God's Not Dead 2 (2016)
Excellent storyline with powerful facts
Excellent, positive, uplifting, family oriented drama based on true events. I'm surprised at all the cases that this movie was inspired from at the end of the film during the credit part. It showed that they really did their homework and researched while developing the story, characters, plot, and script. This movie reflects current real-world sentiment toward people of faith---just take a look at all the negative reviews on this page with the name calling. Like the original God's Not Dead, the sequel is mixed in fictional characters with facts, such as the phrase "separation of church and state" was nowhere to be found in the Constitution, but has been misused by the mass, as well as cameo appearances by former atheists who set out to examine and disprove Christianity but were convicted by the undeniable evidence they uncovered including Lee Strobel and J Warner Wallace. The film was powerful with twists and turns, and truly drew out emotions from the audience. People were cheering, clapping, and dancing at the end of the film. Acting from supporting characters could improve, but as these faith based films gain popularity, they will be able to cast better actors and actresses. Overall, I highly recommend it for the entire family to enjoy for a positive message, if you keep an open mind and are not judgmental.
The Drop Box (2015)
Excellent documentary
Brian Ivie did an excellent job telling the story of Pastor Lee's work and presenting facts about the issue of abandoned babies in South Korea. Some people complain that this is "not a movie," and they are right. This is a documentary because the stories involve real people who are still living today.
His style of directing is quirky, youthful, and upbeat. This contrasted the seriousness and gloominess of the topic being discussed, yet highlighted the hopefulness of these lives being saved.
This film/documentary raised awareness between the conservative culture in South Korea with unwed/teenage mothers and the taboo of babies born with disabilities. It really gripped our hearts and pulled the emotions out of us. There was not a dry eye in the house during this movie (sold out show). Well done.
God's Not Dead (2014)
Excellent Christian movie!
I've watched this movie twice and I can't get enough of it. Sure the acting wasn't top-notch, but as an engineer and someone who has been involved in the scientific field for 20 years, I am so glad that the scientific evidence supporting Creationism and Intelligent Design which atheists dismiss was discussed and presented. This is not some mushy touchy-feely "faith based" movie, but a movie with fictional characters presenting very real and hard evidence for why we believe in what we believe. Well done! I hope they make more movies that will expand on the scientific evidence and arguments supporting Creationism and uncovering the lies that have been taught in schools to our children (I being one of them).
Patterns of Evidence: Exodus (2014)
Mind blown!
As an engineer who has been working in high-tech industry since 1996, I appreciate Tim Mahoney's pursuit of truth through facts, evidence, and logic. This documentary re-writes the human history as we know it, and affirms the Biblical events to be true. I liked that he not only interviewed those who believed in the Bible stories, but also those who do not. He gave a good balance of arguments from both sides, presented all the facts and findings, and allowed the viewers to be their own judge on what is true based on the proof presented to them. I got goosebumps throughout the film when archaeologists and historians confirmed the stories and patterns of Exodus. I'm so glad I watched this and can't wait to own this documentary on DVD.
