A Night to Remember (2014)
Not worth your time
I was looking for movies on Youtube and found this "movie". I really use the term loosely, because there was no thought put in to this movie. When you do a 10 minute scene of hide and seek, you know your movie is a failure. No wonder why this movie was put on Youtube for free. No one would be crazy enough to buy this movie. They are even charging people to spend $10 for it on their website. What a joke! This is a poor excuse for a "movie". I do appreciate good indie movies, but this is just bad. The acting was so-so, which really makes you wonder if there was really a "script". The dialogue didn't seem natural at all and seemed forced. Just an all our bad effort for this movie. What is really funny is that there was an "acting coach" for this "movie". This just proves anyone can pick up a camera and try to make a movie. But this was a poor attempt at one.
You really will waste your time watching this movie. The surprise ending didn't really come off as a surprise at all. The found footage style of filming as been done to death and this is the third movie this "company" has done. I guess they don't know how to do anything else.
People, seriously stay away from this movie. Don't kill an hour of your time, by watching this travesty.
The Dead Will Rise 2 (2013)
Is this for real?
Okay, thankfully I only lost an hour of my time, instead of paying any money for this. This is horrible and that says a lot for an independent movie. This is supposed to be a zombie movie right? They had what like 2 zombie attacks? And it was the same zombies over and over again. What is even more surprising is that there was a script for this. I guess the "directors" cared more about a boring story than zombies. Seriously, who decides to put in a 10 minute scene of someone on a cell phone? Don't even get me started on the "gun fight scenes". They are laughable and just down right sad. It's really hard to imagine that they thought they made a good movie.
Seriously, don't waste your time watching this. This is a very poor excuse for a zombie movie. I would rather watch Warm Bodies over and over again, than watch this again. This is more of a student project movie (that would probably fail as well), rather than a real movie.
I do respect the independent community and the filmmakers. But this isn't anything close to a film. It's a shame that anyone with a camera thinks they can make movies. They can't and this movie proves it on all points. This will be the last time I watch anything from this company. I just can't stomach wasting my time with their "movies".
New Blood Rising (2014)
Amazing Low Budget Movie
I wasn't really knowing what to expect from New Blood Rising. I thought the trailer looked amazing and it made me want to see it. I ordered the movie online. After watching it, I was surprised at what I just seen.
New Blood Rising does show it has a low budget or even no budget. But the story is so good, you forget about the budget. Chad Zuver wrote an amazing story and executed it perfectly. There are some rough spots in the movie, but every movie is going to have that. But the final product turned out great.
I respect the indie film community and this is a reason why. The acting was top notch all across the board. Except for one actor. Nathan Pelland was horrible and I didn't like his character at all. I'm not sure if it was from the script or the actor himself. But I couldn't stand him. Kayla Elizabeth, Vanessa Leonard, Dana Furlong, and Thomas Sloan were the glue that held the movie together. All four of them were outstanding and I want to see more of them. Kayla and Vanessa were incredibility interesting as the vampire sisters. They both of some serious acting talents.
All in all, New Blood Rising is a fun movie that everyone has to see. Who cares about the production budget for the movie. The story and acting eliminate the lack of funds. I give tons of credit to Chad Zuver for making a great movie.
