentary about on of the best talents to turn a wheel. It is also a very sad cautionary tail. Despite what another reviewer has complained about, 30 on 30 did talk about Tim's sex life but i think that review wanted to hear that Tim was gay so he can continue to delude himself that heterosexual sex can't transmit HIV. Nearly 20 years on we know better, and if you pay attention although no one comes right out and says it Tim was a total hound. His sister pretty much summed it up and she loved him deeply. Gone fare too soon, they should have done a movie about him instead of twisting his life into Days of Thunder.
