Great idea ruined
22 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
While you expect there to be some "artistic license" this turned into the absurd in the first episode. Arrested but released with a knife, cracking a complex code immediately, escaping from a secure house, in seconds escaping from a completely bound up situation. Then you have a character that should be despised, for a week letting easily into the 100's die to prolong his own life. Not the right message. Then there's the sound, accents that are at times barely audible. This sits in the camp of thinking the audience is dumb so makes every step very easy to follow. Such a shame.

One trick pony

Warning: Spoilers
All the wanna be luvvies who are tripping over themselves to give this a high score are the same who look at a banana skin accidentally left on a gallery floor and think it's art. Making one long scene is clever. And I mean FULL STOP The characters had nothing about them, the mission was bizarre given the importance, there are so many weird things thrown in to pad the story and historically challenged. Just for one, the accuracy of the weapons was terrible but these soldiers could fire from the hip to within inches, the main character gets shot, falls down stairs and just has a cut at the back of his head. He crosses a river only to end up washed down it, back on the other side, a few minutes from where his random 5 minute truck journey dropped him off and is right at the end of the mission. I could go on about a woman and baby (and somehow talking to her???) drunkard not being taken out and a miracle cow. Imagine how you felt when you first saw saving private Ryan, now remember how you felt when you thought you had at least won a tenner on the lottery only to find out you didn't put it on. Guess which film this is.

Joker (I) (2019)

Meh

Perhaps I'm not arty farty enough but I'm sorry, long, draw out and extremely predictable. It's the usual character builder at the beginning of a film that last 30 minutes but that's it. The entire film. For two hours. Yes, it does make you understand the Joker but it should have a bit more of a later half of how he gets successful. No doubt another film so it's really going to be a 4 hour film split in 2. Spoiler, he's not right in the head.

7* for comedy value

Easy explanation. Thousands submit a business plan. Ten idiots/narcacists/delusional people plus one about credible and the winner Are selected. Lord Sugar has already decided the one that's going to make him even more money but it's dragged out for a few months with the performing monkeys entertaining us with their unique brand of obnoxiousness (that peasant librarian wannabe gentry!!!) After real business people completely humiliate them nothing changes in their jelly brains and they still think they have been on the program for merit, not basically a slaughtering that even web toed folk who marry their sister can look down on. To give them credit though, they can dress themselves and are toilet trained. I think.
