Understandable Bad and Good
28 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So before i actually review this I must say one major thing: I skipped through all the sex scenes, and there were a lot of them. Now apart from that I understand wholly why a lot of people dislike this movie. The soft-core sex scenes were excessive, unrealistic, and lacking of actual chemistry between the main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. But like I said earlier, I merely skipped those scenes. So what's left is the true story-line of a billionaire man who was taken advantage of as a naive child and has no other was to express himself than through the same form of "pleasure" he is accustom to in the first place. The reaction and depths of both Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele is more than what is focused on in the movie. The struggle Anna has to understand the horror of Christian's life and past is quite memorizing. It is a true challenge to understand the trauma that occurs in a past like Christian's; let alone try to understand his trauma through the same "torture" or "pleasure" the he himself had to grow accustom too. I was sincerely surprised by the past that Christian Grey had; my thoughts coming into this movie were primarily that it was another sex-addict's happy movie and that I would eventually add this movie to the list of disappointing movies I've watched, however, I am pleased by the background that is provided through the movie. My main issue with the movie (aside from excessive sex scenes) is that the ending was so abrupt and lacking that I was more mad by that part than intrigued by the movie. I will happily wait though from Fifty Shades Darker to come this February to see where this leads.

Predictable
5 December 2016
While this movie was interesting to watch the whole plot was predictable and had a lack of twists. The only thing I would say I enjoyed about the film was that it followed a similar path of Fault In Our Stars. Aside from the lack of twists, the movie had little pull to keep you interest through the film. If watching this kind of film is something you are into then go for it, but if you'd like something that takes you to a path you didn't expect then don't watch this. No plot twists, not deviation to somewhere you didn't expect, and there will be no epic romance. I would go for Fault In Our Stars any day over this movie.

Terra Nova: Occupation (2011)

Really? Now it is over?
14 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched the entire series, and while it was kind of boring the first five episodes, it got so so so much better. Drama, treachery, love, and secrets started to shape and unfold. Terra Nova really started to form a connection with the viewers at this point, you started to get caught up with who's side you're on and who can you trust questions started to form. It is deeply saddening that now the show has come to an end when everything started to get interesting. Terra Nova deserved to continue to blossom. I am really going to miss all the characters, and I now have tons of questions: What happened to Taylor's son? What's in the Bad Lands? What are they going to do without the portal? How is the civilization going to grow? Is there going to be another portal possibly because Taylor's son is still alive? SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!!

Doesn't Follow the Book
27 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
When I was reading the book, I was excited to watch the movie. (I literally finished the book in the theater while watching the previews.) I spent a lot of the time irritated with how much of the book got changed. However, if you haven't read the book and have come to just see the movie then I'd wait for it to come to Redbox. The movie, aside from not staying with the actual story, was quite predictable. Even though the characters were well developed, they lack a certain intrigue that makes you feel for the characters. While I pictured Ben Parish, Evan Walker, Sam, Teacup, and Ringer quite different from the actors who played them I did enjoy the characters themselves, if I separate what I know from the book at least. If you are looking for a movie without sexual content, this one is good. Aside from sexual comments and a kissing scene there isn't anything to worry about if you plan to watch with children. The violence isn't to much as well even though it is an action film with a sci-fi twist. The movie was quite similar to the movie The Host though. The alien twist and how the children are part of the fifth wave was my favorite part of the entire movie and the book.

Better than the Book
22 December 2015
While this entire story line wasn't astray from the book, I didn't actually enjoy this movie(and not just because the most annoying character had my name.) I read the book expecting a great storyline since it was becoming a movie. I did not. So I was not anxious to see this movie. I was actually planning to never watch this movie. However, I did end up watching it, obviously. The character Margo was very exaggerate in the book, and given this mysterious life of adventure; the movie achieved the same exaggeration of Margo. However, my main issue was chasing after Margo. It made no logical sense to me, nor did the ending when she didn't come back with him. This was both a struggle to watch and to read about.

Intereting and Action Packed, But Predictable.
7 October 2015
The story line of Season of the Witch is definitely an action oriented movie. While the action was both intense and suspenseful, it didn't give enough room for the character's to develop more and become someone who you related too. Get performance from Nickolas Cage. The "witch" was both alluring and captivating. She made you question a lot: Is she a witch? OR is she possessed? Am I missing a piece here? Is this an illusion that they are in? Either way, the action and intensity of the movie was great, however, once particular things are reveal they storyline become just like the rest of those action packed witch movies.

