Frozen (2013)
Good, but not as good as Tangled
Don't get me wrong, I love Frozen. The Disney animation is skewing in the direction I like: moving toward the large eyes and button noses of anime is beautiful and speaks to me. But some of the songs I didn't enjoy as much as the last great Disney movie, in my mind, Tangled. I have friends who are telling me I'm crazy for thinking Tangled is better, but the songs and the storyline was just that much better in my opinion. That being said, the Let it Go song in Frozen was a work of brilliance and the animation of the ice was just beautiful. Additionally, having two sisters as protagonists was a welcome change. 8/10
Elementary (2012)
Fabulous Series
Elementary is a contemporary take on the classic Sherlock Holmes, much like the recent series Sherlock. I think both are excellent, but Elementary in my opinion has an even better storyline. Each episode brings in a new brilliant crime that needs solving, and the way they are solved keeps you entertained the whole way through. The acting is fabulous all round, especially from Johnny Lee Miller (Sherlock Holmes) who consistently brings in strong and believable emotions, leaving me to just say: who could possibly play Sherlock better? (I know many think Benedict Cumberbatch, and I respect that, but Johnny is really fantastic in this!!) One critique that I believe exists around Elementary is the contemporary setting, in which Sherlock is a recovering drug addict, and the role of Watson (Lucy Lu) is as his sober companion. However, this puts the story in a modern context, and the fabulous acting and writing make it worthwhile. All in all, it is a must-see for any crime fans, or fans of Sherlock Holmes, or anybody with a passing interest in good television.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)
Good Movie
I haven't read the Tom Clancy book. Maybe that's why I thought it was a good movie. Chris Pine was very good at his role of playing Jack Ryan, and I found the storyline of the movie very engaging and interesting. It had a good cast and a strong plot that kept me engaged throughout the entirety of the movie. I think that many of the reviews are overly harsh about this movie; it is one I wouldn't mind seeing again, and it was far above average. I enjoyed the action and suspense that this movie portrayed, and the emotion that Chris Pine portrayed in certain moments. It was enjoyable to see some thought go into the reasoning behind the economics that the movie was based on.

Little Witch Academia (2013)
Best Anime Short Ever
I am an anime fan, and I have seen a fair few in my time. This anime short blew me away. It is a beautiful, funny, fun and interesting adventure for all ages. The side characters, such as Sucy, are hilarious and very creative. It is a well-told story, with a good soundtrack and it instantly makes you want to see more. Little Witch Academia was a one-off anime short, at about 24 minutes, but their kickstarter campaign for Little Witch Academia 2 was successful, though a release date hasn't been announced. I for one can't wait until the follow up comes out, and many people feel the same. There is very little to fault with this. Verdict: A must-see for all anime fans.

Adventure Time (2010)
A great show
At first I didn't get Adventure Time. I was confused, and everywhere I went when I saw the hype, I even got a little aggravated. "Why is everybody worshipping a silly kid's cartoon?!" I wanted to scream. I watched the first few episodes and didn't quite get into it, but then something amazing happened.
I started to enjoy it. Adventure time seems, at first glance, to be a silly child's show, but really it is entertaining to people of all ages. It features many hilarious jokes and good story lines, and it has good continuity. It has an enormous, fantastical world, created by an imaginative and talented mind. It has good voice actors, and is all round a fun show to watch. I am a teenager (or was last week) and I didn't care much for it when I started. But if you stick with it, I find it hard to believe you will not come to love it, and you will have the only complaint with it that I do. Why are the episodes so short, and why aren't there more of them!

The Last Airbender (2010)
Disappointing
Hey everybody, this is my second review. I'm just going to politely say what everybody else has ranted and raved about. I was an enormous fan of the TV series, which in my opinion was close to perfect, and yet they brought out a movie like this. It saddens me to see people go so wrong in every aspect of the movie. The acting was stiff, and frankly the director was well off course, for every aspect was disappointing. I'm sure they all tried their hardest, but frankly this is not an enjoyable movie. I heartily recommend anybody who has read this to watch the TV series, which was an incredible source of entertainment for me, for quite a long time. The series is honestly one of my favourites, but this movie is not worth seeing. If you have seen the series and are deciding whether or not to watch the movie, please don't. The movie will almost certainly take some of the magic away from the Avatar: the Last Airbender series that many people have enjoyed for such a long time. It is a shame that such a good run had to be spoiled by this movie, but i suppose you have to look on the bright side. Look at what we had with the series, and be content with that.
Stay classy people. Steve.
