The Year Earth Changed (2021)
Deducting one point...for shortness
A classic BBC production. To have that vision that something like these changes are possible is gobsmacking. They set things in motion for production just at the right time. Extremly beautiful to watch and for once Sir David got to say something positive on camera. We needed this to realise how quickly nature heal itself once we give it a chance.
Only complaint I have is how short the documentry is. It should have been s series or at least full length feature. I know it was pandemic so shooting might havr been difficult but its still BBC productions.
Seaspiracy (2021)
Surprisly...A stress reliever.
Its make you think about the pettiness of your personal life problems.
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
You are fortunate if you have/had good parents.
A great social drama...it reminds you how fortunate you are to have supporting families.
Saaho (2019)
Why Why Why!!
I should not be eligible to write this review because I slept in the movie 30 mins in because of all the slow motions.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
Oscar season has begun.
With multiple oscar winners the cast delivers an impeccable performance. The movie successfully creates an emotion of extreme hate for one of the characters.
Probably the best court room drama of all time not featuring mathew mcohney.
American Crime Story (2016)
3 episodes too many
Story is sometime very slow. For ex, episode is all about highway car chase and nothing much happens in it. You can directly start watching from episode 3 onwards if you want to save time. Couple of skippable scenes in episodes 7 and 8 as well.
Our Planet (2019)
Make attenborough the president of the world.
Its high time we think about our actions and how are those effecting our natural world.
The Big Bang Theory (2007)
Everyone interested in science can relate to one character or the other.
This show is out of IMDB Top 250 points out the flaws in the IMDB rating system while crappy shows made specifically for Indian audience like Sacred Games are there.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
WTF James!
I know you are not involved in production of these films as much but do you even watch them before signing them off for release?
Planet Earth II (2016)
Deducting a point beacuse there are only 6 episodes.
Hans Zimmer+ David Attenborough+ BBC = Gold If you liked the original series this one won't disappoint you.
The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
A thick load of Motivation
Nominated for 1 Oscar! Is this a joke? You don't nominate these movies but give best picture to American Beauty. Academy is a joke.
Seven Worlds One Planet (2019)
Every Frame is a wallpaper.
Be ready with your snipping tool because you would want to set everything that you see as a wallpaper. Actually don't do that because that would be a copyright violation. What you should actually do is get hold of original blu-ray of this series and then only watch it. None of the streaming services, in whichever country you are in, will do justice do this series as they greatly reduce the bitrate. It is imperative to have the blu-rays if you want to experience this jawdropping, mesmerising work of an artist(God?) in the utmost detail.
Girl Meets World (2014)
A refresher course on life.
One of those series where you are afraid to watch the last episode because you want to save something for later (cue: FRIENDS). It takes you on a drive of emotions, feelings and a few laughs here and there.
I watched it when I was 28 and it instantly brought out the teenager in me when I was figuring out things like the characters in it (I am still figuring out).
Only open question it leaves in there is who pulled the plug on the series just after three seasons. I understand its not as funny as the original series but is comedy all to live for?
Thunder! Lightning! ;)
Chasing Ice (2012)
Time for us to make our move.
"In the future when my kids as what did you do to save the planet....I can say, I did my part."
This documentry should be come under horror genre.
Chasing Coral (2017)
Inspiring
Not as good as chasing ice as too much content is about life of photographers.
Gemini Man (2019)
All good, if you don't expect too much from the story.
I manly watched it to test my new 4K television capabilities as this 1 one of the few feature films that are shot in 4K60FPS HDR which looked pretty cool. The story doesn't have much to offer as you must have read in other reviews but if want to see a movie played in HFR....knock yourself out.
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Depression Defined
I don't know what I watched but this is the most depressing movie I have ever watched and its best at being that.
I am writing this review almost after 10 years of watching the movie and still it hasn't left the spot in my head.
Aquaman (2018)
DCEU Lifeline! Visually dazzeling
Won't be suprised if it gets academy award for visual effects and production design. Dialogues are cringy but the cast has given everything they can to produce a masterpiece. The movie feels like a testerone charged rocket which keeps exploding every few minutes Avatar grade CGI work.
That being said, editing could have been better since this was supposed to be an origins story which are generally all good(insert: wonder woman). Still DCs finest jewel.
And yeah, Amber you beauty. I don't know how many times I will fall in love with you after I saw you in Never back down for the first time.
