The dead dreams of the living.
5 August 2019
A dreamy dark fairy tale about two lesbian orphans who are blind. Also they are vampire and can see in blue vision at night.

I haven't seen many Jean Rollins films, but I enjoyed this one much more than Demonaniacs. It was dark, but sweet. It was dream like with poetic dialog. The relationship between the two orphans was wholesome and Ioving. They weren't strong, they questioned who they are, and they enjoy some brandy to go with their blood. The movie was a great watch and I now feel the need to watch more of Rollins films.

I don't care what anyone says, this movie is a masterpiece.

I love this movie, the absurdity is amusing as hell, the two leads are really fun, and Carmine Capobianco's character name is my name, which is really important to me when watching a film. If I could save only one movie that isn't The Godfather from complete annihilation, it would be Psychos in Love.

Is there any word on the sequels? I really want to see Psychos In Love VII(Kate eats a Grape) and Psychos In Love IX(Joe and Kate vs Godzilla).

Side note: The most gruesome scenes were the ones where Joe poured the beer.

I guess it looked awesome

You know how everyone hated Belle in twilight because Belle was a dull lifeless character for the viewer to project themselves onto? Hugo is the male version of a character who, ironically, is also in love with a very old immortal being.

Alita had some impressive visuals, amazing action scenes, and the world seems interesting, however the story they told in this world is rather uninteresting.

Cyborg girl with anime eyes wakes up with no memory. Through conflicts she learns she is a battle warrior design for war. She needs to kill the guy who runs everything from the sky city. And that's it, the movie ends wanting you to go see the sequel. This whole thing was a setup for the next film, which could be a more interesting and deeper story if that sky city is similar to what I remember from the Manga.

The dialog was terrible, especially with the scenes between Alita and Hugo. A love story that rivals the one in Twilight.

Also the red paint on her face in the poster is blood from a stray puppers brutally murdered.

Suspenseful
14 September 2018
I was crying with the introduction montage. The family starting up their new computer running Windows XP, making new accounts, and watching them grow through their actions on that computer made it feel really personal. It made me feel like I knew this family, and I care for them.

The rest of the movie was great as it only gives you the perspective of different computer screens and camera videos. I've always hated any movies that tried this, but this is the first time I've seen this form of story-telling work. They didn't use this perspective to cover up laziness, they got creative with it.

It could have been a great film

I've never seen Chris Parnell in a movie before, so that was interesting...

This movie had some fantastic ideas and creativity, yet it was unorganized and poorly written. There were too many characters for the story it was trying to tell in 82 minutes. It was poorly paced and felt like it should have taken some more times with certain characters.

The dialogue also was pretty bad at times with some dumb jokes that just don't work for me. I can't even remember any quotes besides "Wait, wait. So you're telling me that my pizza place is built on a gateway to hell?"

Besides all the flaws in this film, I can still say I enjoyed it. You can tell it had a creative idea and Austin Vesely seemed very passionate about this project. I would recommend if you're in a mood to watch an 80s like B movie. I just wished this film was better because I love the idea and the world. It could have been a great film.

(Also want to add that I am happy I didn't drive to Milwaukee to see this film in a theater on September 10th. I almost did that.)

It's okayish
27 August 2018
It was a pretty an okayish film, I was expecting worst.

The plot isn't very interesting, a pretty typical murder mystery with a few twists that really don't work for me.

The puppet work was impressive and there were a few jokes that got a giggle out of.

Overall, a film that could of been another Who Framed Roger Rabbit fell short with a uninteresting plot and trying too hard at shock humor.

No it's not a supernatural horror film

I find the criticism that this movie is sad and depressing odd. Were people expecting a happy movie about two drug addicts living in poverty?

Now I didn't feel as strongly for these characters as I did for a character like Richard Gere in Time Out of Mind. But I still felt for these guys. They were both portrayed decently by Gills and McNeil.

Cinematography can be interesting at times and at other time it can be jarring. The camera focus being pulled away from the subject on to some background.