Heart-Wrecking Performance
7 October 2015
Zac Efron delivered a magnificent performance. He is definitely more than just the guy who was in the High School Musical movies. The story took me off guard and touched my heart with his devotion to his brother. Coming from someone who has lost someone, this story made every emotion possible flutter to the surface: sadness, hope, love, anger at fate, and desire to move forward. The grief that Zac Efron portrayed in the story is so accurate and so beautifully acted out. The brother, Sam (played by Charlie Tahan), was so precious. This movie over all was a rewarding film to watch, and a definite keeper. Congratulations Zac and Charlie for a stellar performance.

Are You Kidding Me!!!
7 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
While the movie had some interesting aspects I cannot even remotely say I enjoyed it for two reasons. 1) I am a reader and read seven of the Last Apprentice series. The books were amazing to me and I couldn't wait for the film when I found out that it was coming out. But Hollywood ruined it. Five minutes into the movie and I knew they changed the entire plot line. I was screaming in my head the entire movie. 2) aside for reading the books before hand and being mad that they changed everything. The storyline the gave was predictable and tried to hard to amuse. The trailer showed most of the action packed scene and the comic spots were unsatisfying. I wouldn't recommend this for two types of people: ones who have read the books or ones who saw the trailer. Nothing will satisfy you during this film. Deeply Disappointed

Tear-Jerking Beauty
25 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I read this book and refused (and still do) to get rid of it. The book made me cry and laugh. The movies did the same thing. One thing i love the most about this movie is that it stayed so true to the book. Even knowing what was gonna happen didn't stop the tears from forming in my eyes or rolling down my face. This movie was beautifully portrayed. August Waters, why are you so perfect. <3 John Green did a phenomenal job at tricking people to get attached to August Waters rather than instead of Hazel. Even in the book you expect Hazel to die, not Gus. This movie also strays away from conventional movies that end on happy notes, or on a sense that everything is OK. You get a sense of incompleteness and pain. I cant imagine what someone going through cancer must actually feel, however this film made me realize how much more they lose. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

Great Mix of Comedy and Action
25 August 2014
I heard a lot of people talking about this movie longer before I saw the actually preview for it. When I did see the preview, I was excited to watch a movie with creatures and action that looked so, well, awesome. During the movie, I was surprised at how well the directors and actors mixed comedy and action. Normally this type of mixture doesn't turn out entirely well, however Gaurdians of the Galaxy did an absolutely flawless job. I was so amazed at how awesome this movie actually was that i wanted to watch it all over again. (Totally buying the movie when it comes out) There wasn't profanity, that was noticeable. There wasn't nudity, and there wasn't a whole lot of action and minimal comedy. The comedy and action were balanced, and during the movie there was tons of oldies playing and being sung. (Loved that part a lot). This movie is a must see, for kids and adults.

Speechlessly In Love
4 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
WOW!!! This film has earned the title of Most Anticipated Film of 2014. For two months i have been wanting to see this film and not only did the trailers show exceptional story lines, but the film itself was a magnificent achievement. I loved this film so much! While the true Sleeping Beauty will alway be first, Maleficent will be my favorite. How the makeup artists did Angelina's face was breathtaking (only she can make evil look magnificent.) I was so in-love with the film i went fan-boy on it and even got a fan shirt. I loved that the prince wasn't the true love, and it show everyone that true love can not only be with a significant other or soul mate, but also with someone like a mom or aunt or "godmother".

Better than the book....
28 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When I read the book, I was sincerely disappointed. I was extremely unwilling to watching the film thinking it was going to be as boring as the book. However, when I started the film I was more impressed. I loved the character DustFinger in both the book and the film. I also loved that he stated that the book didn't define him and that he was going to rewrite his history. Also, just like in the book I hated Capricorn. HAHA you die!!! So I give Inkheart a 7 instead of an 8 because while it was better than the book it didn't stay entirely with the book also. I don't like it when films don't go with the books entirely, however taking film class I can understand why they change things. 7/10

Not What I Was Expecting
27 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I was under the illusion that this movie was a romantic movie. While having a romantic element, this movie didn't contain all of the conventions that normally come with a romantic movie. However, I still enjoyed the movie. It was a dramatic take on someone's life. The main characters are played quite nicely and I would've hated to be hit by that car (I wouldn't have been as nice as she was). I was also hoping (well not hoping just expecting) that the father had done something more than just be someone who cares only about themselves. I also wanted this girl the beat the crap out of him when he came back to her, or at least let them have a final embrace before the movie ended. I was sincerely unimpressed with the film even though I liked the story line.
