Unstable (2023)
If you miss Better off Ted this is for you
I really enjoyed this show it has the same crazy unhinged energy that the show Better Off Ted had and I enjoyed every second of this show.
The humor isn't for everyone but all of the characters are unique and charming. Rob Lowe really embraces this role and has fun working with his son. There is great chemistry between all the the characters. And while the laughs are plenty usually through odd situations there is a poignancy to the humor as it's from a tragic shared by the two leads and their inability at coping with it added to their natural issues as father and son. This show is a fun watch so check it out.
Conan: The Adventurer: The Night of the Fiery Tears (1992)
Conan for kids
A lot of people over the years give this show a lot of flack and they don't see it for what it is a kid's primer to the world of Conan.
Conan in general is traditionally a very grown up character and it's hard to adapt to a kids world but it does. It falters and flawed like any show from the 90's. Like any adaptation of that time it uses the source material as a tether and takes a little creative liberties. In this instead of a barbarian he is an adventurer, he uses a sword, still takes out the bad guys but by sending them to another dimension instead of that other way. He learns from his grandfather about his travels and this instills a wanderlust Conan is still famous for. He is still stubborn and hard headed. He enjoys a good time and a sucker for a pretty face. He still doesn't trust society. He is still fighting lizard people, vile wizards and horrendous monsters just with his fists instead of a battle axe. He travels with odd assortment of friends but learning life lessons instead of getting into serious trouble. The elements are there just toned down alot so you could watch this with your little ones.
I first watched this show when I was 11 or 12 and I had seen Conan the movies many times when they played on tv. I knew there were comics but wasn't really collecting them at the time I usually got what I could at Jewel or Dominick's when they had comics with the magazines and a few books that were paperback sized. I had more interest in Spider-Man and the X-men than Conan at the time. I would watch this show after school and yeah it was alittle kiddy for me but it was fun I really liked this stuff and you didn't see much of it after this with Hercules amd Xena. Years later I was in the final days of college my favorite Avengers writer was going to start a new Conan series at Dark Horse Comics and I thought I would give it a try. Nearly twenty years later I have about 60% of all the Conan comics that have been printed through various companies. A lot of that has to do with how fondly I thought of this show. Is it the greatest cartoon of all time no but what is? It is fun and has a conclusion which is rare for cartoons of the day. If you are a fan looking for a true adaptation of Howard's work sadly you won't find it here but you'll find it's heart. I think alot of people watch this and forget that the hero in Howard's world was never fit for children you can't try to fit it in that lens you'll never be happy. What you can do is kick back turn on tubi watch this with your kids, siblings or nieces/ nephews and introduce them to this world. Then in a few years when they are older they can dust off an old adventure or comic jump back in as they never left.
Office Uprising (2018)
Check it out
Make no mistake this is a very dumb movie but it's highly entertaining. I laughed a lot. It knows what it is and embraces it. Zombie movies are a dime a dozen and an almost oversaturated genre. This was just a breath of fresh air it doesn't try to reinvent the wheel and if it was there are ton of better movies from Korean that do that. If you want stupid fun go see this and then blood sucking bastards if you a jaw dropping experience check out train to busan or kingdom. If you turn your brain off and want a good time you won't be disappointed.
Spider-Man (1981)
Fun show
I grew up with this show, it's counterpart in Amazing Friends, The Incredible Hulk and all of the dc counterparts floating around. I loved them all when I was three. I know there's a debate over what's the better show and to me that's unimportant. I love both these shows because of how they embraced the marvel universe and exposes you to characters you'd never think of running into. This show is also guilty of making me a Dr. Doom fan and until I really started reading comics did I find out that they rarely cross paths. This show has six episodes costarring doom and it's great. This show is fun and a blast from the past. Watch this with the little ones and grab some popcorn it's a gem.
