Origins: The Journey of Humankind (2017)
If you want accurate knowledge you won't find it here.
But if you want to learn really amazing facts of human history here are some really fantastic YouTube chanels; NORTH 02, Stefan Milo, History with Kayleigh, Fall of Civilizations, Toldinstone, History With Cy, Invicta, History of the Earth, even Weird History-fun but very accurate. Any of these YT chanels are 1000x better than this.
I don't know what's happened with these corporate productions over the last 20 years. Even BBC and PBS have gone down hill. YouTube can be a cesspool if you're not careful, but in all that mess there are some real gems like the ones I mentioned above. Like I said, if you like history, beautifully told with academic accuracy and great visuals, you'll never watch another corporate produced Ancient Aliens level garbage like this.
Killing Eve: Smell Ya Later (2019)
Jumped the shark, into the stratosphere.
What??? This show used to be good, the previous episode, fantastic, but this episode... what???
What's up with Eve's overtly sexual infatuation with this killer? It's bordering on lame and stupid. Taking random pills given to her by a killer? She seems completely mentally unstable, far more than Villanelle. How can I invest any emotion into someone that is unpredictably unstable and makes horrible self destructive decisions?
But wait, it gets worse. So Eve's idiotic plan gets approved, and wham-bam-thank you-mam the silly trap works. (Why didn't they do this the first time if it was that easy?) They get Villanelle. They have her in their hands and they just let her go? Or worse, they're working with her? After killing some of their own? And so many more? Pure lunacy. This would have made more sense if Eve had done this secretly, like her trip to Paris.
This episode absolutely killed the show for me. Absurd, idiotic, and not funny at all. I don't see how it can recover.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
If we were to compare...
...the Star Trek franchise with American Presidents, ST The Original Series would be George Washington, ST The Next Generation was Abraham Lincoln, ST Deep Space nine was Woodrow Wilson, ST Voyager was Frank D. Roosevelt, ST Enterprise was Jimmy Carter, and ST Discovery is non other than... yup, Donald Trump himself.
In fact, even Trump's Tweets aren't as thick headed idiotic irrational and obtuse as the dialog and plot of this show. How could this happen? I want heads to roll at CBS?
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Pegasus (1994)
LOL what?
Overall a better than average episode with an intriguing plot and twist, yet that's where we run into a problem. Could Picard, and Riker for that matter, be bigger hypocrites? At around the 38 minute mark Picard finds out the secret of the Pegasus and in Picard fashion lays into a preachy speech about the high and mighty rules and regulation of the Federation and their moral code only to then literally, instantaneously, switch gears and agree to use this forbidden/forsaken device because hey, they're trapped and boy it sure would be useful to use an illegal forbidden device if you got it, even though it is illegal, and you just trashed the admiral for his attempt at recovering it. I like Star Trek, and I just finished re-watching TNG because of the disaster that Discovery is, but you know what, this series is just as hypocritical and preachy. I did not catch this when I saw it originally as a kid, but now I can see where the writers of Discovery got their inspiration. Still no excuse for all their other failings, but I can forgive them about the preachiness since it seems to be part of the Trek DNA. So that's my only complaint with Trek in general. This episode is reflective of the entire series. They preach high morals but they ignore them when it's convenient. Not cool.
