Nefarious (2023)
Not Horror - Great Acting
This is a great movie done in a non typical way. Dialogue was well done and kept your attention the whole time. I think it could have been rated PG13 as I don't feel like it meets an R rating. It is appropriate for teens but probably not for preteens. This is a well done psychological or dramatic thriller. Not sure why the Movie Rating agency calls it Horror as there is no blood, gore, etc that are typical in horror. These were not needed as the story was well done without resorting to these typical movie tactics. The only horror I saw was in the previews before the movie that were advertising other horror films so you might want to wait 5 minutes or so for the previews to end before taking your seat.
God's Not Dead: We the People (2021)
Loved the movie and the message of Freedom and Personal Liberty
This was a very well done movie. I laughed and cried. It uses a story to show how our freedoms can be taken away by the government if we do not stay vigilant and active in ensuring the constitution is followed. The movie is meant to make us think. It is not just mindless entertainment.
The movie is relevant to anyone who loves personal freedoms. It is not a movie just for Christians.
Little Women (2019)
Not as Good as 1994 version
This version of Little Women was good but could have been better. There was too much jumping back and forth from past to present which made it difficult to follow the story line especially for someone who doesn't already know the story.
Facing Darkness (2017)
Ebola Story
Very well done documentary about the Ebola crisis in Liberia and the two non-profit organizations that jumped in to help the sick. The focus was on the efforts done by the Christian ministry of Samaritan's Purse. We saw Ebola through the eyes of the doctors, nurses, and support staff as they cared for the infected and tried to avoid infection of themselves. Faith in God does not ensure our safety. Sometimes it brings us into difficulties.
Saving Christmas (2014)
Educational movie with a touch of family comedy
Made me think more about the reasons for celebrating Christmas. Helps me to see that I can focus on the true meaning of Christmas while partaking in the celebrations of the season. The main character named Christian did an excellent job and was enjoyable to watch. The others in the cast provided the right amount of lighthearted humor. There was a good balance of scenes between Christian and Kirk Cameron and the main party. Kirk Cameron is known for producing great movies and people have a certain expectation from his films. This film seems to be marketed as a full action comedy which sets expectations different than what the movie actually is. I liked it. Just know it has more of an educational approach with light humor.
